Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval: Mass-Creation analysis
editWP:MASSCREATION+WP:MEATBOT Policy: Large scale additions to Wikipedia, such as en masse article creation, need community input with pre-approval (at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval).
Results: Approval of mass-creation proposal submissions has not declined since the policy requirement—extended to all namespaces late 2011—was introduced in late 2009.
In fact, reasonable submissions tend to be granted, and benefit from the additional input by incorporating suggestions given during the submission.
One denied submission was from a user who'd operated bots before due to quality concerns and the point the bot previously authorised to create 500 articles had somehow created 15,000 instead. The user took concerns on board and his two subsequent bot requests were both approved.
The remainder of the denied/withdrawn requests were not approved because the user had only a few edits, it was apparent the user "did not understand what a bot is, or bot policy", or the user otherwise needed to be pointed towards Wikipedia:Bot requests.
