Video games

edit

Hey 93—thanks for your recent contributions. I noticed your interest in Wikipedia's video game content and thought you might be interested in the video games WikiProject. We've done some great work (over 300 pieces of   Featured content and over 1200   Good articles), but there is plenty more to do. You can watch our announcements page for article review, feedback, and cleanup suggestions. Our talk page is a also good place to request third opinions, ask questions, and get feedback. If I can help with anything, swing by my talk page any time. Hope to see you around. czar 09:34, 18 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Team Liquid, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hearthstone (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rocket Mortgage

edit

Hello 93,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Rocket Mortgage for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Not sure how a redirect could have been considered advertising, but I have since added a sentence and reference about the service on the Quicken Loans website. 93 11:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Why did you describe it as a "Trivia"?

edit

In a recent revert of yours, you described previous edit as "trivia". Please help me understand why do you consider such info as trivia, especially considering that this subject's cosplay activity is a well-noted fact covered by reliable sources such as Newsweek here, ESPN's video here, one the Polygon's section here as well as other less popular (but I believe still usable) sources such as here and there and also being prominently presented in subject's own Twitch channel as well as subject's dedicated Patreon account related to this specific activity? Omgwtfbbqsomethingrandom (talk) 20:53, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's irrelevant and a WP:BLP violation. That doesn't change despite how many sources one can find on it. 93 (talk) 22:50, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
After reading the source supplied, i am inclined to doubt that it is irrelevant, 93. And Omgwtfbbqsomethingrandom supplied a source, plus additional sources here. WP:BLP does not prohibit even negative content about a living person if reliably sourced. (Not that i see this as negative or even contentious.) Under what provision of BLP do you think this is a violation? Why should i not restore and expand the content, based on these sources? DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 00:46, 14 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
In the absence of a response from you, I will probably restore and expand the challenged content when I have time. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 13:18, 15 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

ProPublica Video

Per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Trump_administration_family_separation_policy#ProPublica_video I would ask that you self revert and return the ProPublica video to the lead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Casprings (talkcontribs) 00:03, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have no obligation to revert myself. 93 (talk) 01:14, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I never stated it was an obligation. It was a request since there seems to be a developing consensus that it belongs in the lede.Casprings (talk) 01:22, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Explicable

edit

Hello, 93. Regarding your edit comment here: the removal of the entry is extremely explicable. If you were looking in an encyclopedia for information about a person named "American McGee", would you really expect to find it in an article with the title "American"? Of course not. No more than you would expect to find the article about the current president of the United States under the title "Donald." This is what's called a partial title match. A disambiguation page is for listing topics that might be called by the title of the page. "American cheese" is actually slightly more appropriate than Mr. McGee, since someone might order a "cheeseburger with American," using the single word to refer to the cheese. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 19:14, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

From the top of Donald, "This article is about the given name. For the businessman and politician known as "The Donald", see Donald Trump." I would think that the only notable person named "American" would merit a mention on this page rather than having to create the nonexistent American (name) or List of people with the given name American. 93 (talk) 19:49, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Page move for Champaign, Illinois

edit

I asked that the requested move you wanted from Champaign, Illinois to Champaign be reverted and it has. While I agree in principle with the request that U.S. cities that do not need to be disambiguated should not be, that is not the current consensus at WP:USPLACE. Aspects (talk) 22:23, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the target of Champaign back to Champaign, Illinois as it was before my edits, as per Little Rock redirecting to Little Rock, Arkansas. 93 (talk) 02:07, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

This account recently left a note on my talk page (here) that seems unnecessarily hostile. It threatens banishment for repeating a mistake, but there is no information about what page the mistake(s) are on or how to fix it / prevent it from happening again. If you're going to use this kind of template, please leave more details about the article(s) in question. I had to dig through your recent contributions to find the pages you were referring to. See WP:EQ and Wikipedia:Common_sense_is_not_common. Please assume good faith; We're not all your enemy. Sesamehoneytart 03:17, 27 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry that it came across as hostile; it's an adaptation of a message I've received from an administrator so I would assume following in their footsteps is generally a good idea. 93 (talk) 03:21, 27 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
