@GiantSnowman:      Some IPv6 user, if you look thru this talk page history, has been putting some nonsensical things and words on my talk page.  First, I do not own any blog that the IPv6 user has stated.  I think this user is just trying to just vandalize, just to get some sort of response, like a troll would.  I just want to remove that stuff from the page history, and forget about this incident.  I do not want to waste any more energy, or time, on that nonsensical nonsense.

Speedy deletion nomination of Jiz P

edit

A tag has been placed on Jiz P requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. How does the Template:Service award work and is implemented?

edit

How do I implement the Template:Service awards into my user page. Does it automatically adds the ribbons and things? Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 01:36, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

The basic usage follows {{service awards|year=X|month=Y|day=Z|edits=ABC}} , where you replace the letters with your actual values. It will automatically change the image, but only after you manually change the |edits= value. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 01:52, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: So I have to change the edit value after ever edit? Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 01:54, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Getting your current number of edits is not possible with just a template, so yes, you have to update it. I suggest that there's no need to update it unless your edit count has increased by, say, 10 percent, or 1000 edits. Remember that being excessively focused on your edit count is not viewed with much favor. Stick to making good contributions to the project. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:10, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. The template doesn't actually change values/ribbons except for at certain values (see Wikipedia:Service_awards#Requirements), so for example if you set |edits=200, there's no point in changing that number until you hit |edits=1000 - unless you want to, of course, but as jmcgnh says, being super-focused on how many edits you have isn't terribly productive. RFPP

edit

I've deleted this, as it is a cross-namespace redirect from article space. That meets WP:CSD#R2. We don't really refer to WP space in article space. Do you remember if you created more of these, or is this was the only one? --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:17, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Floquenbeam: - That was the first redirect I made that points to a Wikipedia:.... page, so no. Other redirects I made always are part of the article space and point to article space. Sorry for the trouble. Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 23:21, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just edit conflicted with you to say that I'm wrong. Actually, it's not part of CSD#R2, I guess, there's an exception for WP-space. I misread. If you want, I'll undelete, but even if it isn't a CSD criterion, it seems a bad idea to have lots of these shortcuts floating around in article space. But I'll undelete if you want, it is not a CSD candidate after all. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:22, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:Cross-namespace redirects seems to say that new ones of these are discouraged, but I'd have to use WP:RFD if you disagree, and that's WAY too much trouble. So I'll just ask you if deletion is OK. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:25, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Floquenbeam:It's ok if you just delete it. The only reason why I made it was the Wikipedia: portion of typing it. Otherwise there is Wikipedia:RFPP, I thought RFPP would be useful for those who did not want to type the Wikipedia part. But, if it is discouraged then delete it. Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 23:31, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks, I'll keep it deleted. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:33, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
(Passerby edit) @Aceing Winter Snows Harsh Cold: You probably know this, but in case you don't, you don't have to type the "Wikipedia:" part out. "WP:" is a shortcut you can use, e.g. WP:RFPP. 28bytes (talk) 19:30, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Question about a comment another user made

edit

@Floquenbeam: - I have a important question about a comment made at Administrators Noticeboard. The last portion of Grandpalama comment that he made at [1] which can be seen near the end of that section, (it's above Boing! said Zebedee comment (which is above mine), and bellow a comment that Nil Einne made). I feel like he is referring to the bureaucratic as the users who voted in support or opposing the ban, and said that it was a exercise, and described the exercise in a weird unethical manner. Should this unethical comment be subject to removal or redactation or something else? I am new to this type of thing, and maybe Grandpalama meant something else. Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 00:02, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's not unethical, and it's not a personal attack on anyone, it's just rude and ridiculously overboard. Frankly, you are too new to be considering removing other people's comments anywhere; if it needs to be removed, someone else can do it. --Floquenbeam (talk) 14:43, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I noticed this comment of yours as I was re-closing the section last night. I would encourage you to avoid making comments of that nature, and indeed to focus more on article edits than noticeboard commentary. There is lots of work to be done in the article space; I'm sure there are ways you could apply your talents there. Repeated insulting, unhelpful, or unnecessary comments on the noticeboards is not a good use of your skills and may lead to you being asked not to participate on those boards in the future. 28bytes (talk) 04:04, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by John from Idegon was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Generally, lower schools are not notable and there is nothing in this draft or in an internet search that indicates this school is an exception. Please find a different topic.

@John from Idegon:@AngusWOOF:@Justlettersandnumbers: Please copy the above statements to the talk page of User:Hamburgersforever1432, as they were the original creator of the page. The only reason why I sent it for submission was because, the user has not edited the article in a long time after I edited it, and the user is not here that often based on their contribution history. Thus as I stated in the first sentence, please send a copy of the above statements to that users talk page, so that they are not surprised as to what happened to thier draft after it gets deleted due to inactivity.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Sandbox. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Even in the sandbox you don't get to do that. Meters (talk) 05:29, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Meters: Thanks for the heads up. I was not trying to do unconstructive edits, as it did sate on the Wikipedia sandbox somewhere that experimentation is allowed there if I am not wrong. I want to know the difference between the user sandbox and Wikipedia sandbox? Don't they share the same purpose? Aceing_Winter_Snows_Harsh_Cold (talk) 05:36, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Wikipedia sandbox is a public page. That's why it says "Please DO NOT place copyrighted, offensive, or libelous content in sandboxes." You claim you read the sandbox banner, so why did you think it wouldn't be offensive to add pornographic images and videos, and 100 or so instances of "Tit Fuck"? If you wish to pore through commons looking at pornographic images and videos that's your business, but don't drop them on the sandbox. No way was your edit simply experimenting. Meters (talk) 05:44, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Meters: Sorry about that. I think you are right about that. Although then it does come to what people may consider as "offensive". I think the word offensive is too opinionated, and instead vulgar should be added to that list. How and where should I place an RfC of this idea of placing vulgar into that list?
