Speedy deletion nomination of Freddie Henchi and the Soulsetters

Removing Speedy at Freddie Henchi and the Soulsetters

Not them - YOU

We do not encourage people to write articles about themselves, on the grounds that they may well know more about themselves, but are very unlikely to give the whole picture. (Come on, would you tell everyone what you did? Yes, that incident...) This is an encyclopaedia, and articles are expected to be 'warts and all', not profiles like at discogs or reverbnation. There is another problem, too. You don't show any particular notability for the band. Look at WP:BAND, and at WP:RS which is about the reliable independent sources you need. If the band are the only source (as profiles at discogs etc don't count, nor do blogs, wikis, YouTube, Facebook and all similar), then I'm afraid there'll be no article. I've not deleted it (someone else may), but you need to get references in quick to prove the notability under BAND. If there is - may be too early. You say 'were', so if there's nothing by now, there isn't going to be in future. Sorry, but we don't have articles on every band. I've played in or with several that wouldn't stand a chance - even though we played to 10,000 once and have been seen on TV in at least three countries. Peridon (talk) 21:56, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

Freddi-Henchi Band

I understand completely that you want to get out an accurate history of your band, but I don't think that Wikipedia is the right place to do this. I'd suggest creating a page for your group on Facebook or a similar site, because Wikipedia articles have to meet certain inclusion standards and I don't think your band is quite ready yet. Once independent sources have taken note of your band, then it can have a Wikipedia article, but for now, social networking would be a great alternative. CtP (t • c) 21:46, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
