ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I took care of your move request at WP:RM/TR, but just wanted you to know, in case you don't already, that you should be able to do these kinds of moves yourself. As long as there is not more than one edit at the redirect that points back to the article to be moved, any autoconfirmed editor should be able to move that article over the redirect. Station1 (talk) 06:39, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

when I try doing that I usually get an error Abo Yemen 06:58, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
You will get an error message when there are even just two edits at the redirect. But if there is just one - usually when the article has just been recently moved - you should be able to do it. Try it next time it comes up and let me know if it works for you or not. I'm not an admin and I was able to move that article. Station1 (talk) 07:03, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
aha, ig i gotta wait for someone to move a page w/o consensus and ill try it out. Thanks for letting me know! Abo Yemen 07:06, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please note that not all general sanctions (most, even) include extended confirmed restriction as a remedy; the Syrian civil war general sanctions do not, and thus under the currently imposed sanctions on pages such as Talk:Battle of Aleppo (2024), striking all comments by non-EC editors is not correct practice. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 13:01, 1 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

You should reconsider striking some of the comments like "Are you a regime supporter?" Abo Yemen 13:27, 1 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
That would be valid, but not under the previous rationale of ECR. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 13:29, 1 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
