Speedy deletion of "Shoe phone"

edit

A page you created, Shoe phone, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it has no content, other than external links, categories, "see also" sections, rephrasing of the title, and/or chat-like comments.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Yamakiri TC § 08-25-2008 • 23:11:05 23:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Paul's thorn

A tag has been placed on Paul's thorn, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also want to move the page to EverythingWiki. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mohd wara (talk) 00:59, 4 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Wood, did not appear to be constructive and has been removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.   Another of your edits, such as the one you made to carbon capture and storage, seems to indicate that you are hitting the bong too hard. Please be careful not to edit while stoned, or perhaps only edit the talk pages at these times. NJGW (talk) 04:22, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Odometer Tax?

edit

Your edit to Odometer, dealing with the Odometer Tax, is somewhat unclear. Is a mileage tax in effect anywhere in the world, or is it simply a proposed policy? In any case, you will need a reliable secondary source to cite. I'm going to leave your section in place, so you can look at it. A Pattern O (talk) 08:00, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You have been temporarily blocked from editing for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Speedy deletion nomination of Talkabout

edit

A tag has been placed on Talkabout, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thank you for uploading File:IMG_3629-flickers-damaging_property.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:18, 2 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unlicenced image

edit

You uploaded File:Live traced stars-with fractals.jpg but forgot to actually add a copyright tag to the image even though you did write that it was public domain. Would you plaese add an appropriate tag to the image so it does not get deleted, unless you don't mind as it is not being used in any articles. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 19:21, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Leo Awards

edit

I don't know why you sent me an email about this, as I have never edited the page in question - but I will be happy to answer you nevertheless:

  • I notice that you have never edited anything connected to the Leo Awards either - so I suppose there's a possibility that the email in question is a fake, joe job, or otherwise dodgy. If so, feel free to ignore the following.
  • Assuming the mail was sent in earnest: No one, not you nor any other editor, is entitled to edit an article for the purpose of making the subject "look good". You will not be allowed to "take charge" of an article, and in fact you are specifically discouraged (just short of actually forbidden) to edit any article where you have a conflict of interest with the subject. We are building an encyclopedia here, not a promotional business register. We are all interested in keeping content "current and factual". We achieve that by summarizing publicly available material as published by reliable, independent sources. We do not do it by handing over control to someone who may be interested chiefly in spin-doctoring the subject's public image. Please don't try that, and don't suggest it to people either. I will be specifically keeping an eye on the related articles now, and I expect so will any other good faith Wikipedian who you send this kind of comunication to. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 23:34, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hurry up and wait

edit

The article Hurry up and wait has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

trivial dictdef

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
