If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. Project news Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since the last newsletter went out but it's time to tune up those guitars, set the amps to 11, and rock out a bit. Or for us old guys, put on the fingerpicks and set the amp to 3. A lot of people have been laboring away at guitar articles and their efforts are to be applauded. If you haven't edited in a while, why not pick an article from Category:Stub-Class guitarist articles and expand it? Or better yet, pick one from the article requests and create it. More tasks can be found on the main project page in the WikiProject Guitarists open tasks box. I went through the member list and moved anyone who hasn't edited a guitar article in two months to the inactive section. If you're getting this newsletter, it means you are still in the active list. If you are interested in assessing guitarist articles, please see the assessment department. Response to your comment on my user page

I do consider Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater a notable keyboardist; I also consider most of the names that were deleted from the list several months ago (of which he was one) notable keyboardists. There are a bunch of other progressive rock keyboard players who aren't in the list but are supremely talented and very notable in terms of that; Geoff Downes, for example, and Tony Banks (of Genesis). The list within this article should not be an indiscriminate list of names; I've said that so many times in my edit summaries. I am not disputing the notability of Jordan Rudess as a talented musician; but the list shouldn't even be there anymore, really; there should be a short paragraph listing five or six names at the most. Half the names that are there now should be removed; not because they lack notability or their names aren't famous enough, but because it's an article about something, not a list of something.

Somewhere along the way, people forgot that it was an article about keyboard players. Perhaps Rudess should be mentioned, but in a well written (and well referenced) history of the keyboard player in popular music; not in a long indiscriminate list of eighty-seven names. --Steve Farrell 16:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

We now have 20 articles of featured quality. Well done to the various WP:RHCP editors, Xihix, Ceoil, WesleyDodds, and Teemu08. Kate Bush was featured on the Main Page on July 30. We collaborated on Meat Puppets, In Utero, "Touch Me I'm Sick", John Frusciante, and Zeitgeist (The Smashing Pumpkins album) during the past month. During the month of July, Sky Blue Sky, R.E.M. (band), "Monkey Gone to Heaven", A.M. (album), The Cure, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Wilco, Loose Fur, John Frusciante, A Ghost Is Born and Being There (album), a total of 11 articles, were promoted to good article status; a record month. We now have 33 GAs, out of a total of ~680 articles.

U2's new film, U23D, is due for 3D theatre release later this year. The Republican National Committee has taken the first step to endorsing Bono’s ONE initiative, with a potential donation of 30 billion dollars in U.S. taxes. Their most recent song is a cover of the John Lennon song, Instant Karma! for the album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur. All proceeds go to Amnesty International. The album was a critical and commercial success. It went to #1 in many countries and sold over 9 million copies worldwide. Bono described the album as "our first rock album. It's taken us twenty years or whatever it is, but this is our first rock album." The album deals with love, war, peace, harmony, and approaching death. The singles released from the album are: Vertigo, All Because of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, City of Blinding Lights and Original of the Species. More info from the album page here. New Members Our new members this month are Keeper76 and Jort227. We have now reached 40 members. The Album The album was released on October 30, 2000. It debuted at #1 in 28 countries and sold over 12 million copies worldwide. This album marked the end of U2's experimental phase in the 90's. However, they did not really return to their more traditional rock sound until How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Rolling Stone called it "U2's third masterpiece". The song "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was written by Bono for his late friend, Michael Hutchence. U2 News On September 28, Bono was jointly awarded the Philadelphia Liberty Medal along with DATA. The medal is awarded to recognize leadership in the pursuit of freedom. Three U.S. Presidents, Nelson Mandela, Viktor Yushchenko, Colin Powell and Kofi Annan are among those who have been awarded it. In his acceptance speech, Bono spoke of those who don't have their liberty and urged Americans to keep working to solve the world's problems. More info here. U23D, U2's upcoming movie, will not be released until early next year. U2's recent biography, U2 By U2, is now available in paperback in the U.S. The 20th anniversary edition of The Joshua Tree will be released soon; the bonus content includes the Red Hill Mining Town video, often sought by fans. From the Editors Welcome to the November edition of the WikiProject U2 Newsletter. This month's theme is Zooropa, one of U2's most experimental albums. We hope you enjoy reading it! New Members The Album Zooropa was released on July 6, 1993. This album, along with Pop, is considered one of U2's most experimental. It was originally slated to be an EP, but expanded into an LP. It was recorded in between legs on the Zoo TV Tour. Zooropa features a rare lead singing performance by The Edge, on the song Numb. The names of three unfinished songs from the recording sessions -"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", "If You Wear That Velvet Dress", and "Wake Up Dead Man"- appear superimposed on the cover; "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" was used in the Batman Forever soundtrack, and "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" and "Wake Up Dead Man" were included on 1997's "Pop". "Numb" was released in an unlikely format as the first "video single"; the "Numb" video is thought of as one of U2's best. "Some Days are Better Than Others" is the only track to have never been played live. The singles from Zooropa are "Numb", "Lemon", and "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"

I haven't been too active recently because I'm finishing a Master's degree but I'll have some more free time coming up. We have a lot of great people working on the project, including professional guitarists and even luthiers. We have the potential to write a lot of great articles. Notability of Heart of Sun

I'm going crazy now, because I apparently forgot to add the source when I typed that, and now I can't find the PDF. Will find it soon.
