Speedy deletion nomination of Vuori
editA tag has been placed on Vuori requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - MrX 21:11, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation
editHi Aguilus. I wanted to let you know that there is no need to create disambiguation pages unless there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which a word or phrase might be expected to lead. Please see WP:DAB for more information and let me know if you need any help. - MrX 21:18, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
The article Vuorela has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Redirect with only one link
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Piguy101 (talk) 21:54, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Eeva-Kaarina Volanen
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Eeva-Kaarina Volanen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. - MrX 11:07, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
The article Pekka Vuori has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Dates
editHallo Aguilus, I've noticed a couple of stubs you have created where you use a non-standard format for people's dates (eg "(February 15.1924 – April 20.2007) " for Pentti Lehto). MOS:DATEFORMAT says that Wikipedia uses either "((February 15, 1924 – April 20, 2007)" (US format) or "(15 February 1924 – 20 April 2007)" (UK format). Please use one or other of these in future. There is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it is an interesting journey. Happy Editing! PamD 22:58, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

- @Ascii002:: I have removed the nomination: acting in 47 films and getting a national honour is a sufficient claim of significance and importance to make this article ineligible for A7. But, @Aguilus:, please now add some references to reliable published works, not just IMDb (which I've added), to source and expand the information about him. PamD 12:10, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

- @Ascii002: This artist is clearly notable, listed in a notable Finnish encyclopedia. There is a reference which neither you (probably) nor I can understand, but sources do not have to be in English. A quick Google search shows plenty of hits for this, and I quickly found him described as "The outstanding Finnish expressionist painter". Please don't be so hasty to slap an A7 on serious articles like these. (But @Aguilus: please be sure to assert the subject's importance - you need to say something like "was a Finnish artist whose works are in major collections" , or "was a major Finnish expressionist artist" to make it obvious to other editors why you are asserting that this person deserves an encyclopedia article.)
