Marcel Proust Cleanup
editYeah, you can just remove the tag when you think the cleanup is done. Sometimes there's a central listing which should also be removed. In this case, that would be Wikipedia:Cleanup/June, but it looks like one was never made for this article. Thanks for your help, Beland 06:07, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
J. R. Ackerley
editHi, Ahpsp,
You added to J. R. Ackerley an observation that We Think the World of You is in part about "the (homosexual) narrator's frustrated relationship with Queenie's (heterosexual) owner." I think I know what you mean here, and probably agree with it, but I would like to clarify what you mean. In what sense did you mean that the relationship was frustrated? Since there's a scene in the novel in which the two have sex the relationship isn't entirely frustrated, although obviously Frank's relationship was frustrated throughout most of the novel by Johnny's being in jail. It would also seem more accurate to me to describe Johnny as bisexual. Anyway, those are just some thoughts. I'd be interested to hear what you think of them. - Thanks for the prompt reply. I thought that was more or less what you intended. Will think about how the entry might be changed, unless you want to change it yourself. I see your point about bisexuality. There are more possibilities than I considered; and perhaps it gives us an interesting view into British society of the time. Hi, Andrew. I saw your revision of the article. I think it would be good to retain your point about the frustrated relationship, though, perhaps by saying that the relationship was largely frustrated. As it stands, though, your revision is certainly accurate. Thanks for your help. John FitzGerald 15:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
