Template:Anon vandal

Hi, I just tried to use Template:Anon vandal and noticed you deleted it. I disagree that it was unused, I used it all the time. I also don't think it was duplicative, as it served a different purpose than the usual uw-vx ones, since it encourage anonymous users to get an account. --AW (talk) 17:57, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

OK; I've restored it. Nice to meet you, Airplaneman 03:55, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Cool, thanks! And likewise. --AW (talk) 06:22, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Template:Anon vandal

Deleted Page

I am confused as to why the page i created was deleted. I would like to resubmit the article with further information if allowed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iroka (talkcontribs) 19:35, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi Iroka. The page in question, Lil' ryan, does not meet our notability requirements for biographies and qualified for deletion under this criterion in our deletion policy. Hope this clears things up; if it doesn't, keep asking. I'm sorry your work couldn't be kept; as en encyclopedia, some boundaries need to be set so content can be of consistent scope and quality. Black women filmmakers

Hello Airplaneman,

I recreated a page for Black women filmmakers for my first attempt was done incorrectly. I decided to keep the same title and have submitted it for review. Would you please remove the tag so that it is not deleted automatically but rather looked at first. Thank you for your help.

Framanda (talk) 05:05, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Looks like the page is back up. I will keep an eye on it, and please ask if you have questions. Airplaneman 20:04, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I definitely would like to do everything possible to ensure that this page stays up. Would you please give me suggestions on how to improve the article so that it does not get deleted? Thank you.

Framanda (talk) 03:47, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Try addressing the issues raised by the banners, called maintenance tags, at the top of the page. They provide links that explain in detail what needs to be done. I also noticed that it is not sourced well and contains opinions (e.g. group of underrepresented women) and "weasel words". Regards, Airplaneman 22:59, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

I stole from you!

I totally stole your Guestbook style here. Although, I did not realize that you had the same picture as your edit notice as I use in my guestbook, me must have similar taste.. :DTofutwitch11 (TALK) 01:08, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Nice! It's not really stealing, though, because it's free content. I'll go and sign it ;) Airplaneman 20:26, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Ahhh, finally

I finally removed all the articles that transcluded the {{NASCAR Owner Infobox}}. Do you believe we should redirect the template to the new one: {{Infobox NASCAR team}} or delete it? Nascar1996 19:54, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

I believe it falls under WP:T3 as deprecated, superseded, and unused. I would add {{db-duplicatetemplate|~~~~~|Infobox NASCAR team}} to the template and after seven days if there are no objections it will be deleted. Airplaneman 20:02, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Nascar1996 20:38, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for protecting my draft.

I sent the link in a thread on Newgrounds asking for them to help out with the article, however they decided to be trolls. Sorry for wasting any of your precious time. SixthAtom (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:02, 14 December 2010 (UTC).

No worries; I'm here because I want to be, so I don't consider the time I donate wasted. Glad I could help, and nice to meet you. I'll keep an eye on the draft. Happy editing, Airplaneman 02:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
A tip: Facebook is not a reliable source, so I suggest you find another site to source your info. Airplaneman 03:27, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again, I moved the draft into mainspace. I was wondering if you think the article is ready to stay or go back. SixthAtom (talk) 17:20, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

you deleted my Street Radio page

Hello airplaneman! I am writing you to inquire why you deleted the Street Radio page I just created and had only begun working on. The article was far from complete, but I was clear that Street Radio is a known production company, and I added links to many of the tracks they've done for major label artists, including 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes. I had yet to include the many episodes of MTV Cribs that they've done music for. There was nothing promotional about the article. I was simply listing their discography. Why the delete? And can you give me some advice on what I should do differently? I've reviewed the criteria, and Street Radio met the following criteria:

Has had a work used as the basis for a later composition by a songwriter, composer or lyricist who meets the above criteria. - I had already linked over a dozen major label placements, but you can see them credited here:

http://www.discogs.com/artist/Street+Radio

Has credit for writing or co-writing either lyrics or music for a notable composition. - They are properly credited in all album liner notes

Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart? - They produced "I Like The Way She Do It", the first single off 50 Cent's G-Unit: T.O.S. album in 2008.

Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network. - "I Like The Way She Do It" was in rotation nationally and internationally.

Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country. - Street Radio produced "9mm" off Bone Thugs N Harmony's Strength & Loyalty album released on Interscope Records. The album is RIAA certified Gold.

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Streetradio (talkcontribs) 04:54, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi streetradio; the page did read a bit like it was made to promote the organization, and that coupled with the username of the person who created it (yours: Streetradio (talk · contribs)) prompted me to delete the page. It may meet the notability guidelines for organizations, however, and I encourage you to work on a draft at User:Streetradio/Street Radio, with plenty (at least 10) reliable, third-party sources to back up key information (the stuff that asserts notability). I just took a look at the version you posted and it looks like you were trying to make a chart of sorts, listing things associated with the company (I think this is why it was tagged as an advertisement. As an aside, I created an article which as tagged as an advertisement when I first signed up, and it stays deleted for a reason ;). That's not the point of a Wikipedia article (Wikipedia:Your first article may have more helpful tips). For an encyclopedia entry, one seeks to learn about the company. I found a similar article that give a picture of what I mean: Mr. Lady Records. Try a similar layout for that.
I will be away until next year, so if you have further questions, by all means ask, but just know I won't reply in a timely manner. Happy editing, and happy new year! Airplaneman 22:53, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Just something you might be interested in

The ambassador program is looking for lots of ambassadors for the Spring term. I realize you're planning to be on break into February, and I'm not sure what your schedule is like after that, but just take a look. I think you would be a terrific ambassador. If you've been notified about this before and I somehow missed it, you can trout me for being a bad tps. Happy break and Merry Christmas! PrincessofLlyr royal court 14:56, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I've been seriously considering it, but as of right now, I am hesitant about joining. The next few months (years, actually) for me seem rather busy, and I may not be consistently available. In addition, I am not up to putting in the extra effort to do this. However, I may probably will change my mind in the future. I'll be on vacation starting tomorrow afternoon until next year, and the place I'm going to doesn't have reliable internet. So if you don't see this before 17:00 UTC tomorrow, chance are I won't reply until next year. Merry Christmas and happy 2011 to you as well! Airplaneman 22:18, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I took some convincing too. But as far as I see it, they probably aren't going to have enough ambassadors, and even a semi-active mentor is better than none. Happy vacation! (Oh, and like a good tps, I'll be watching your page while you're gone.) PrincessofLlyr royal court 05:05, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Rlevse's talk page

He was renamed but his original talk page still has {{retired}} on it. Should the page be deleted? Inka888 05:50, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) No, because it confirms that Rlevse is retired. HeyMid (contribs) 18:00, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Why leave on that on his old talk page after he was renamed? Inka888 02:44, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Because he was well-known and people will want to know that he was retired? /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 04:01, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Inka888 05:38, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Actually, his talk page history remains at User_talk:Rlevse, so deleting it would remove all the history from that talk page from 2005. The vanished user's talk page just has the retired template, but no edit history unrelated to it. HeyMid (contribs) 10:26, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi again!

Hey airplaneman, I'm back (for today only), cause I'm going to Japan a few hours later. Have you noticed that ClueBot NG is taking over most of the rollbackers' edits? I need to find something new to work on, and I'm a bit bored of reviewing new pages. Could you give me some suggestions? Merry Christmas! I am a violinisttalk to me here! 14:25, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)Hi! Airplaneman is on vacation too! So he doesn't have internet access for a while, and won't be able to respond to this question.   Just so you know. Brambleclawx 14:52, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Hello Violinist :). ClueBot is quite good at catching many Maybe you could try your hand at copyediting (see WP:GOCE) or doing some work on a subject you're interested in, maybe joining a WikiProject to do so. Airplaneman 23:59, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I've choosen to copy edit The Annoying Orange, and I don't wan't to waste my effort if someone else is copy editing it as well. So, is there any sign that I can put onto the page to say that it is being copy editing? :D I am a violinisttalk to me here! 11:10, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Page Deleted

Hi,

I have created the page "UNIVERSITY RANKING BY ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE (URAP)" previously but you have deleted it. Could you please let me know what to do now in order to republish it.

Best regards,

Oguzhan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oguzhanalasehir (talkcontribs) 09:36, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello Oguzhan - it was deleted because it did not assert the importance/notability of the subject at hand (the page was tagged with {{db-corp}}. To be honest, I am not sure if the subject is notable enough for a standalone article, but I notice it has its own section here, which you can add information to. If you need anything, just drop by and give me a shout. Airplaneman 01:48, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I think it requires a new article since there are other university ranking systems which have their own wiki pages. Could you please let me know if you want to know more about URAP.

Best regards Oguzhan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oguzhanalasehir (talkcontribs) 23:10, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi. This page explains what I want to say in detail; although there are other ranking system pages, how is URAP notable? I personally am not interested in URAP, but I am sure many others, like you, would like to know as much as possible about the topic. I encourage you to add more to what is already here, although I do recall the page you created about URAP was on the short side. Regards, Airplaneman 23:15, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Invitation to join WikiProject United States

Hello, Airplaneman/Archive 26! WikiProject United States, an outreach effort supporting development of United States related articles in Wikipedia, has recently been restarted after a long period of inactivity. As a user who has shown an interest in United States related topics we wanted to invite you to join us in developing content relating to the United States. If you are interested please add your Username and area of interest to the members page here. Thank you!!!

--Kumioko (talk) 21:47, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the invitation. I've considered it, but I am not nearly active enough to contribute much to the project, although I do wish it well. Airplaneman 23:42, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

PJ refs

I've been bugging all the members of PJTF lately as I try to add references to Luke Castellan without ever having even read the series. So now, it's your turn!   Do you know which book (and hopefully which page) it says that Luke has ADHD (or is this OR inference since he's also a demigod?) Brambleclawx 02:06, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I think I can answer this one. I would have to check for sure, but Percy is one of the only demigods confirmed with ADHD. There's a conversation between Annabeth and Percy near the beginning of TLT where she lists some of the indications of being a half-blood, one of which is ADHD. From that, everyone (myself included) assumes that all demigods have it. It's supposedly caused by their brains being hardwired for ancient Greek. I'll check the books tomorrow for sure, but I don't think it ever specifically says Luke has it. PrincessofLlyr royal court 04:36, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Princess, what you mean is dyslexia is caused by hardwiring to read ancient Greek, and ADHD is for battle skills. I suppose the dyslexia is also inferred? Brambleclawx 01:59, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Uhm... can anyone direct me to which book says that Luke got the curse of Achilles? Brambleclawx 19:00, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, dislexia is inferred; I think that borders original research, so looking for specific mentions is good. Also try third party sources (I know these are hard to come by). I remember reading about Luke getting the curse of Achilles, but it has been a while, and I can't remember where. Try the fifth book. Airplaneman 19:15, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Talk:Move That Body (Nelly song)

Could you attend to the request at this page please? You may remember why you protected it originally. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:27, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Airplaneman is currently on break, so it may be a little while before he sees this. PrincessofLlyr royal court 17:29, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
I think it was a dispute of some sort, with people warring over whether to create a separate article or redirect it (it did not meet notability guidelines). I will both fulfill the request and unprotect the article, as the protection is no longer necessary. Thank you for telling me about this. Airplaneman 23:08, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
