Speedy deletion nomination of Mark Dougan

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mark Dougan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of John M. Dougan

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on John M. Dougan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of File:John M Dougan 2015.jpg

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:John M Dougan 2015.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://www.quora.com/Are-Vladimir-Putins-shirts-suits-and-shoes-Russian-or-foreign. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 01:40, 20 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your ArbCom Request

edit

Hello I just wanted to stop by and give some friendly advice. I think your ArbCom Request is extremely premature, think of ArbCom as the supreme court they only deal with things which have been inadequately dealt with in the lower courts, such as WP:ANI. So far the only steps taken have been a discussion amongst yourselves which is admirable and the correct first step, but the next step is to gather community input at ANI, before jumping to the top of the justice system in Wikipedia. I have no opinion on anything which happened between you two and have no interest in getting involved, but thought I would try and drop a friendly note here suggesting withdrawing the request at ArbCom and filing it at ANI instead (I'm pretty sure this will end up being the case anyway, ArbCom doesn't normally take cases if the lower court has seen it yet). McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 19:07, 20 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your input. I appreciate the friendly note; I am always willing to listen to to experience; I only wish reddogsix would do the same. Forgive me, but I am not sure what ANI means. Frankly, I am incredibly frustrated at Wikipedia and I don't see the point in writing in the future for this site. I'm sure there are many others that feel the same, and people like Reddogsix are going to infuriate so many beginner users, that when it comes time for people like him, and you, to leave Wikipedia, there's going to be no one left to give a damn about the site.

I will withdraw the complaint. Aleksandra E. Borodina (talk) 20:49, 20 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) To clarify: "ANI" refers to the administrators' noticeboard for incidents—see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. It is a centralized location where a wide variety of user conduct issues may be brought to the attention of Wikipedia administrators and discussed. A community consensus at ANI has the authority to impose editing restrictions, up to and including a site-ban. The first step in dispute resolution is always to communicate directly with the editors with whom you have a dispute. If that fails to achieve a resolution, ANI is typically the next step to receive broader input in a user conduct dispute. As McMatter stated, a request for arbitration is the last step for resolving a user conduct dispute, to be employed when all other dispute resolution methods have failed.
