Flag icons on ship article infoboxes

edit

Please note that flag icons only hold meaning to ship articles in regard to the question of the Port of Registry for the ship (ie: under what flag does the ship sail). Because of this, I reverted this edit on the MS Oasis of the Seas article. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:25, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

FYI: The "Turku Finland" information refers to the physical location of the shipyard where the construction was done by the builder. This is documented here. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:39, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but that has nothing to do with the builder - that information belongs to location, not to the builder, who is STX Europe. Alohahell (talk) 19:40, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the way it should have been worded (as is common in other ship articles) is "STX Europe yards in Turku Finland". --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:42, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
The builder is STX Europe, not "STX Europe yards". There is no shipbuilder company called "STX Europe yards". "Turku Finland" doesn't belong here, it should go to the location section. Alohahell (talk) 19:47, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
There is no "built location" field. It has never been needed before because the use in other ship articles has been to place the physical location of the shipyard used by the builder in the "built" field. I'll bring this up at WT:SHIPS so that input from others involved in ship articles can also review this issue. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:51, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
FYI: A discussion has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#Request additional input on the use of the "Ship builder" field. Your input at that discussion page would be appreciated. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 20:02, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stop violating copyrights by uploading copyrighted photos and claiming they were your own work. File:Shinsegae Centum City department store in Busan, South Korea.jpg was not your own work, and now I am going to have to check the rest of your uploads as well.

If you continue violating copyrights, your account will be blocked. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:54, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

No problem and no need to threaten me like that (so scared now!! LOL), I have a picture I took of the department store while I was in Busan last summer, that will do, right? ^^ Alohahell (talk) 16:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
In the meantime, would you care to tell me which other photo uploads of yours are photos you did not take? rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 17:05, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I only uploaded the department store pic from guinness world records because I couldn't find a nice looking night view of it. Trust me, it looks way better at night with LED lighting all over it!! But I do have a day view of it, which still looks nice. All other pictures as far as I know, are all mine and edited with PhotoScape. What do you think of my pics btw? ^^ Alohahell (talk) 17:09, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and you have ignored my previous question.. -_-;
File:World's largest department store in Busan, South Korea.jpg is, no offense, a rather low-quality image—low resolution, dull colors, lots of aliasing. If you're such a talented photographer and you have access to such great views and editing software, may I ask why this image is so much worse than the rest of the images you've uploaded? rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 17:37, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
LOL I'm NOT a talented photographer. Thanks for the compliment, but I'm really not. ;) Alohahell (talk) 05:30, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
So, in other words, you didn't photograph most of the pictures you've uploaded. Right? rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 23:37, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Did I say that? No. I rejected your compliment, that's all. My photographs are vastly better than the ones in Wikipedia. Don't you think? I've made many articles much better with my photographs. Alohahell (talk) 07:05, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
No, adding copyvio to articles does not improve them.
And by the way, I never intended what I said as a compliment. You have not done anything deserving of compliment. I was merely pointing out the inconsistency in the claims you make about your uploads. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 06:35, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! :) How did you get into North Korea to take that photo of the hotel? Isn't it illegal to take photos in the country? Glad you made it out alive! :) Brisbane Man (talk) 13:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ryugyong Hotel under construction on 26 August 2009.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ryugyong Hotel under construction on 26 August 2009.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Look, you better quit that shit. It's tedious to have to go through all the files you uploaded to see if you didn't blatantly lie about them like you did with the two above. We're not your babysitters. I suggest you refrain from uploading files altogether. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:43, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

To track your images

edit

Due to your history of uploading copyright images, I'm adding this gallery of your images. This is incomplete, but well...since all don't have EXIF, and some of the images' angle were taken from helicopter, I strongly believe that those are not your images. If you can provide "original file" with EXIF, that would clear any suspicion over your image contribution. Regards. --Caspian blue 05:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
