Oregon Law
editPer your note to another user, I thought you should know that the Oregon Legislative Counsel Committee won't be pursuing any copyright claims re: the ORS. Whew. It's still a bad idea to post the text of bills, of course. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 05:22, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Valfontis: Well, that certainly is good to hear—though under WP:NFC posting the full text might still be a bad idea. I'm sorry to see you've had some trouble with the page author; thanks for maintaining a reasonable level of patience given the circumstances. Hopefully everything works out. Though I have to say, your state legislature is awesome! (you've probably seen this already). Thanks, Altamel (talk) 05:51, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't even have to look, it has to be Rick Astley! :) And yes, they are. Valfontis (talk) 05:57, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hello: Regarding this edit: Consensus is that all edicts of government, without exception, including laws of Oregon, are public domain in the United States: Wikipedia:Public domain#Works ineligible for copyright protection and #Public records. This consensus seems to be based on case law and the position of the US Copyright Office. I am under the impression that there is no consensus to remove such material only because a state government wrongly claims it is copyrighted. However, Bills introduced into a legislature, which have not been passed by that legislature, are not laws or "edicts of government". So Senate Bill 166 isn't a law and will presumably be copyrighted for that reason. Best regards. James500 (talk) 23:13, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

editYour post on my talk page is blasphemy and lies. How can you say anything is 'fact' when there is no evidence that everything we see isn't just a hallucination or an illusion? reality is just what the world collectively agrees is true. When someone experiences a hallucination we say what they see or hear isn't real because the majority do not sense it, but in reality there is no evidence what we sense is even there. Everything is opinion, even the so called 'facts' on this website. If this is such an 'objective' site, why should the opinion of the minority on what constitutes 'fact' be censored because of the opinion of the majority? Nothing in the end has any proof of reality, and fact itself is nothing but a fragile and false concept. Such clinging to concepts such as that is petty and illogical. Besides, it has a citation. I've done my research on this, this is objectively true — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lily1155 (talk • contribs) 04:11, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

editI'm new at this but I have some information for the Mel Gibson page for u. I heard all this straight from my Gramma, who was friends with him when he lived on the Beartooth and heard this from him she even bought his Suburban when he went off to film Braveheart. He wasn't looking forwardto filming that movie) : [Mel bought (for 2 mil) and lived on the Beartooth Ranch, between Columbus and Big Timber in Montana from the 80's to the 90's. His parents considered Montana to be their home and the Beartooth Ranch was Mel's escape from the stress and politics of Hollywood.]Sconant93 (talk) 15:10, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Mel Gibson page
editHey I was on the Mel gibson page and ir wouldn't let me edit it and it was locked for vandalism protection and I notice that the top of the page it said you were the last one to edit it so I figured you were able to edit. So maybe then you'd be able to add that information cuz I can't. Sorry I'm new at this I just started today I was hearing this information straight from Grandma and I felt like I should add it. Didnt know how to open discussion Sconant93 (talk) 21:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Sconant93: Got it. I'm sorry, I got a little flustered and should have posted here instead. Let's keep any future comments on this page, that was my bad for splitting the thread up. Altamel (talk) 21:11, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

- @Sconant93: These two sources [1][2] corroborate some of what your grandmother said. You can use them to file a semi-protected edit request at Talk:Mel Gibson. Follow the instructions here. Altamel (talk) 21:25, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
It is done
editIt is done, my friend! As of yesterday, the article on Özdere is fully completed like I said I would when you congratulated me, with images, citations and all, and nominated for DYK. I encourage you to provide feedback and to contribute yourself, I would love to see this article eventually reach WP:GA or WP:FA. Wishing you the best, Coderenius (☎) 17:11, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
- Great! At a brief glance I'd say the article may need some more sources before GA. It's difficult for me to make a detailed review at this time because my Internet connection is spotty, so I'll have to read through the sources later. I'm also going to make some comments on the GA page. Altamel (talk) 05:38, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
RfD Notice
editI removed the notice from the page because I didn't see the listing at RfD. Where do you see it? Compassionate727 (talk) 17:36, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
- @User:Compassionate727: TheChampionMan1234 added it to the discussion "Malaixiya" which was re-listed today, so you can find it WP:RfD. The addition was out-of-process, which probably explains why you couldn't find it. I'm fixing the RfD link now. Altamel (talk) 17:43, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

editI didn't know if you would be interested in reviewing Sagadahoc Bridge, another page I created. Thanks either way 331dot (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- @331dot Done There are few sentences that follow the original source a bit more closely (see WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASING) than I am comfortable with. I fixed the beginning of the Name and History sections, which I think takes care of the most egregious instances, though you might want to double-check the rest of the article as well. The article does seem notable, so there are no other issues. Good work! Altamel (talk) 15:58, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

- P.S. It's amazing how long vandalism manages to stay on school articles. If you want a good laugh, check out these edits to Parish Hill High School. editThank you for your message on my talk page. In regards to the article you mentioned I tagged it with G1 as it was a wall of uncyclopedic text, incomprehensible in its form at then, with little value for Wikipedia. In hindsight, I could have tagged it wit G12 as well/instead, and I will try to be more careful in the future :) Kebabpizza (talk) 10:04, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
I think you gave the wrong warning
editSee mine. Krett12 (talk) 15:37, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Krett12 Hmm, I should been more careful with the revert edit summary. When I see an edit that inserts information that doesn't seem true my custom is to revert and mark it "unsourced", as an assumption of good faith, in case it was true. However, it is obvious that nobody is "king of the world", so I probably should have used a more precise edit summary. These were typical juvenile test edits, going around calling oneself "king of the world"— but labeling those edits "deliberate factual errors" seemed a bit harsh. When I went to place the user warning, I realized that the text of {{uw-unsourced1}} says "if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so", which would be bad advice for this instance, since there is no way to source a false statement! Upon reflection, I would have used an edit summary like "probably not true" and left {{uw-error1}} on their user talk instead. By the way, are you new to vandalism patrol? Altamel (talk) 15:49, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- I am not "new", people just patronize me for no reason. Krett12 (talk) 23:43, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ANI discussion
editThanks for the suggestion, which should have been an obvious thing to do. I'm going to have to stop editing Wikipedia after being up all night. I filed an SPI report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Isla Riordan and another 38 accounts were found. --AussieLegend (✉) 03:50, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- @User:AussieLegend Well, thanks for your hard work staying up all night to defend Wikipedia. I'll keep an eye out for any accounts behaving similarly and add them to the SPI. By the way, how did you find all those accounts? Is there some kind of tool to search for specific URLs in the page history? This might be useful for when I'm patrolling recent changes. Altamel (talk) 03:58, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- I first noticed the changes at a few articles on my watchlist and saw that some were being repeated by different users so I checked each user's edits. That's where I got the different urls. I then used Special:LinkSearch to search for articles linking to the urls.watch.movietv.bizviewhd.mepopulartoday.biz --AussieLegend (✉) 04:14, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks. Apparently the spammers are still at it: I've added another two accounts to the SPI. Altamel (talk) 04:23, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

editHello there Altamel! It's so exciting to notify you again after all this time, first off I'd like to thank you for the wonderful Christmas/New Year's message! Might be a bit late, though. Happy St. Patrick's Day (it's still March 17th in Miami time right now) as well, if you celebrate that! Have you heard the news? The little article I'd been working on since my beginnings as an editor, Dilek Peninsula-Büyük Menderes Delta National Park, is now a good article! Thank you so much for your help in my journey as a contributor to the site, you've really been one of the pioneers of my success here. As a side note, you've already offered your take on the Özdere article on its talk page, but I still welcome you to help in the GAN process, since I intend on nominating it for GA very soon. Cheers, and the best to you! Coderenius (☎) 02:57, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

- Apologies for the ambiguity, and thanks for helping to clear the edit request backlog. I assume that marking an edit request as "answered" means that it has received a response, and as you gave a very thorough evaluation that I completely agree with, I deactivated the edit request template so that it no longer shows up in the backlog and no longer needs the attention of other patrollers. It does not mean I approved every edit, as some are still a bit close to the original wording as you pointed out. I have offered some suggestions on the talk page. Thanks, Altamel (talk) 19:47, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, both, for your assistance. If either of you is willing to address the removal of Blackstone Group from the infobox, I'd be grateful. Smithfield Foods
editThank you for responding to my edit request for the Smithfield Foods page. There are several other areas of the page that are outdated or inaccurate and I would be more than happy to work with you on making those edits. I am respectful of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy and have made no edits to the page myself. Specifically, the governance section is very out of date (ie C. Larry Pope is no longer the CEO). Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremy Smithfield (talk • contribs) 14:17, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- You are welcome. You can post other requested changes on Talk:Smithfield Foods with the format "after sentence WXYZ, please insert the sentence ABC" or "please remove QQQ and replace it with RRR." I don't always have time to address requested edits. Posting on the article talk page gives other moderators a chance to answer before I can. Be sure to support the requested change with a reliable source. If there is any possibility that the claim you are making is disputable, use a source other than the company's website or press releases. For example, claiming that C. Larry Pope is no longer the CEO is not disputable. Smithfield Foods would have no incentive to misrepresent that fact, and so their website can be trusted. On the other hand, an event such as "an FDA investigation cleared XYZ Inc. of wrongdoing" could be interpreted differently depending on the source, so Wikipedia cannot take XYZ's word for it. Altamel (talk) 18:42, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will do that. (Jeremy Smithfield (talk) 20:41, 25 May 2016 (UTC))

editYeah about that I merely meant to tag the article for the fact that it had an unreliable source (Facebook- which I didn't check for copyvio). Unfortunately, my installation of Twinkle automatically marks any page that I tag as reviewed. Feinoha Talk 04:09, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

August 2016
editHello Altamel. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. - KGirlTrucker81, I left the user a message in response to the question they asked on the article [3]. They were clearly using the article to ask a question, and most new page patrollers I've seen never even bother to answer those inquiries. That hardly seems like being impatient to me. Granted, I should have waited longer before tagging, but please believe me when I say this is the first time I have been this hasty, as this case seemed so clear cut. I can't count all the times I've refreshed and refreshed on a new page waiting for the clock to hit ten minutes, only for another new page patroller to CSD the page first. Altamel (talk) 02:01, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem with it. I suggest you to rewiew new pages older ten mintues. KGirlTrucker81 talk what I'm been doing 02:06, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Verizon Fios "History"
editHi, Altamel. I was wondering if you can take another look at my draft for the Verizon Fios History section we discussed recently. You'll recall that you reviewed the draft and took issue with two parts in particular. I have revised those in my draft, and I hope you think it's better suited for incorporation into the article. You can see my last note to you from August 22 here. I'm also going to post a note to a relevant WikiProject to see if others can look at this too, to get more feedback here. Thank you again for your time with this. VZBob (talk) 12:22, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
Quantum Corporation
editHi, Altamel. I noticed you made some updates to the Quantum Corporation page earlier today to help remove some of the promotional writing. On their talk page, I submitted several requests for edits as a result of a COI and I was wondering if you'd have the time to help review and make any of the requested edits you feel are appropriate and abide by Wikipedia's guidelines. The majority of the updates are correcting some misinformation as well as updating the article to include some more current information on Quantum and their products. Sources are included, as well. If you have any questions about or issues with any of the requested edits, please let me know so I can help answer or address the issue. If you have the time and are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. JessicaWinski (talk) 18:20, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I did see the edit requests, as they are what drew my attention to the article's precarious state. I will try to address your edit requests, but only after cleaning up the article first. Unfortunately, you may find that the article has been drastically trimmed once I'm through with it, as I have not been able to verify most of the existing text with reliable sources. Too much of the article as it stands is sourced only to press releases. Altamel (talk) 18:34, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I'll double check the sources I provided for my requested edits, some may be press releases but I will see if I can find additional sources to help limit the amount of research you have to do on your end. Again, please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!JessicaWinski (talk) 18:42, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, Altamel - I spoke with the client about trying to identify sources for the areas of the Quantum page that are missing citations, and what we've found is that much of the information needing citations is old, outdated and not really relevant to Quantum anymore. I know Wikipedia functions as an Encyclopedia and we want to keep as much historical background as possible, but wondering if it's possible to just remove those areas - since we can't find sources and it's no longer relevant. Just wanted to ask the question and get some feedback on if that's a possibility or if finding sources and keeping that information is necessary. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and thanks again for all of your help! JessicaWinski (talk) 16:07, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

- I'll take another look when I get the time. Thank you for complying with the conflict of interest editing guidelines. I am a bit skeptical of the awards section: I think I can work a mention of the cell phones program in, but I'm not convinced that the Healthiest Employers award is significant since companies nominate themselves for it and must pay to attend the awards ceremony. The changes you made are good, but the tone of the article still doesn't feel as dispassionate as the average Wikipedia article. Altamel (talk) 00:53, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

"Should there be an edit filter applied to all new pages that prevents non-autoconfirmed accounts from removing CSD tags?"
editI saw this comment from you at a recent RfC. Are you aware of this having been discussed before? If so, I missed it and would be grateful for the hint. Regards, Samsara 02:07, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Samsara – No. This was a hypothetical example I created to illustrate the potential overreach of Wikipedia's protection policy. Now that I think of it, there is an edit filter that tags edits as "new users removing speedy deletion tags". However, the edit filter is not set to disallow such edits, as it would be bad policy to assume bad faith for all new accounts. Nevertheless, I hope my words do not inadvertently inspire the creation of this tool. Altamel (talk) 04:05, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Fiscal year 2016 totalled sales were $117.35 billion, up 13.4% from $103.44 in fiscal 2015, and GAAP net earnings decreased to $4.17 billion." NOVA episodes
editAbout the #novapbs special named "Visions Of Star Wars," it's the first partnership with another 'GBH programme, FRONTLINE. In 2000 aired "What's Up With The Weather?" and in 2001, "Harvest Of Fear," both narrated by Will Lyman, well-known as the voice of FRONTLINE. Thank you for your comprehension. I know, 'cause the episode of 1984, "Jaws: The True Story," was adapted from another BBC programme, "The World About Us." See the BBC version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEZmm1erP-k (VHS rip). Vinko Milić (talk) 20:01, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Vinko Milić. I don't quite understand the message that you left me above. I don't doubt that your edits are factually accurate—your edits to the list of NOVA episodes were reverted not because they were incorrect, but because they copied episode descriptions word for word from NOVA's website. That isn't permitted because NOVA's website is protected by copyright. Wikipedia is not allowed to copy the exact wording of episode descriptions without permission from the copyright holder, especially because Wikipedia guarantees that anyone is allowed to freely reuse text from our articles, so it is even more important that Wikipedia articles remain free of copyright infringements.
- I'm sorry that I had to revert all of your edits, seeing as you must have worked very hard on the article. Unfortunately, those reversions were required by Wikipedia policy. You must be a fan of public media, yes? You are welcome to help Wikipedia expand its coverage of public television programs, but just be sure to cite your sources and write in your own words. That is to say, don't copy text from other websites, restate the information with your own wordings so that it no longer resembles the source where you found the information. Good luck! Nuveen
editHi – My name is Jake Holtgrewe, and I work on digital and social media strategy for Nuveen. We noticed that several elements of Nuveen’s Wikipedia page are becoming outdated, and I wanted to see what we can do to help provide more current information around such items as assets under management, descriptions of our business, etc. Given Wikipedia’s guidelines around self-editing, I imagine it would be more appropriate to include the relevant facts/updates on the discussion page rather than making edits directly to the site itself. Since you have updated the page in the past, I thought you would be a good person to try and contact.
As a starting point, I would direct people to this recent article in Barrons ([1]), which includes the following statistics/updates:
• As a description of our firm, I would suggest: “Nuveen is the asset management arm of TIAA, which purchased Nuveen in 2014.” • Nuveen’s Assets Under Management are $882 billion as of December 31, 2016 • Nuveen is the world’s 15th largest mutual fund company, with $169 billion invested in 164 funds • Also, while it is not cited in the article, Nuveen currently has approximately 3,000 employees
Thanks much, and I look forward to continuing this dialogue.

Draft submission
editHi, you commented on my draft submission but how would I make it notable as a standalone article? Marquette University has their own along with other universities. Thanks! 80atUO (talk) 20:08, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- That's the rub: I think it's unlikely that UO Special Collections is notable as a standalone article. You can prove that the topic is notable by finding multiple reliable/independent sources that cover the special collections in detail. So far, all of the draft's independent sources (the news articles) only discuss the Special Collections very briefly, and the rest of the sources were published by the University of Oregon, so they're not considered independent. It's not that I think UO Special Collections is insignificant; clearly they are a valuable resource. But I can tell you from experience that I don't predict a standalone article about UO Special Collections would survive a deletion discussion. You would have to make a very strong case against merging the special collections article into Knight Library, by finding a lot of independent sources.
- Marquette University is different because they don't have a separate article about their library. Furthermore, just because other universities have separate articles about special collections doesn't mean those articles are notable – see "other stuff exists". I lean inclusionist, so I'm not going to nominate Marquette's special collection for deletion. But the Wikipedia editors who monitor new articles tend to be more deletionist, and I don't want to see your article go up before a deletion discussion.
- Finally, consider this. If you merge UO Special Collections into Knight Library, the information will be much more visible to Wikipedia readers. Knight Library averages about 9 pageviews a day. Go and check the pageviews of other university special collections articles, and you will see that they struggle to hit 2 pageviews a day. Whereas a standalone article for the UO Special Collections would have very few incoming links (probably only from Knight Library), hence the paucity of readers. Altamel (talk) 21:33, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, then I think I will just request someone to edit that into the Knight Library and University of Oregon page. I was just confused how Marquette University had a very short and brief page, but that makes sense now. Would I use {Request Edit} on the Knight library talk page to have someone add this for me due to my COI? 80atUO (talk) 22:05, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Help with Maritz, LLC article
editHi, Altamel. Sorry for pinging you again. You mentioned before that you were unavailable to help with the Maritz, LLC article in the short term, but may be willing to revisit later. If you're not too busy at the moment, I am still looking for someone to assist with the series of edit requests on the article's talk page. I've even spent some time at the English Wikipedia IRC chat room to ask for help, but editors there seemed hesitant to assist with conflict of interest edit requests. There are 5 requests. The first 2 are about the company's subsidiaries and history, which may take a bit longer to review, but the other 3 are pretty straightforward and might be a good place to start. If you're available to help, I'd be much appreciated, otherwise I'll keep poking others. Thanks! MadisonfromStanding (talk) 16:00, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Kirill Tatarinov
editHi Altamel. Would you have a few moments two review two passages I'm suggesting be added to Kirill Tatarinov's article? There's been a lot of news about him since he's become the CEO of Citrix and I found new details in the sources that I think will make his entry more robust. You can have a look at the new material in my Talk page note. You helped the last time I had an addition to the entry, which is why I thought I'd reach out. As you might remember, I am working on behalf of Citrix to suggest the changes, so I won't make the changes myself. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 13:40, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Verizon Fios "Telephone"
editHello Altamel, I wonder if you have time to review the Verizon Fios Telephone edit request here. Similar to what I sought with the Internet access section of the article, Telephone could be streamlined. For example, the second paragraph discusses Verizon selling landline operations to other companies. To me, this does not seem to fit the Telephone section; those details are more appropriate in History. Also, the entire section is four paragraphs, yet it is separated under three subheadings, including one about Verizon's Inside Wire Maintenance Plan and its pricing. Again, to me, this does not fit. I see Telephone as a brief factual description of what Verizon Fios' telephone service is. Thanks so much, VZBob (talk) 13:20, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Your anti-vandalism work at Irvine, North Ayrshire was phenomenal! Keep up the great work! Jith12 (talk) 21:48, 30 May 2017 (UTC) |
- Thanks Jith12—your vigilance was also invaluable. My guess is that a bunch of bored teenagers decided to vandalize their town's Wikipedia page, though rarely have I seen so rapid an onslaught of vandalism as this. Altamel (talk) 21:51, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was really something. I've been editing for about a year now and never have I seen anything like that. Thanks again, Jith12 (talk) 21:56, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
2017 parliamentary election results page
editHi Altamel
I am the main person creating the page you commented on, and have kept the old chart from 2015 at the bottom of my page as a reference so I can copy and paste information that hasn't changed, particularly constiuency names and their links. I will delete it when the new 2017 chart is complete

Runic Games
editHi Altamel,
Thanks for responding to my message. I created a more authoritative location to host the file, but I'm not really sure how to get it into Wikipedia's queue. https://support.runicgames.com/kb/articles/fair-use

- Hi Coltraning. The queue is at Wikipedia:Files for upload. Just click the blue button that says "Make a new request" and follow the instructions there. Altamel (talk) 23:16, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Rehs Galleries
editCan you please explain why someone (Toddst1) went to our page and cut out most of the entry ... an entry that was approved a long time ago? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rehs_Galleries
This happened to me once before when DissidentAggressor did a similar thing and those edits were removed. Also .. as for Scholarly Research ... why were the Ridgway Knight and Dupre projects removed?

Rehs Galleries Page
editAltamel ... I need some advice and help. It appears that an editor, Toddst1, has 'destroyed' our gallery's entry in Wikipedia ... one that has been viewed and edited by many other editors (and administrators) over the years. In 2014 another editor, DissidentAggressor, did the same thing and Administrators corrected the issue. Our site has the appropriate notice that the bottom of the About Us page so their are no copyright problems: http://www.rehs.com/aboutus.html?contemporary=N ....this is what I was told was needed back in 2014 so everything was ok. If you can, please tell me how I can get the entry back to the way it was?Howard L. Rehs (talk) 19:43, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- Howard L. Rehs, consensus on pages can change. Just because text material was restored once does not necessarily mean it must stay forever. User:Writ Keeper restored the material because they disagreed with the claim that the text was copyrighted. That doesn't necessarily mean they checked the text against any other noncompliance with Wikipedia policy. Toddst1 removed the text because the vast majority of it had no citations (citations to websites affiliated with the article subject should only be used sparingly). Wikipedia's verifiability policy states that when article content has been challenged for its accuracy, it's up to you to find citations (non-affiliated ones) before restoring the material.
- Now, if you are unable to come to an agreement with Toddst1, you have a few options. One is to start a request for comment asking whether the material should be restored. You'll have to make a strong case. Most Wikipedians take a dim view of paid editing. You'll have to convince them that (1) the material is has citations, is not promotional, has proper documentation of permission to use copyrighted text and (2) that the material is actually useful and relevant for understanding the art gallery (i.e. biographical info about the people who run the gallery might be a stretch). I can't guarantee that the article returns to the same it was before; this is how the editing process works. Best, Altamel (talk) 02:04, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Altamel thank you for your input.Howard L. Rehs (talk) 01:20, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

COI request
editHello Altamel, and thank you for your guidance on handling edit requests this past month. I seemed to have improved a lot lately. Unfortunately, I'm coming to you today because I currently have a COI and am looking for assistance on this article. If you get the chance, can you please have a look? Thanks! jd22292 (Jalen D. MathWorks requests
editHi! Thank you for taking a look at my COI edit requests at MathWorks. FYI, I've replied to your feedback and provided some revisions on the Talk page. I'd really appreciate it if you could take a second look. Thank you again for your help! Mary Gaulke (talk) 10:58, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Help with Gigamon?
editHello, Altamel. Are you interested in reviewing additional edit requests I posted at Talk:Gigamon? In July, you answered an edit request to update the infobox. I have since posted short edit requests for History, Operations, Products, Recognition and awards, and some minor introduction edits. I posted several edit requests in hopes that it was easier on reviewing editors.
As disclosed on the Gigamon Talk page, I have a financial conflict of interest, so I am not editing the article directly as I'm offering these updates on behalf of the company as part of my work with Beutler Ink. Thank you in advance, Danilo Two (talk) 17:54, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
COI Request to fix brand vandalism
editHello Altamel, and thank you for your recent guidance on handling edit requests to our brand page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDM_Smith. Unfortunately, our page continues to be vandalized by an anonymous source. I have a conflict of interest with this page and am looking for assistance on how to handle and fix this matter. We’d appreciate you review, feedback and help? We have provided explanation, edits and sources on our talk page [[4]]. Thanks! Shepardde (talk) 15:30, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Edit Review Request: Kirill Tatarinov
editHi Altamel,
I wanted to see if you'd be willing to review a few edit suggestions I made on the Talk:Krill Tatarinov. I have a financial COI so I don't want to make edits myself, and I see that you have helped out past editors with COI's implement changes in the past.
Thank you!
