Interpretive labels

edit

Hi there, re: this, though you obviously meant well, we don't use interpretive labels like these in TV articles. See WP:ANTAGONIST, which is widely embraced by WikiProject television. If there were decent write-ups of each character and what their personalities were like, as we find at List of Millennium characters (which is what our goal is) then it would be obvious who the lead characters are and who the antagonists are, etc. Also, nobody needs to be told who the males and females are. Anyone who watches the series can figure out basic biological cues without being told. Thank you for understanding. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:30, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Interpretive labels again

edit

Hi there, re: this edit, the addition of interpretive labels like "Parallel Female Lead" is not particularly helpful. Unless you can source all of those labels they should be removed (and I have a feeling I'll be the one to do that.) I've previously attempted to discuss this with you, to no avail. Some of the labels that exist at that article are not only interpretive, but patently absurd. "Former Parallel Main Female Lead" is ridiculous and anyone who actually cares about that article, which I assume you do, should be embarrassed to see this printed there. Surely Indian TV viewers don't have a problem identifying males and females and wouldn't require an encyclopedia to spoon feed this information to them. Do you agree? Disagree? What's the difference between a lead role and a parallel lead role? Is a parallel lead role lesser than a lead role? If there were parallel leads, wouldn't all the lead cast be labeled the same way? Why do some people get labeled as "lead" and some as "parallel lead"? How does a parallel main lead differ from a main lead or a parallel lead? Is a parallel main lead higher up on the totem pole than a parallel lead? Isn't "main lead" redundant? If you are confused by these questions, I can only imagine how readers of that article will feel when they read that gibberish. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:25, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Tables for cast lists

edit

Hi there, why did you convert the cast section at Saath Nibhaana Saathiya to tables? [1] Tables are not the preferred format for cast lists. See WP:TVCAST. Tables prevent the inclusion of character descriptions as well as real-world content about character development, casting, etc. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so we expect that these sections should be more than what IMDb tells us. Please familiarise yourself with our Manual of Style for Television and maybe take a look at quality articles, like List of Millennium characters, so you have a basis of comparison for what the article is supposed to look like. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:33, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
