Thank you for uploading File:Great_Eastern_Run_Route.pdf. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Melesse (talk) 05:41, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This image is not a logo- the copy-paste rationale you have added is not at all useful. I advise you avoid the use of non-free content altogether until you hae familiarised yourself with our non-free content guidelines. This file is inappropriate for a great number of reasons- it is replaceable, it lacks an image copyright tag, it is incredibly high resolution, PDFs are generally frowned upon... As an aside, it wasn't me who contacted you concerning this file. J Milburn (talk) 13:04, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You simply have to choose a license under which to release the image. We normally recommend Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0. If you're happy with that, just add {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to the image page, which will appear as a grey/silver box explaining the licensing. J Milburn (talk) 13:22, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nicola Rizzoli

edit

A {{footballbox}} template on a referee's page is not encyclopaedic content. If the match was notable in Rizzoli's career (i.e. his involvement was mentioned in a third-party media source), try writing some prose about it, but don't just add the match result in a summary template. It's biographically irrelevant to Rizzoli. – PeeJay 19:22, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rollback and reviewer granted

edit

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Dabomb87 (talk) 02:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've also given you reviewer rights; see WP:REVIEWER and Help:Pending changes for more information. Also, thank you for being more diligent in warning vandals; please continue to do so. Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 02:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Geneva Smitherman

edit

Hello AndrewvdBK. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Geneva Smitherman, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A claim to be a University Distinguished Professor is certainly enough to pass A7. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 16:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming

edit

Hi.

When you 'welcome' users with User:AndrewvdBK/Templates/Template:Welcome, could you please use {{subst:User:AndrewvdBK/Templates/Template:Welcome}}, instead of just {{User:AndrewvdBK/Templates/Template:Welcome}}.

The former puts a permanent copy of your 'welcome' at the time you save the page - thus avoiding problems if it changes - and it can be less confusing to net users. There are other reasons too... so please 'subst' it, in future. Thanks,  Chzz  ►  23:08, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Radio Caroline

edit

Hi Andrew, This is basically a pre-emptive contact, in the hope you may be able to help. (How?. I am not too sure)

Re Radio Caroline article

I am not connected with the operation, but have a background in broadcasting, as a hobby, since before Caroline started in 1964. I have kept a watch eye on the wiki article for some time due to the visits it recieves from vandals and people wanting to re-write the history. This you have seen recently, from the edit log.

It would seem that the guy you reverted is going to be insistent on making the changes he insists are correct - based on one small "nondescript" (and inaccurate) website. <here>.

The current operation is directly connected by continuity of staff and the backing of Ronan O'Rahilly, and as such can hardly be called a "pretender" (see the stations own history and the current guy in charge, Peter Moore, is mentioned back in 1988!! <here>

I just wanted to put this to you in case he continues - I dont want a 3R on me!!

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:05, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
