Thank You

edit

Hello Thank you for finishing the I Dream of Jeannie Episode List... I was working on it a few days ago, but got sidetracked and all I did was Season 1, so Thank You very much for finishing it. Jdcrackers 20:29, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

JULIE, Inc.

edit

Hi. What set off red lights to me were the phone numbers in the article. They made it look as if it were copied and pasted. You many want to consider using the sandbox or a subpage to build articles in and then move them to the main article space. Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Cheers. --EarthPerson 15:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Would the shortened version (if you can still access it) have been OK? I was just trying to define what they are (a free, public, safety service). I would probably just strip it back to only showing the new national 811 number (with a wikilink explaining what that is.) I've been trying to find an off-line Wiki editor, but haven't found a decent one, yet. I've learned my lesson too many times on the dangers of on-line editing.Andyross 15:35, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andy. I'm not an admin, so I can't view what was deleted. Go ahead and leave a message on User talk:Jimfbleak as he was the deleting admin. (I found that looking at Special:Log and putting in "JULIE, Inc.".) You can check Wikipedia:Requests for administrator attention and see if you can contact some there, but try Jimfbleak first. Feel free to point him to my note here.
I think you'd be fine creating it as a subpage here: User:Andyross/JULIE, Inc.. Since things in the userspace don't get as much attention as things in mainspace. Cheers! --EarthPerson 15:48, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hi Andy, as well as removing the advertising bits, you need to make sure that the article has independent sources to show that it meets the notability guidelines. You also need to bear in mind it's a global encyclopaedia - 811 numbers needed to be clarified for non-US readers. Hope this helps, Jimfbleak 16:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I can retrieve the text if you need it, but I'll be off line for a few hours soon. Jimfbleak 16:53, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
With a little digging, I found a similar entry for Dig Safe System (covers New England). The 811 number would be linked to the '8-1-1' entry, although I would probably add a US reference, too. For now, don't bother recovering it. If I recreate it, I may use the Dig Safe version as a starting point, if it looks acceptable. Notability for this is a bit murky. These may be better as a single article for 'Utility Locating Services', or as some addition to the existing Utility location entry (which already has an external link giving a list). IDOJ

edit

Hi there, just a quick question... Is it against Wikipedia's rules to have cover art on the DVD release tables? A user Durrin is removing each and everyone...I have been trying to find out and I think it improves and enhances the article as a whole to show IDOJ and Bewitched among other sitcoms their DVD release cover.Jdcrackers 18:50, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also wanted to let you know your IDOJ history epsiode page looks great!!Jdcrackers 18:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are the ISBN numbers to IDOJ the ones you listed in the boxes? I was just getting ready to pre-order Season 4 and wasn't sure if I needed the ISBN number for that one? I had a different ISBN number for Season 2... I also found out from a friend who has a contact at Sony says that the final Season (Season 5) will be out in early 2008...so I am thinking February or March. Jdcrackers 23:49, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I just Googled around and found a site that listed ISBN numbers. The one for Season 2 is here: http://www.jepago.com/store/view-item.php?src=FRO&sku=BT9781424814145 . I don't have the IDOJ DVD's, as I've been watching through local repeats and on Comcast OnDemand. I double-checked another DVD, and the numbers on that site apparently are NOT the complete ISBN. After some more digging, I found this neat web site: http://www.worldcatlibraries.org/search?. I'll update with the correct numbers. ---- Andyross 15:29, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the info on that, Do you think I should include the ISBN numbers for Bewitched too? By the way, That user that took down all the pics... why didn't they take down the Brady Bunch pics? And I think Who's the Boss still has pics... Just curious...Jdcrackers 17:52, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bewitched

edit

Hi there, I was thinking about doing that...I think it will make the episodes look much neater... What do you think about me using the colours that are on the Bewitched DVD releases like Season 1 was in Blue, Season 2 in purple, etc...? Jdcrackers 17:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

You can use whatever colors seem best. I might try that for Green Acres, although only the first 3 are out, and the last 3 may never be released due to poor sales. IDOJ was based on various items (B&W, Jeannie, Tony/Air Force, Roger/Army, random.) I've also been trying a semi-offline method of editing some information in a text editor, then pasting it online. I'm still trying to find a decent Wiki-oriented off-line editor. Andyross 15:51, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Date Formats on MysteryQuest

edit

You should realize stupid those date formats do jack shit except create a confusing short hand to dates - the end result is exactly the same as spelling them out normally - and if you're not going to be the one who will be a major contributor to this article (except for nitpicking things) then I suggest you revert them to how I originally had it. I am not going to follow through with using them. Cyberia23 (talk) 04:11, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Playback control

edit

The article Playback control has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Stub for an obscurely named feature of an old video format (i.e. one used only before DVD burners became commonplace in PCs). This will never get expanded into a full article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited WCIU-TV, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SD.
