[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Incel, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 15:04, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

I mean, I'm going to do so in response to it being wrongfully and unjustifiable locked. So. Um. AnonAJ (talk) 15:06, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You don't get to delete other people's talk page comments on Wikipedia. If you want to complain about the locking, you can do so at an admin board, but I would recommend you read WP:BOOMERANG first. MrOllie (talk) 15:10, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fortunately, it wasn't someone else's talk page.
And nah, thx tho AnonAJ (talk) 15:11, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
The rules on this do indeed apply to article talk pages. Just don't delete anything again. MrOllie (talk) 15:12, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Or what? AnonAJ (talk) 15:12, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Deleting things from talk pages. You must stop. MrOllie (talk) 15:18, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I posted it. I want to take it down because of people like you. Simple as. AnonAJ (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You don't get to do that. MrOllie (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Watch me. AnonAJ (talk) 15:21, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Incel are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a search engine, a chatbot, or a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. ‎ — B.J (talk) 15:14, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

My original post was exactly what you just described the talk page to be for. AnonAJ (talk) 15:16, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or change other editors' legitimate talk page comments. MrOllie (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

It was MY comment you jannie. AnonAJ (talk) 15:20, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
And you are deleting the replies made by others. MrOllie (talk) 15:21, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Boohoo. It was my comment they were replying to. AnonAJ (talk) 15:24, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't matter, you still aren't allowed to delete them ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) In solidarity 15:25, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Consider this a legal takedown request. Thank youuuuu AnonAJ (talk) 15:26, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours to prevent further disruptive removal of material. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then submit a request through the unblock wizard or through your talk page.  ~Lofty abyss 15:27, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Lofty abyss would the above reply be considered a legal threat? ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) In solidarity 15:28, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Absolutely. AnonAJ (talk) 15:29, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
As the person who actually locked the thread you could have also approached me at my user talk page to ask me why I did. I would have happily explained to you that you'd been asked, several times, for a source that contradicts the "online subculture" part of the entry and your only response was a Merriam Webster dictionary definition that didn't actually contradict that part of the entry at all. Generally, when brand-new editors who don't understand Wikipedia's culture or processes well get immediately into an article that is in multiple WP:CONTENTIOUS topics, it ends poorly for the editor and causes negative feelings all around for other participants. As there were not more sources forthcoming and as it was reaching a kind of WP:NOTFORUM impasse I thought it would be best for all those involved for the conversation to end. I would recommend you withdraw any legal threats because those will lead to your block being made indefinite in length. Then I would recommend you learn a bit about editing Wikipedia and, in particular, our sourcing standards in less contentious spaces. Simonm223 (talk) 15:37, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I considered (and still consider) the lock to be predatory, and your rationale is of no interest to me.
It actually directly contradicted the entry, as I demonstrated.
I agree; this has caused very negative feelings for me, which you could lessen by permitting me to delete what I originally wrote.
Would an indefinite ban come with a deletion of the post I have tried to remove over and over? If so, that'd be great. AnonAJ (talk) 15:42, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
No it would not. Frankly very little is ever actually deleted from Wikipedia in a meaningful sense. Your edits were all preserved in article history. You were just making a hash of the live talk page with those edits. And we would not remove the conversation from the live talk page even if you pull an indefinite block. I hope you don't. We aren't trying to scare away brand-new editors, we just are trying to prevent big messes and pointless arguments. Simonm223 (talk) 15:46, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Clearly you are, since you're permitting harassment from moderators. Consider my edit suggestion retracted. Now please kindly remove it, as it is something I wrote. AnonAJ (talk) 15:47, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You might want to look at the T&C. This is kind of what I meant regarding you wanting to learn a bit about how Wikipedia works before getting into big fights. Anything on Wikipedia is published through a Creative Commons License and according to this license You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits. So, no, we will not be deleting your comments or any of the responses to them. Simonm223 (talk) 15:51, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I "might" want to file a legal takedown request, since it's my post.
MrOllie was the one who got in a fight with me, to be clear.
Thank you for demonstrating you were lying when you said you don't wish to scare new editors away. AnonAJ (talk) 15:54, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well, I tried. Best of luck to you. Simonm223 (talk) 15:55, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You didn't. But hey, you too. Maybe crack down on the abusive moderation by MrOllie. AnonAJ (talk) 15:56, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You don't have a valid legal reason for the takedown request. tgeorgescu (talk) 15:57, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Harassment and intimidation by user MrOllie, actually AnonAJ (talk) 16:00, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's just a claim, not a valid juridical reason. tgeorgescu (talk) 16:01, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
47 U.S.C. § 223 AnonAJ (talk) 16:05, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
The claim that you have been harassed and intimidated is a subjective opinion, not a juridical reality. tgeorgescu (talk) 16:06, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
The charge would be under 47 U.S.C. § 223 like I just told you. You're welcome. AnonAJ (talk) 16:09, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you should read what it says: claims of being harassed are not evidence of being harassed. tgeorgescu (talk) 16:11, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nor did I claim it was. (You still aren't scary.) The evidence is material, which was already documented via him reposting my comment and causing me significant emotional distress. AnonAJ (talk) 16:13, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I question if this is the appropriate venue to discuss the logistics of a user's legal threats. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) In solidarity 16:14, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You may issue at legal takedown request, but you will get blocked for doing so. Also, there is no reason to obey your request. A legal takedown gets honored for a limited number of reasons, and none of them apply. tgeorgescu (talk) 15:39, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Considering the reversal of the post-deletion was done repeatedly by the same person who was harassing me, I don't think it's a good idea to leave it up. AnonAJ (talk) 15:43, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
You do not make our WP:RULES. tgeorgescu (talk) 15:51, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nor did I ever insinuate I did. You aren't scary. AnonAJ (talk) 15:55, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
