Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Mathew James Burrows, from its old location at User:Arnaud stevins/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. KylieTastic (talk) 18:22, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I see you have declared a conflict of interest. Please will you elaborate?

If you receive any tangible benefit from writing Draft:Mathew J. Burrows you must declare it. I am adding the standard warning message below to ensure that you understand. Being paid is very broadly construed. Fiddle Faddle 22:10, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Arnaud stevins. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Arnaud stevins. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Arnaud stevins|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Fiddle Faddle 22:10, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

in this diff the editor declarers his COI and explicitly refutes paid editing. This meets our needs as a declaration Fiddle Faddle 17:49, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission:

Normally for a researcher, we judge notability not by references about him, but by the impact of their work accordingto WP:PROF. This is generally difficult for people whose work is not published in hte normal academic channels, which can include many people in government or industry, and certainly in his field. He might be better judged as an author, and reviews of his publication are then pertinent. The best way to proceed might be to remove all adjectives of praise, and all extraneous material, and everything overpersonal. I might accept this, but only after the work is done.Pleas enotify me on my talk page when ready, DGG ( talk ) 20:12, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
