Belarus

edit

What did you do in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest Map?! I said to color Belarus in green, not purple!!! Tarkattack (talk) 10:57, 23 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, do not color Belarus in purple, nor grey. If anything, you will be blocked for your actions!!! Tarkattack (talk) 11:10, 23 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Dear Tarkattack, please check my changes of this file again. I did colour Belarus in green, it's clearly visible. It could be that your browser didn't show the right version of the file when you checked it. Please don't be that rude - to threaten me is neither nice nor appropriate. Eurovision 2016 Map

edit

Hello, Avis28, I've been wondering for a while now how to update the map myself. Sometimes I would like to help filling in the map. I've noticed you've been updating the map for a long time, so I just wanted to ask, how do I update it myself so I can help? Thank you in advance for your answer. ThePhantomKid012 (talk) 01:48, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi ThePhantomKid012, you need a program for editing .svg-Files. That's the most important thing. The rest is not difficult at all. --Avis28 (talk) 07:33, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement

edit
WikiProject Eurovision
Important Announcement

Dear Project Member

Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles.

Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:22, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!
