Yamb (game) moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to Yamb (game). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ... discospinster talk 01:48, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! OK, I understand.
- Well, I really tried to find more sources online. But apart from the references and the link in the proposed article, I don't think there are much written about this game in English. I don't speak any of the relevant languages, but it should be possible to find something in one of the more relevant countries (maybe via a search in online libraries). There is, however quite a lot videos and tutorials online - so it is obvious that the game is existing and alive. But maybe it's OK for a "people's game" like this not to be included on Wikipedia. Anyway, I don't have the time to pursue this further. Hope someone will, though! BGA Player (talk) 02:26, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- If sources have been published in other languages, it would definitely work! Sources don't have to be in English only, and many "people's" stuff have been included on Wikipedia if reliable sources have talked about them! Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 02:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- It seems a version has been printed in Norway. Is this a reliable source? https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/28841/jamb BGA Player (talk) 02:39, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

- Hi. OK, I fully understand. And I guess it is the same situation with the article about Yamb, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yamb_(game), that I have proposed? I understand the need of reliable sources, but it's too bad that games which have only been published small-scale cannot be included in the sum of "dice knowledge" on Wikipedia. People are searching for these dice games, and it would be nice if the Wikipedia collection were complete. BGA Player (talk) 21:15, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
- I went ahead and declined Yamb for the same reasons. For a source to contribute to notability it needs to meet all the four criteria outlined in the decline, of which reliability is only one. Usually for games what is used are critical reviews by reputable publishers. You might find WP:WikiProject Board and table games/Sources helpful and feel free to post a note on the on the project's talk page for assistance. While I did look for suitable sources and found none, someone there might be able to help. S0091 (talk) 21:29, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
