Is it possible for your TemplateParameterBot to run a manual update of TemplateData parameters?

We are working on a merger of {{Infobox UK school}} into {{Infobox school}}, and it would be useful to have an update of the TemplateData monthly report before early December. Is there a way that you or someone else can run a manual update of that report so that we can see the parameters that still need to be replaced? Thanks in advance for anything you can do to help. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:41, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

@Jonesey95: The report is generated from the 1st of the month database dump. I am not interested in running it for the 20ths database dump. After reading the talk page for Infobox school, it looks like tracking categories are being used to get live information. --Bamyers99 (talk) 02:17, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. Tracking categories are not 100% reliable, as they can take a while to update after a change is made to the template. I can wait. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:32, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Anyone can edit. Since you had some involvement with the Anyone can edit redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Thryduulf (talk) 17:12, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

No cleanup listing today

The Wikiproject Jazz Cleanup Listing didn't appear today. Is it broken?
Vmavanti (talk) 19:01, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

@Vmavanti: The Jazz listing has now been updated. There was an issue getting Wikiproject Biography running. --Bamyers99 (talk) 21:31, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Redlinked talk pages

Hi Bamyers, I pick on you as you update the excellent Wikipedia:Most wanted pages. Do you know if is there any way to get a list of articles with no talk page? Possibly the oldest ones (to keep the list manageable) as I imagine there would be a lot of new articles with no talk page. Fish+Karate 10:15, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Old articles

Hi I usually follow the new article announcements. Thanks for the help. However sometimes I see quite old articles in the "new articles list".For example in WikiProject Turkey/New article announcements of 10th of Dec., I see Suleiman the Magnificent which was created no later than 2001. Cheers Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 12:59, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

@Nedim Ardoğa: The bot got confused by all of the page moves and reverts done to that article. It is only supposed to report page moves into main space, not within main space. --Bamyers99 (talk) 23:06, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

Timestamp question

Greetings, At Archive 2, here I see that in past, CleanupWorklistBot was ran daily.

Wondering if timestamp that shows for each WP can be changed to include HH:MM ? And if it runs thru User:CleanupWorklistBot/Master from top to bottom, will then know total runtimes.

Reason I'm asking is because there are multiple issues with WP 1.0 bot for article assessments here. Regards, JoeHebda (talk) 15:31, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

@JoeHebda: The archived post is in regards to Top 20 enwiki articles by edits and editors in past 7 days which is generated by DataflowBot. CleanupworkListBot has a status page which lists total runtime. CleanupWorklistBot does not interact with WP 1.0 bot and is totally independent. --Bamyers99 (talk) 17:19, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: - Yes I understand that CleanupWorklistBot is independent of WP1.0bot. Before a better WP1.0bot alternate process (2-steps) was put in place, I was looking at CleanupWorklistBot as an option for people to find articles to work on. At first I thought cleanup ran for many days like CommunityTechBot does for Popular pages. Since it's done in 4+ hours, just curious if it would be possible to add WP Biography for cleanup? Or with 1.6 million articles would that be overload? JoeHebda (talk) 18:10, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
@JoeHebda: WP Biography has been added to CleanupWorklistBot. Here is the listing. There is a template that can be added to the WP Biography page at Linking to the lists. --Bamyers99 (talk) 00:00, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: - Thanks so much for adding WP Bio. I see at the CleanupWorklistBot Status page it was ran today, 36 minutes. Wondering if that was for WP Bio only or all WP on Master list? So going fwd, it should be every Tuesday.
Thanks for the cleanup template which I added here. Regards, JoeHebda (talk) 01:41, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi Bamyers99 - After adding WP Biography I checked the status link & see bambot ran for a bit over 8hours. When it processes, does the bot read Master sequentially? If yes, does it make any sense to move WP Bio to be last? That way everything else goes ahead of that long-runner (1.6+ million articles). Just wondring.   You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine#How to keep an eye on drafts at Articles for Creation. I'd love to know what you think about this idea for sorting new pages by content. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:56, 14 December 2018 (UTC)

Big Brother infobox

Hi I saw you removed an extra "}}" from the infobox I reverted the edit because removing the extra "}}" broke the module and the infobox. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 05:45, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Donald E. Fuoss on tennis lists?

Why is Donald E. Fuoss showing up on our "Wikipedia:WikiProject Tennis" list of new tennis articles? I looked at it and I can't figure out the relationship. It originally had some tennis info in it but I would have thought by now it would have disappeared. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:27, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

@Fyunck(click): Once an article is on a new article list, it stays there for 2 weeks. Articles are not rescanned to see they still qualify for a list. --Bamyers99 (talk) 15:52, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

WikiProject X Newsletter • Issue 13

Newsletter • December 2018

This month: A general update.

The current status of the project is as follows:

  • Progress of the project has been generally delayed since September due to development issues (more bitrot than expected, some of the code just being genuinely confusing, etc) and personal injury (I suffered a concussion in October and was out of commission for almost two months as a result).
  • I currently expect to be putting out a proper call for CollaborationKit pilots in January/February, with estimated deployment in February/March if things don't go horribly wrong (they will, though, don't worry). As a part of that, I will properly update the page and send out announcement and reach out to all projects already signed up as pilots for WikiProject X in general, at which point those (still) interested can volunteer specifically to test the CollaborationKit extension.
    • Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Pilots was originally created for the first WikiProject X prototype, and given this is where the project has since gone, it's only logical to continue to use it. While I haven't yet updated the page to properly reflect this:
    • If you want to add your project to this page now, feel free. Just bear in mind that more information what to actually expect will be added later/included in the announcement, because by then I will have a much better idea myself.
  • Until then, you can find me in my corner working on making the CollaborationKit code do what we want and not just what we told it, per the workboard.

Until next time,

TemplateParametersTool question

Hey, I was recently pointed to your tool (User:Bamyers99/TemplateParametersTool) to help with an issue I had, but it didn't quite solve it. I was wondering if maybe I missed anything and thought I'd ask you. I wanted to see what values are used in a custom parameter used by an infobox, but noticed that when a parameter has more than 50 unique values, it just says it's more than 50. Is there another way of seeing those values? --Gonnym (talk) 11:16, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

@Gonnym: No other way to see the >50 values as they are not recorded by this program do to the large quantity of data. --Bamyers99 (talk) 14:58, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

category changes

Hi Bamyers99, I noticed https://tools.wmflabs.org/bambots/RecentCategoryChanges.php , which seems like a good successor of what I used the old related changes for. Unfortunately it seems to be only available for english wikipedia. Would it be possible to make it available for all projects? Akoopal (talk) 11:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

February Template Parameter reports

Is there something not working with the Template Parameter reports? I've never seen the new reports available any later than the 4th of the month, but it's now the 6th. Plantdrew (talk) 01:46, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

@Plantdrew: The database dump that the report uses didn't finish until 2019-02-06 00:11:49. The parameter extraction is running and should be ready by tomorrow. --Bamyers99 (talk) 01:52, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

is CleanupWorklistBot down?

Hi there, is the bot down? Attempt to reach status is not possible. Thanks! --Xaiver0510 (talk) 08:57, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Looks like anything on WMFLabs in the bambots subdirectory is down. The template monthly error report is reporting bad gateway too. - X201 (talk) 09:24, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
@Xaiver0510 and X201: WMFLabs is experiencing some hardware issues, see T216208. --Bamyers99 (talk) 16:04, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: Thanks for the link and as per written there, it is up! Thank you! --Xaiver0510 (talk) 01:49, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
