Here, have a Crab and a half!
I've been the only person actively working on Tampa-related articles for the past few months. It's great to see a new person on the job - welcome aboard!

If you need some advice on how to best contribute, shoot me a message any time. If you're looking for more articles in need of expansion, you'll find a list of Tampa Bay area articles at the (sadly quiet) Wikiproject Tampa Bay page, located here. Zeng8r (talk) 21:10, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much Zeng8r! I had my first deviled crab a week or two ago. There definitely are a lot of gaps in the coverage of Tampa. I look forward to working with you. Please let me know if you want me to try and help out on anything in particular. Barbthebuilder (talk) 14:39, 19 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Glazer Children’s Museum

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Glazer Children’s Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. NTox · talk 05:34, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Good on you for doing some historical Florida building articles. I see you've found some of my photos. Keep up the good work, and if you want anything photo'd, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do. :) --Ebyabe talk - Border Town17:12, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was happy to find your photos. Helps those articles a lot. Thanks! I need a photo of the old Hillsborough County Courthouse that was demolished in 1966.  :) Take care! Barbthebuilder (talk) 14:08, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Do you have anything of Historic Spanish Point and its visitor's center (supposed to have been designed by M. Leo Elliott)? All I see is the historical marker. Your photos are great! Would you ever consider cropping some of them? Take care and have fun. Barbthebuilder (talk) 14:39, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'll get some photos of the courthouse for you. Lemme just hop into my TARDIS. :)
I added a photo of the Osprey School to the article. I didn't go inside, so I didn't have to pay the entrance fee. I did a tour about 10 years ago and took pictures, but they were with a disposable camera on a semi-rainy day, so they're all pretty crappy. I'm thinking of doing a tour again at some point, but not sure when.
My self-assigned task has been to visit and photograph everything on the NRHP in Florida. Also everything in "A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture". I'm about 90% done with both.
Should you feel so inclined, might you consider doing some articles for the few redlink Florida NRHPs? I stubbed them all ages ago, but haven't done new ones for the last couple of years. You already did one unintentionally, for Captain William Parker Jackson House. I also keep track of the pending NRHPs, and maybe some of those might interest you? Vamo Drive in Sarasota is being proposed as a historic district, and a house in Nokomis is being proposed. Cheers! --Ebyabe talk - State of the Union17:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I second Ebyabe's praise - good work! Just a quick request - when you create a new article about something or someone related to the Tampa area, please drop a {{TampaWikiproject}} tag on the talk page. That will automatically group it together with other local-flavored articles, making them easier to find. Also, feel free to join the Tampa Bay wikiproject if you want, although it's been so quiet for so long that it doesn't mean much any more. Thanks! Zeng8r (talk) 10:34, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
