editHello, I'm Lcodyh803. I noticed that you recently removed content from Jim Zeigler without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Dispute resolution
editHi, I saw your post and wanted to suggest that you revert it. The situation you're in is a content dispute. The arbitration committee doesn't get involved in content disputes. What you need to do is follow the steps outlined in dispute resolution. Good luck! Schazjmd (talk) 00:12, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
ANI
editI strongly suggest you self revert your arbitration request and go through the normal venues of WP:ANI or WP:DRN. Praxidicae (talk) 00:28, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- I actually reverted it as it was completely malformed and unreadable. Praxidicae (talk) 00:45, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
Arbitration
editHi Belledoll, In response to your request for arbitration of this issue, the Arbitration Committee has agreed that arbitration is not required at this stage. Arbitration on Wikipedia is a lengthy, complicated process that involves the unilateral adjudication of a dispute by an elected committee. Although the Committee's decisions can be useful to certain disputes, in many cases the actual process of arbitration is unenjoyable and time-consuming. Moreover, for most disputes the community maintains an effective set of mechanisms for reaching a compromise or resolving a grievance.
In all cases, you should review Wikipedia:Dispute resolution to learn more about resolving disputes on Wikipedia. The English Wikipedia community has many venues for resolving disputes and grievances, and it is important to explore them instead of requesting arbitration in the first instance. For more information on the process of arbitration, please see the Arbitration Policy and the Guide to Arbitration. I hope this advice is useful, and please do not hesitate to contact a member of the community if you have more questions. SQLQuery me! 02:09, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
Copyright and copy-paste warning
editIn at least the following edit ([1]), you verbatim copy and pasted the following text from a source: the Crimson White reported, they allegedly threatened Merrill's wife with rape, ran one of his staffers off the road, and beat the head of the independent Alabama Students Party, Bob Shraeder, badly enough to land him in the hospital.
Copy and paste directly from sources is a copyright violation and is not permitted; nor is very close paraphrasing. Future edits must be written entirely in your own words. Repeated copyright violations are grounds for a block from editing. I have revision deleted the copyright violation there. If you have done this on other occasions due to lack of knowledge, please let me know and I'll take care of those as well. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:51, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
Dispute resolution noticeboard
editHey, welcome to Wikipedia! Unfortunately, I have closed your filing at the dispute resolution noticeboard ("DRN") without action, because I couldn't find any prior talk page discussion. Please note that talk page discussion must have taken place before filing a request at DRN. Feel free to ask me any questions. Best, MrClog (talk) 09:01, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
April 2020
editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not do on Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You need to discuss your issues with User:Seraphimblade on the article talk page. That precludes both edit-warring over the material or reinserting contentious material on articles about living people. The latter is one of our strongest policies and is upheld without fear or favour.
Incidentally, arbitration is a last resort, not an opening move. Since it had no chance of being accepted, and to avoid wasting editors' time further, it has been removed. Happy editing! ——SN54129 18:19, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
