Welcome!

edit

Hi Benji man, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Image Tagging Image:Castle2.jpg

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Castle2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Your recent deletion is of course correct. This makes clear that it was just undetected vandalism. SamuelTheGhost (talk) 13:48, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nabataean script

edit

Previous editors of that page may not have wanted to be too emphatic about the language written, since the inscriptions started out as Arabic-speakers attempting to write Aramaic, but this became increasingly permeated with Arabic as time went on, until towards the end some inscriptions pretty much gave up the effort or dropped the pretense of Aramaic. AnonMoos (talk) 22:19, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough! These issues are discussed on the pages that Nabataean script links to now, though. I think there should be links to those pages and this seemed like a good place. Benji man (talk) 13:12, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Benji man, you opened this review page about four weeks ago, and haven't returned to begin the review. Are you planning to do a full review soon? If not, you should probably release this nomination so it can find another reviewer. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:48, 9 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Very sorry for not completing this review, something unexpectedly came up so that I was unable to work on it for the past month. Benji man (talk) 12:25, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Nabataean Aramaic

edit

The article Nabataean Aramaic you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Nabataean Aramaic for comments about the article, and Talk:Nabataean Aramaic/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. DYK for Nabataean Aramaic

edit

On 25 March 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Nabataean Aramaic, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the earliest Nabataean Aramaic inscriptions contain Arabic names and loanwords? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Nabataean Aramaic. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Nabataean Aramaic), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Priestly source, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Exodus. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
