Christian Music Wikiproject

I just joined a few months ago and I was wondering what you need the most help on. Hit me back on my talk page and let me know. ---Brian Alexander (talk) 21:07, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music/To-do for a few articles in need of help identified by other members of the project. I also like to keep an eye on Category:Christian music articles without infobox, Category:Unassessed-Class Christian music articles, and Category:Christian music articles needing attention. Image:Fmstatic.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:Fmstatic.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.

I have speedy deleted the image as it is a blatant copyright violation. The link to the source clearly indicates All Rights Reserved. You claimed a Creative Commons 3.0 license. Be very careful about not doing that again. Image copyright licenses are respected very closely. License violations are a very serious problem and will get you in a heap of trouble very quickly, including blocking and banning if it continues. If you want an image from flickr, you need to ask the photographer there to change their license. You can only upload it if they actually change the license to something compatible with Wikipedia like Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike. I like how you cited references on Fireflight's article and I hope that you continue down that road instead of working on images until you understand image licensing better. Royalbroil 01:55, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
If you searched for Creative Commons pictures on flickr and that image came up, then the photographer probably changed their licensing to All Rights Reserved. It's probably not your fault. Since the photo's license could not be verified, then it still was appropriate for it to be deleted.
Next time you should upload it to Wikimedia Commons. There's an upload procedure there called the flickruploadbot, which instantly checks the license to make verify that it is valid. It will only upload properly licensed images. You should go that route, then you won't have any problems. I upload all of my images to Commons whether I obtain them on flickr or if I take them myself. Commons is the file storage place for freely-licensed photos so that all of the Wikipedias can share an image - so there's no duplication of effort. You upload it there and code everything else the same. Just don't upload any fair use images. Cheers! Royalbroil 12:15, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Joshbrowndof.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Joshbrowndof.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

 • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
 • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Kelly hi! 02:59, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Just to expand on the above template, the Flickr source shows that the image is under a non-commercial license (indicated by the crossed-out dollar sign in the "Additional information" section of the image page). I'm afraid those aren't considered free here per WP:CFAQ#Non-commercial licenses. Sorry.... Kelly hi! 03:02, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Image:Brian_Christmas.JPG listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Brian_Christmas.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Kelly hi! 03:05, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Swithfoot.gif

A tag has been placed on Image:Swithfoot.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

Unspecified source for Image:Everyday_Sunday.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Everyday_Sunday.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 03:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Rivel Records

Hi, I recently noticed on the 24th May, 2008 you created the page Rivel Records. I also noticed that the page contains next to no content what so ever and no indication of significance. Unless you provide referenced reasons on the article why it is significant and relevant information I will mark the page for deletion in a suitable amount of time if no indication why this article is significant enough for inclusion per WP:SPEEDY. – Jerryteps 06:25, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
