Request reason:

This computer is open to a range of people in the school community. I'm not sure why this account was blocked at all. I'm going to assume someone was doing abusive work from within this IP range. How can this be overturned?

Decline reason:

You were blocked because checkuser has confirmed that this account is a sockpuppet account of an indefinitely blocked user, User:Armyguy11.— Rjd0060 (talk) 19:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The IP address you specified is for a residential mindspring cable user. I think it's somewhat unlikely that it's a school IP. SQLQuery me! 22:53, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|Ok how would i go about proving that the computers here are used by multiple people? i dont know who armyguy is but not allowing over 300 people to edit really isn't the answer based off of one rogue user.}}

We aren't blocking over 300 people; just your account, not your IP address. - Rjd0060 (talk) 20:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I get this message.

Editing from 64.131.205.111 (your account, IP address, or IP address range) has been disabled by Nishkid64 for the following reason(s):

Same reason as before; 1 month block initially issued under the assumption that UnclePaco's IP might change. Your IP address is 64.131.205.111, and the block has been set to expire: 05:25, 14 February 2009.

It has been blocked Bigdaddy718 (talk) 21:31, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

the above message is what is on if i'm not logged onto an account. what can be done about this? whom can i speak to? the actions of one rogue user should not affect everyone

In fact both your account and your IP address are blocked. Due to the abusive nature of the edits coming from it, it has been deemed necessary to disable account creation and anonymous editing from your IP. That being said, I am going to ask the blocking admin to look at your block again. Due to the process involved in this block, it might take some time. I apologize for the inconvenience. -- lucasbfr talk (using User:Lucasbfr2) 21:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I could have blocked based on the editing pattern alone, since Bigdaddy718 is edit warring with TiconderogaCCB‎, just as UnclePaco had done before. Furthermore, this account was created just three days ago, yet the user is familiar with the 3RR noticeboard and sockpuppetry matters. Blnguyen ran a CheckUser request offline, and he confirmed it as a direct hit (which is clearly demonstrated by Bigdaddy718's IP block). The editing similarities and familiarity with policies is too much of a coincidence. This user is definitely UnclePaco. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 22:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for replying. I was edit warring with Ticonderoga but I'm the only one blocked. Going thru his history he has a pattern of using sock ip's and was blocked 3 times for similiar stuff. A few of his IP's were blocked as well which increases his block total. He was edit warring with me so why is this one sided? I have used wikipedia many times in the past but was not logged on. When I tried to use it via this server I was told I was blocked thus I had to create an account. So I created an account. This account was blocked because it uses the same server as a rogue account, armyguy. Who is unclepaco now? Is this another person? this looks a lot more complicated than meets the eye. Now what similiarities are you speaking about? I am looking here [1] and I see that I edited at St. John's, I followed someone here from st john's [2] and saw they vandalised here [3]. I did a few car articles. The san francico zoo, Ashley Alexandra Dupré‎ and a few other edits. So what editing similiarities are there? Basically what it looks like is going to happen is that a ton of users won't be able to log on because they'll look like socks if they use the servers here. What can be done to resolve this? Bigdaddy718 (talk) 22:32, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

ok, i'm getting a lot of mixed messages. first i'm another user, than only my account is blocked not my ip. then i might be autoblocked, then i'm an additional user, etc. what's going on here? Bigdaddy718 (talk) 23:02, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The IP was blocked because it was used abusively by UnclePaco. You are blocked because of your editing pattern (similar to UnclePaco) and the CheckUser which confirmed that you are on the same IP as UnclePaco. This IP, 64.131.205.111, is a residential IP that is most likely operated by one person. Given the situation, it's fairly obvious that you are UnclePaco. You were blocked indefinitely for sockpuppetry. You will keep on getting blocked in the future, whether you edit under an IP or as a registered user. There is a lot of negative information that surrounds the school. There are even protest groups that protest the school regularly. [4] , [5], and more. Other schools have listed controversy sections [6] and the section was called public safety issues and award as a result wouldn't belong in that section. Bigdaddy718 (talk) 00:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • what happened to armyguy? why is it that i'm listed as being armyguy and you bring up unclepaco?
ok at least why don't you simply find out and make it uniform so that it can be addressed as one. Bigdaddy718 (talk) 00:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • how can i edit from an IP or continue being blocked from it if its already blocked?
    • A blocked IP does not prevent a registered user from editing. My school IP was blocked for 6 months last year, and I still edited under my account.
The problem with that is if i create an account and use it with the school server i'll be linked and blocked. Bigdaddy718 (talk) 00:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • why am i blocked for an edit pattern when another user was edit warring with me and not blocked and has a history of edit warring?
    • I will look into that user's behavior and see if he was violating policies. Don't worry about that. I know there's been a lot of fishy stuff going on the St. John's University article.
Looking up his history there are a few things [[7]] , [[8] , ip blocks [9], [10], and others. There have been a lot of blocks in the articles past but why is one user allowed to edit war?
I said above the reason i know this stuff is because (and you can see above) is that this is the first account i've made. I've edited from IP's in the past. Bigdaddy718 (talk) 00:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
