Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Bino&pippa", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it suggests shared use. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Bino&pippa, does not meet our username policy.
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.
A username should not be promotional, appear to represent a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account. However, you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. TheSandDoctor Talk 23:11, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have had my user name change request approved but I am still blocked

@TheSandDoctor:Pinging the blocking admin. I also "upgraded" the help request to the admin version. 78.28.44.111 (talk) 10:58, 10 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Also, while I'm here: what a terrible, ill-considered and unnecessary block. I don't know what possessed that admin to block an established user for a tenuous username violation but they'd better get their itchy trigger finger under control lest they lose access to the trigger. 78.28.44.111 (talk) 11:15, 10 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Binopippa2, I've unblocked your account, given the name change. Just so you know, the name change doesn't automatically trigger an unblock; you normally would have to use the {{unblock}} template to put your account in the queue for unblocking. Totally not your fault or anything like that; that's just why it took time to process, since it didn't immediately come to an admin's attention (and thanks, 78.28, for using the admin help template to do so). Thanks, and happy editing! Writ Keeper  16:10, 10 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks to all who have helped sort this problem out - Binopippa2 Binopippa2 (talk) 16:52, 10 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Vorticism, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Paul Edwards, Arbuthnot and John Turnbull. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:42, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Binopippa2! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at John Stuart (actor) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Kj cheetham (talk) 23:06, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for you helpful explanation re the limits of marking a 'minor edit'. Binopippa2 (talk) 15:42, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
