Nice work
editBravo -- nice catch on spotting that old deletion and restoring it! I've done the same sort of thing several times myself, so I have a good idea how much work it takes to locate the offending edit. I'm curious, how far back was it, anyway? Cgingold 12:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, took quite some time to find this edit, dated April 25, 2006 ^_^ --bitterMan.lha 14:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Help needed
editI need someone who knows German to translate me whats written here. I really need the licence type and why it's public domain for this image. The German Wikipedia is the only Wikipedia i found a free image of the man. Hope for help, thank you. M.V.E.i. 18:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Dies gilt weltweit."
- My rough translation: According to the copyright law of the Soviet Union, all material - including images - published before 27 May, 1973 is in the public domain. This applies worldwide.
- NOTENOTENOTE: A quick skim through various talk pages in de.WP shows that the german WP'ers are still debating the validity of this USSR-pre-'27 May 1973'-public-domain-thing. As a safe haven most users suggest using the common '70 years post mortem auctoris', and that the status of copyright laws in the former Soviet Union is very unclear. Invitation to Wikipedia research by City University HK
editDear BitterMan,
I am Andreas Schroeder, a Research Fellow at City University in Hong Kong. Here at the University’s Center for Applied Knowledge and Innovation Management, we are currently conducting a research project on collaboration activities in Wikipedia. We are inviting experienced Wikipedians worldwide to share their experiences and views on different aspect of the community processes with us. Our aim is to find out how people integrate and coordinate their contribution efforts to ultimately better understand the mechanisms behind the amazing success of Wikipedia.
Because you are an experienced Wikipedian and a well integrated member of the Wikipedia community, we would like to talk to you about your experiences. We would like to do a short interview during the next two weeks either via Skype, MSN Messenger or telephone at a time that is most convenient for you. The interview should not take longer than 30 minutes and could be conducted in German or English.
We would very much appreciate your participation in this research project. Any information about participants will, of course, be kept strictly confidential. For further questions about the project and to arrange a date for an interview, please contact Andreas Schroeder at WikiResearchCityU{at}gmail.com or send me an email.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Andreas Schroeder, PhD

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template
editIn case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

Template:Infobox mountain
editYou are using {{Infobox mountain}} on your sub page User:BitterMan/Blast pit. Currently, that infobox uses deprecated parameter names. In the near future the template is to be updated and those parameter names will not work. You can change the parameter names yourself, or I can update the names for you using WP:AWB. If you would like me to take care of it drop a note on my talk page. I don't modify user pages without permission. –droll [chat] 18:40, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
editHello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
