editI left the following comment on the talk page for Cortical Reaction -- "It could be helpful to add to the page that during the well-studied sea urchin cortical reaction, the "elevation of the fertilisation envelope" is accomplished via glycosaminoglycans."
I left the following comment on the talk page for Endoderm -- "Perhaps it would be helpful to note that endoderm gives rise to to notochord, and perhaps discuss the various functions of the notochord during development?"

Comments: Length and date verified (4847 characters, Updated >5X on 11/02). Stub template removed. Hook is implied in the article but not clearly stated in the article with an immediate in-line citation. Please consider choosing another hook or edit the article. The references look good but could use a few more from the list of references on the Talk page from this editor. Since ref 2 and 3 are both article freely available online, please consider add links to the articles in the citations. First nomination, no QPQ needed.

- It is important that you communicate on the nomination template. Editing the article is good but not sufficient; you also need to explain how you have addressed the issues raised. Thanks; I hope to see your comments there soon. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:48, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Koller's sickle
editOn 26 December 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Koller's sickle, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Koller's sickle is also Rauber's sickle? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Koller's sickle. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Re Butoxyethanol: Welcome but be careful
editI have left similar messages on other sites related to this project. Editors are very happy to help you and your students, but we expect you to cooperate with our editing traditions:
- WP:MEDRS. Medical/health claims come from outstanding secondary sources not just ordinary journals.
- WP:SECONDARY. Citations should emphasize reviews and books. Encylopedias seek sources for highly digested information, usually, not specialized stuff in specialized journals.
- Chemistry articles are about chemistry. We do not replicate information in the MSDS. Articles are not forums for recent events (WP:NOTNEWS) and our articles are not textbooks (WP:NOTTEXTBOOK). We do not give advice WP:NOTMANUAL.
- Finally, please make your edits incrementally: do not have rewrite an entire article and then dump it on Wikipedia in place of the existing content. Such behavior is unwelcome. Make your changes in parts so that experienced editors can guide the revisions. In this way, other editors can help you and, more importantly, our readers. If the students are uncertain of technical details, they can ask at the relevant Talk pages, e.g., Talk:2-Butoxyethanol. Again, many editors can help you and your fellow students. Happy editing. ----Smokefoot (talk) 20:55, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 28
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2-Butoxyethanol, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CEPA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2-Butoxyethanol
editThank you for your additions, sources and all, to 2-Butoxyethanol. I do, however, have one caveat: Please avoid making connections between statements that are not supported by the individual sources. This may be mistaken for editorialising. For example, in this edit, you implied that the American Chemistry Council and the Soap and Detergent Association were actively resisting the addition of 2-Butoxyethanol to Schedule 1 of CEPA, which is not the case - as in, "no comments were received by the Department with respect to the proposed Amendments." Sometimes, you just need to read over your phrasing a second time before saving, things like this aren't always obvious at first glance. Yours, Tomásdearg92 (talk) 17:02, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
