Welcome to Wikipedia!
editHello Blowhard77, welcome to Wikipedia!
I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!
If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
You might like some of these links and tips:
- some General guidance.
- Tutorial and the Manual of Style.
- Find out how to revert, move and merge pages.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).
- Add yourself to the New user log and a regional notice board
- Ask questions at the Village pump or Help desk.
- Use the Show preview button
- Provide an Edit summary
- Add the correct image copyright tag to any images you upload
- Take a look at Consensus of standards
- Create a User page
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alf melmac 19:59, 11 November 2005 (UTC).

editI guess I have trouble understanding. Help to me clarify... How do your links follow Wikipedia's guidelines stated on Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not? Zzyzx11 (Talk) 17:13, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- So here what I figure is my problem: I am well familar with sites such as IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes because I see links to them everywhere and they have been extensively written about. But not the7thlevel.com. Therefore, could you point to me where exactly I can find stuff written about it from credible third party sources. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 18:59, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

- But you're right. You shouldn't invest time in websites you haven't heard of. In fact, feel free to never use Google again, since there will clearly never be a need for you to find new websites, since the ones you've already heard of are the only ones of merit. Of course, I only heard of Wikipedia a few weeks ago...
A word of advice friend: it is very unwise to use sarcasm when trying to persuade and influence someone. Quite frankly, I know a lot of people (including me) who, in many social situations, would immediately walk away and not listen anymore. After all, as the Sarcasm article says, "Sarcasm is sneering, jesting, or mocking a person".
That said, I will admit that I might be in error and those articles from those other web sites might follow under the Wikipedia:External links#Maybe OK to add. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:01, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
- When you add those links back in, and also when you make future edits, here are a few things you should keep in mind:
- When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page and the page revision history. If you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers.
- Remember to always sign all of your posts on talk pages. Typing four tildes after your comment ( ~~~~ ) will insert a signature showing your username and a date/time stamp, which is very helpful. Otherwise, it takes a little longer for users like me to know who the message is from.
- Sorry about out misunderstanding. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 20:36, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
