editHi. I've nominated Quentin L. Cook, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created on October 6, where you can improve it if you see fit.Alan 19:05, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Twitter is not an appropriate external link LeVar Burton
editPlease see our guidelines for external links: WP:EL. Twitter is specificly identified as a link normally to be avoided. (See #10 in this subsection WP:ELNO) Thank you! -- The Red Pen of Doom 01:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
The article List of films shown at Butt-Numb-A-Thon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Delete based on the consensus expressed in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of productions of the University of Canterbury Drama Society.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Abductive (reasoning) 20:34, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for the inconveniencies (sp)
editSorry about bugging you about the Masoli image, but wp has very strict copyright rules and everything must be done right to assure no laws are being broken. To fix this, here's what you need to do: 1. Remove the template that says you are the copyright holder from the image (since you admitted you aren't) 2. Either show a link to a blog where he has the image and expressly states it's CC or have him email someone from WP:OTRS to verify he licsened it as such. RF23 (talk) 22:49, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- We're getting closer.. There needs to be evidence that the person who took the photos has release the photos with those licsenses. It needs to be very clear cut (Example, if bob jones took the photos, somewhere on where they're originaly posted, he needs to say something along the lines of "I, bob jones, took these photos and am releasing them as a (CC3.0, public domain, ect ect)" or alternatively you could have him direclty send an email to one of the people on the link i gave early, and they'll get it all sorted out. RF23 (talk) 23:44, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- That still doesn't prove the copyright the way we need it to. I want it to be clear-cut that we can use the images so future editors don't think they're copyright violations (they look like the work of a professional photographer with a press pass- usually they copyright their images). There needs to be proof that a. The person who took the photos (the copyright holder) released them under liscenses (I'm just going to give up on spelling that word) so that they can be used here. Nothing else will work. RF23 (talk) 23:53, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Working on it right now. We'll get this right. Bobomejor (talk) 23:56, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 10
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of films shown at Butt-Numb-A-Thon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AFI (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:57, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
The article Neil Breen has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. - Yeah so I've declined this proposed deletion. A 30-second Google search has offered up multiple sources, so maybe be a little lighter on the trigger there G S Palmer. Saying that, Bobomejor, you might just want to slow down a touch on creating these articles for the director and all his films. There's no rush, let's make sure each one is up to scratch before moving onto the next one :) Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 02:16, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Fateful Findings (2013 film)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Fateful Findings (2013 film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2332623/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 01:53, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

editThank you for uploading File:Fateful-findings-film-cover.JPG. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 18:20, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
