I'd like to propose the old Bob Ross, Jr. to Robert Ross. Since the initial proposal was unsuccessful, Ross is now mentioned in two new Wikipedia pages, Pine Tree Golf Club and the Ohio Amateur, of which were significant milestones in his career. Ross is now mentioned in four Wikipedia articles, Ohio Amateur, List of Rollins College alumni, Pine Tree Golf Club and Boone Valley Golf Club. In summary, his accomplishments as a business person (PGA life member[1]) including being the first professional to introduce a computer to the game of golf that allowed players to enter a score after a round and see their latest USGA handicap and as the founder of Boone Valley (only a few if any pros ever have started a club like Boone Valley) are greater than his accomplishments as a junior golfer (see below... and as friends and competitors with Jack Nicklaus), collegiate golfer (NCAA D1 East All Star team in 1959) (also defeated Robert Shave in the finals of the 1957 Ohio Amateur and lead Rollins team success vs. FSU in 1958 and 1959) and early days as a pro on tour (MC in the 1961 US Open... while working for Claude Harmon at Winged Foot G.C. and Thunderbird C.C.).
Known as Robert Ross by USA Today[2] daily and the Ohio Golf Association, Ross defeated Robert Shave 8 & 6 in the thirty six hole final of the 1957[3]Ohio Amateur. Ross holed every putt in the morning round to shoot a course record sixty three at Springfield C.C.. Ross won Ohio Junior Championships in 1955 and 1956[4] and paired with Jack Nicklaus won the 1954 Ohio Junior Chamber of Commerce Championship presented by Milky Way Candy Bars at the Wooster College Golf Course and Hillcrest Golf Club. As a result, Ross went on to represent the State of Ohio in the International Jaycee event in Albuquerque, NM. Ross was #1 in his soph., jr. and sr. years on the Rollins College Men's Golf Team in 1956-'59 and was part of the most successful D1 Men's Golf Teams ever produced at Rollins in 1958 (NCAA D1 6th) and 1959 (NCAA D1 9th) (also 1957 NAIA 2nd). Ross was selected to the NCAA D1 East All Star team in 1959. Ross is also known as Robert Ross in Pine Tree Golf Club recorded club history and is the founder of Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Missouri.
