Hello, I'm Gamaliel. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Salon (website) without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! - I didn't remove any information, but added a line for his first wife, who is mentioned in the source, but without a name. The info on the second and third wives remains unchanged. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 16:52, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- I see what you were trying to do. If we don't know something (that is to say if it's not verifiable), we don't mention it or we omit it. In this case we don't know the 1990 spouse's name, so we omit it. General Ization Talk 16:53, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- It is enough to mention the unidentified marriage in the body. We don't need to add a line for the unknown spouse in the infobox. General Ization Talk 16:54, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Removed from infobox. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 16:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Elon University School of Law
Please elaborate on why data from the American Bar Association is not appropriate for a law school page. The descriptive language was neutral with a link to ABA materials. This was the first time the ABA released data looking at two-year pass rates and there is no standard among law schools for how to state that information on law school pages. As for the Elon Law bar passage rate from February 2018: this is not the first time the February bar exam results have been posted to Elon Law's web page. Please see edit history from 2017 which you made. Suggestions are welcomed for another way to state same information. Preference is to resolve in talk rather than ask for third-party opinions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delejst (talk • contribs) 15:35, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

Replying to your Pacific Equity Partners suggestion
Hello, thanks for your note. We are new to the wiki world, so appreciate your help while we learn the ropes. Will follow your suggestion of adding the annotation for connected contributor to disclose the COI, so that it is clear for readers and other editors. For context, it might help if I explain what we are trying to do and perhaps you can provide any other advice as to how we should go about it within Wikipedia.
We are trying to improve the article to make it factual. It’s good to know we should disclose the fact we are from PEP, we thought we were doing that by using a PEP email address. We linked to our website thinking that was a good primary source. As we are not a public company, and do not seek out publicity, there is not a lot of press about us (which makes it hard to link to other sources). There are a few, incomplete, external sources which we are concerned could lead to a less accurate description of our work. We’re looking to make a few more edits to make the entry complete and will do so with the COI annotation, but please let me know if that will cause a problem. Many thanks for your help. StaceyCretella StaceyCretella (talk) 05:35, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Replying on 11/04/2019 Thanks BubbaJoe for helping me become more educated about how Wikipedia works. Thanks also for making some of the edits to the PEP article page. As you mentioned, you’ve not made any changes to the list of investments. In a similar reply to Spintendo on their talk page, I’d made the point that it would be better to remove the list of investments given it incorrectly describes them as “notable” which in itself is a subjective rather than neutral adjective. In addition, I’m not clear why the random selection of investments has been listed given they are 7 out of a possible 30 (and there will likely be more in the future) so it doesn’t feel like an accurate representation. I think it would be better to remove the list of investments entirely so the entry remains factual or if we were going to keep any investments, we should list all of them. Kevin Tsujihara Scandal (March 2019)
I don't know why you removed my citation from the Kevin Wikipedia page without giving a proper explanation. As my end of the story was relevant to the latest development of the warner bros chief scandal. There are 8 citations there that were talking about the same story which I edited there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertttjami (talk • contribs) 14:54, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- As I noted on your talk page, if you're going to include this information, you need to provide a citation to a reliable source, and a blog that's designed to draw traffic to a site that sells cable television subscriptions doesn't meet that criterion.BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 15:16, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

COI Noticeboard
Hi, thanks for your edit to Anoka Primrose Abeyrathne. I see you are a regular contributor, so can I ask you whether my posting made sense or whether my question was out of scope for COIN? Any guidance is welcome as I get the impression that getting formal answers at COIN takes a while and does not always happen.TSventon (talk) 16:01, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- TSventon COIN was the right place for the post, and your concern's entirely valid. Sometimes you get a response there, sometimes editors just see the reference and make some edits/improvements (as I did), sometimes it's shouting into a void. Generally, remember WP:BOLD - go ahead and make the edits you see as appropriate, unless you're very uncertain, and then post to WP:COIN in the context of "saw problem X, took actions Y to resolve it, what do folks think?" BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 16:10, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

* I strongly believe that, as a citizen of the world, any person has the right to learn
- and should be entitled to have access to education according to their competency and needs.
- It is essential that the government provide educational services that respond to the people’s needs.
- Education, therefore, has to be organized in such a way that people from all walks of life can participate in educational activities at levels and times of their preference.
- With regard to the learning society, as I mentioned earlier, optimistically, people from all walks of life should be able to have equal access to education according to their needs and potentials.
- All sort of boundaries, be their gender, age, socio-economic status, physical or mental disabilities have to be eliminated.
The original story
On 26 December 1996, in a report in the Bangkok Post, the Rajabat Institute Council, the collective governing body of all of Thailand's colleges, declared that it would bar homosexuals from enrolling in any of its teacher training schools, the idea of Deputy Education Minister Suraporn Danaitangtrakul.[41] The announcement was strongly criticised by human rights groups and many others, who urged the repeal of the policy. On 25 January 1997, Danaitangtrakul proposed that the Institute set new criteria to bar people with "improper personalities", but not specific groups such as homosexuals.

- I'm sorry for being so irritable, but someone just left me a message on my talk page asking why I had given them an alert that their conduct was being discussed at ANI. The thread had already been archived, and they were very confused. The complaint was from several days ago, so the bot would have archived it anyway, but this problem is unnecessarily aggrevated by editors who immediately archive everything. It's even worse when the close was improper, and any chance to review what happened disappears because all the evidence is shuffled to some page that nobody ever reads. Some long-term problems need a better solution than the original close, and sometimes sock puppets get away without sanctions because the first administrator to respond didn't recognize them. In the grand scheme of things, archiving is not a big issue (anyone can check the archives), but it hides things that should not necessarily be hidden – not yet, at least. WP:LISTPEOPLE only applies to stand-alone lists
This is a friendly note to let you know that WP:LISTPEOPLE only applies to stand-alone lists; it does not apply to lists embedded in articles. WP:LISTBIO is what applies to embedded lists and it does not impose a requirement that entries in the list be independently notable. Instead, "inclusion in lists contained within articles should be determined by WP:SOURCELIST, in that the entries must have the same importance to the subject as would be required for the entry to be included in the text of the article according to Wikipedia policies and guidelines (including Wikipedia:Trivia sections)." ElKevbo (talk) 15:00, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification! BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 15:20, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- You're welcome. You're still on solid ground if you want to challenge or remove information that is unsourced, including people included in an embedded list when those people aren't supported by a source that explicitly links them to the subject. Some editors might object if you're aggressive about doing that e.g., removing unsourced information immediately instead of tagging with a "citation needed" template first.
- Additionally, it seems to be common practice that many editors overlook a sourceless entry in a list if (a) the entry has an article and (b) the article has adequate sources. You could copy one or more sources from the entry's article back to the list but I imagine that many of us see that as unnecessary busywork that is much lower priority than many other tasks. I noticed that you tagged Ann-Marie Adams with {{prod blp}} for proposed deletion. I have removed the tag from the article because it does not meet the criteria specified. Hello BubbaJoe123456. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Burford Capital, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:BubbaJoe123456. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=BubbaJoe123456|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. scope_creepTalk 16:18, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- scope_creep I have no connection to Burford Capital, paid or otherwise. I came across the article on WP:COIN, actually. Seemed that the heavy lifting in terms of removing COI content had already been done, but while looking at the COI edits, I did notice that one was to update the company logo. Since it's appropriate to use the current logo, I went ahead and made that update.BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 16:41, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

SJK 171
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment; I really appreciate it and was otherwise very discouraged. How would you suggest I proceed? I now know not to use the "this is a minor edit" flag unless it's literally just a typo correction or fixing punctuation or HTML. My edits were meant to incorporate a series of more authoritative recent articles that place SJK 171's role in the history of graffiti in better context. Would be grateful for any advice you can share. Thank you!! Rstats8108 (talk) 14:41, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Rstats8108 Happy to help. So you know the background, this article had a LOT of edits that were from editors with a clear conflict of interest (including possibly the subject), and there was a lot of cleanup work done to make the article meet Wikipedia standards, so there's sensitivity around edits that look like they might be a resumption of that.
Here's what I'd suggest:
- First, make your edits to the body of the piece, including the additional shows where his work has appeared. These are a lot less likely to be controversial.
- Use the preview function to make sure that everything looks right before you submit, rather than having lots of individual small edits, it's much easier to parse for other editors.
- For your proposed changes to the intro section (aka the lead or lede), create a new section on the article talk page explaining your proposed edits, and asking for commentary. Let me know if you need help with this.
Feel free to ping me if you want to discuss further. Any edits you make on my talk page will send me a notification. Also pinging Graywalls to keep them in the loop. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 14:57, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Thank you so much! This is very helpful. And thank you for tagging Graywalls as well. I will keep these guidelines in mind for the future and will keep you posted (and may come back with more questions). I really appreciate your patience. Happy New Year! Thanks for your feedback! How long do you suggest I wait for more feedback before going ahead and updating the intro? Rstats8108 (talk) 17:41, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

List of Vexillologists
Hey BubbaJoe,
I was wondering the reasoning behind the purge of the vexillologist list. There were a lot of good academic vexillologists deleted and I wasn't able to find a link to your justification. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aggiemini11 (talk • contribs) 17:51, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- Aggiemini11, you should check out the discussion on the article talk page. Short version is, articles that are lists of people are generally limited to people whose notability is already established, as shown by them having their own article. If it's a list of people where the population is clearly finite (i.e. presidents of XYZ University), then including people not already deemed notable can make sense, since there's a clear standard for inclusion. In this case, there isn't a finite population, so the notability criterion is most appropriate. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 21:32, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Quick note about lists of people
In this edit, you removed a few items in an embedded list of people in an article using the edit summary "Removed non-notables (without Wiki articles, per WP:LISTPEOPLE rule of thumb for notability)." I just want to point out that that guideline only applies to stand-alone lists; this is the relevant guideline for embedded lists. If you look into the Talk page for that guideline and its history, you'll see that the community has rejected the idea that independent notability is the appropriate standard for including information in an article, included in embedded lists.
(But the removal was still okay as the material was also unsourced.) ElKevbo (talk) 15:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- ElKevbo, thanks! I had that set up as a frequently-used edit summary, need to modify it! BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 20:22, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- You're welcome! There was a lot of discussion about this specific topic a year or two ago so things may have changed since you last looked into these guidelines. They're always a moving target so I appreciate your patience and responsiveness! ElKevbo (talk) 20:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:DFIN logo.PNG
A tag has been placed on File:DFIN logo.PNG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Adam Edelman
I don't have a conflict, but an avid follower of sliding sport and Israeli sport. IBSF medals are awarded for top 6 placements and this is a factual statement that Mr. Edelman received two top5 results to make the quota for 2018. Readily viewable in the IBSF final standings as well from 2018s combined ranking list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hellokitty227 (talk • contribs) 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Mark P. Taylor edits
Good afternoon. Thank you for your note and your guidance. I'll state up front that I do work for the business school where Mark Taylor is dean. My interest is in providing updated, properly sourced information about the dean and I'm happy to comply with the requirements to make suggestions. I apologize for running afoul of the rules. It has been some time since I made an update on Wikipedia and had not been aware of this requirement until now.
I will add the disclosure and propose further edits in the article's talk page.
QUOTING: Hello Kgreenbaum. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Mark P. Taylor, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Kgreenbaum. The template
This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by {{{employer}}} for their contributions to Wikipedia. |
can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form:
Kgreenbaum, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by InsertName for their contributions to Wikipedia. |
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message.

RE: Biography of Joseph Couture
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you because I have noted your willingness to both review material and be reasonable in your assessment of it. As a young man, I was inspired by this writer to come out. I feel it is a shame that this page has been vandalized repeatedly and reduced to a skeletal outline of his history. Now the suggestion has been put forward to delete it. I am hoping you will look at the matter.
In terms of the Hellan-Hammett award I offer the following links as proof of both the award and its importance. This is award is given out only to writers who have faced significant political persecution for their work, up to including imprisonment, threat of bodily harm or intense harassment and surviellance by state actors. It is given out by the Human Rights Watch in New York, who are recipients of the Noble Peace Prize. It is notable that Couture won it for several reasons. This kind of thing had never happened in Canada before and at the time he was the first and only journalist to have ever won the award. This fact was noted and published around the world, including the New York Times. I wish I could find that material, but much of it is not available on-line. As a result of what happened and the intense controversy that followed, Couture was named amongst the top newsmakers of the year. That reference is on the page from the Globe and Mail still on the Wiki page. I submit there are many more reasons to justify this page existing, but these alone are enough as it meets the criteria set out on Wiki about notability, credible sources and attention. I ask you to include any of this material you can ( I don't know how to insert links or references) and most things are removed quickly from this page if not placed by a someone with Wiki credentials. I feel there are more issues to be addressed, but I ask you to include these materials and remove the flag suggesting the page be removed

Counting On
Hello, please consider reviewing the source you removed again. Your revert reason is that it does not support the statement. But the source does actually tie the group, it's founder, the duggars, and the shows together 107.202.75.102 (talk) 22:21, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

- Source just says "the family belonged to IBLP’s homeschooling arm, the Advanced Training Institute," not that they were actually members of the IBLP, and certainly not enough to justify stating in the article lede that they're member of a "cult". BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 22:34, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- the article also has a section called "Big Supporters of the IBLP", with a photo of the cast of the show. The article makes it clear that the iblp is both a cult and that the duggars, with their show, are members — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.202.75.102 (talk) 23:08, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
