Current U.S. representatives templates
Hey, you've created all these Template:Current U.S. representatives from Alabama style templates but haven't used them in any article. Are these abandoned? Gonnym (talk) 10:41, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: I made them to standardise the list of representatives across the various articles such as United States congressional delegations from Alabama, Alabama's congressional districts, List of United States representatives from Alabama, and so on for the various states. After doing it for certain states, I lost access to my PC, and now I'm editing only from mobile, and doing this on mobile is very painful. So I wasn't able to complete the project but the existing ones are ready to use and I'll update it accordingly in a week or so. ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 13:39, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- 6 months later they are still unused. Gonnym (talk) 06:28, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: Most have at least 1 non-self transclusion, the only ones that do not are Delaware, Montana, ND, SD, Wyoming. Those in this list (User:CX Zoom/TestPage18) have 2 transclusions. I know I've been very slow, but I'm going to blame my exam schedule and ADHD-brain for that. *Hopefully* by the end of this month I shall complete it. Thanks for trouting! —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 10:11, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Take a look at Wikipedia:Database_reports/Unused_templates/1 there are 5 representative templates, and 45 senators templates. Gonnym (talk) 12:45, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Fair thing, the senator templates will have transclusions, as this list (User:CX Zoom/TestPage18) continues to get updated. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 13:40, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Template section sizes
Hello. Regarding your recent edits to Module:Section sizes, would you please reinstate the "hidden" subsection total sizes from the "Section total" column? These are needed to properly sort the table. --Ita140188 (talk) 09:05, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Ita140188: I was unaware that it was required for proper sorting. Thanks for letting me know. The existing coloring did not give intended result when WP:Dark mode (gadget), etc. were used. So I removed it. I'll change it to color:transparent to (probably) fix both the issues. ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 09:14, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Page mover granted
Hello, CX Zoom. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

No proof that Warner Bros. Feature Animation is the new name for Warner Animation Group.
This makes no sense. There is absolutely no information on the Variety article that Warner Animation Group is going to be renamed to Warner Bros. Feature Animation, as the "Warner Animation Group" is still used today. The Warner Animation Group name and logo are still used. Warner Bros. Feature Animation (1994-2004) is the successor to Warner Animation Group. The Variety article accidentally called it "Warner Bros. Feature Animation" without the information that Warner Animation Group will be renamed. With the case of that studio, it still uses the Warner Animation Group name. Therefore, the information that Warner Animation Group is going to be renamed to Warner Bros. Feature Animation is actually false. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VictorPinas17 (talk • contribs) 09:46, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

Quiz generation
Based on the current VPR conversation, what should the quiz be on? I was thinking there should be some question(s) from WP:TFA, since those articles are definitely at a higher standard than ITN / DYK. Sungodtemple (talk) 22:11, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Sungodtemple: Sorry for the late response. Well, I haven't really thought about it. Personally, I'd think of questions from a variety of topics (provided that they're supported by inline sources) and possibly a bonus question from that day's TFA. Thoughts? —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 19:23, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Well, which topics precisely? The 'topic selection' process is probably the most difficult one, and I think it would be very prone to bias. What about one question from each of WP:VITAL1 topics? I can't seem to think of anything better. Sungodtemple (talk) 03:13, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- VITAL1 is too small a list. Wouldn't it be repetitive to have questions come from the same 10 articles every now and then? Further, there are 1 FA & GAs each, and 6 are C-class. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 05:14, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

CSD...?
Just curious, why put this up for deletion? (and why notify PaleoNeonate about it?) I only ask because I was about to revert you, but Liz beat me to it. Thanks - wolf 18:31, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Thewolfchild: Typically IP users don't (shouldn't) have userpage. That's a reason why default MediaWiki IP signature links to their contributions instead of userpage. Further, the page was created by PaleoNeonate with the text
User page creation attempt for IP address user 142.160.131.202
which appeared pretty much a test edit (WP:CSD#G2) Also, the IP talk pages of those who haven't edited in a long time with {{Blanked IP talk}} and removing all content from those pages. In view of all them, I thought it was appropriate to delete that userpage. Now, I think probably not. Will take care of that going ahead. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 19:29, 4 October 2022 (UTC)- Yes, "typically" IP users don't have (active) user pages but many do, and is there a policy that says they can't or "shouldn't"...? But as you point out, it was PaleoNeonate that activated the page, way back when they were new(er?), five years ago. All that IP user did was redirect their (now active) user page to their talk page, something that many registered users do (myself included), and which is about as benign an action as they could possibly do. In the case of IP user pages, such redirects makes very little difference, since they're not typically used anyway. That said, I just didn't see the need for deletion request or the ping, and was just curious about the reasons. Thanks for the response. - wolf 23:40, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

Mahsa Amini page move
Hi CX Zoom, I'm writing to follow up about your close of the page move discussion while the Mahsa Amini(Jina) AfD was pending, when two participants objected to the move happening while the AfD was pending, and one said "but would also recommend a merge discussion with Death of Mahsa Amini". It is unclear to me how this constitutes what you cited as WP:AVALANCHE & WP:NOTBURO. If you could clarify your reasoning, that would be appreciated. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 22:24, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Beccaynr: It is clear that Mahsa Amini(Jina) is a very improper article title and falls short of guidelines at WP:NCPEOPLE. The disambiguation is so improper here that now that it is a redirect, it would be WP:RfDable, which I'm holding on until the AfD is complete. For (1) Elli had already moved the article, which I could've reverted, but (2) the consensus on RM was overwhelmingly in support of name change, including Keivan.f. PamD opposed the RM on the grounds that AfD is currently on, and did not oppose on the basis of (de)merits of the proposed name, which was a !vote I did not give much weight to because of this very recent failed RfC that sought to ban moves during AfDs. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 22:43, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, CX Zoom. My concerns are 1) there did not appear to be overwhelming support for the move, which also replaces the redirect to the Death of Mahsa Amini, 2) the editor who created the Mahsa Amini(Jina) article and page move discussion had attempted to rename the Death of Mahsa Amini, was reverted, and then the page was protected (this is discussed in the AfD, e.g. [2] ) and 3) the article now named Mahsa Amini appears to be a POV fork. While Mahsa Amini(Jina) is an improper article title, it may have been chosen to evade the page protection implemented by Tamzin, so I have some concerns about this move being made during this AfD, due to the particular circumstances. It may be better to revert the move by Elli and allow the page move discussion to continue after the AfD concludes, if the article is kept instead of deleted or merged. Beccaynr (talk) 23:13, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- Also, I think the RFC: Add Instruction Not to Move discussion does not necessarily support downweighting participants who supported waiting for this AfD to end. This may be an unusual situation, but the RfC outcome appears to encourage flexibility and responsiveness to the particular circumstances, including consideration of participants who suggest waiting for an AfD to conclude. Beccaynr (talk) 23:45, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Beccaynr: Sorry for the late response. Actually I think all things considered, the move was appropriate. Ofcourse a consensus at AfD will supersede a local RM and it may get deleted, renamed, draftified. I'd like to know what @Elli thinks and if she would vacate her move, I'll reopen and relist the RM. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 05:13, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, CX Zoom, I appreciate your perspective on this as an uninvolved participant in the AfD, and for considering my perspective. Cheers, Beccaynr (talk) 06:15, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Beccaynr: I apologize for not closing the RM when I did the move, that was an oversight on my part. It seemed to me that the RM was opened because the editor who opened it did not have the technical ability to move the page, and not because they thought the move would be controversial. There was no substantive opposition to the move (obviously, because the previous title was blatantly incorrect), and it explicitly is allowed to move articles that are at AfD (and while for more controversial moves it's good to avoid that, this was effectively just fixing a typo). Elli (talk | contribs) 07:06, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, Elli, and one of the things I appreciate about Wikipedia is that it has a lot of self-correcting mechanisms, so one way or another, the underlying issues will get resolved. This does appear to be an obvious move because of the blatantly incorrect title, but may be controversial based in part on the September 2022 discussion on the talk page of the editor who created the article and the page move discussion. However, the AfD will address the larger issue of whether this article should currently exist, and if the article is kept, editors can continue removing unreliable sources and applying NPOV policy. Thank you both for discussing this with me - I am not very familiar with the RM process, so I also appreciate your help with my learning process. Beccaynr (talk) 13:41, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you, CX Zoom, I appreciate your perspective on this as an uninvolved participant in the AfD, and for considering my perspective. Cheers, Beccaynr (talk) 06:15, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello, CX Zoom,
Just a reminder, when you move a page, remember to move the talk page, too. If it is an orphaned main space talk page, it can easily be deleted when it should be moved instead. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 08:38, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Liz: Thanks for pointing this out. Although I typically take great care to do that, and have myself been de-orphaning old talk/archives for about a week now, I really don't know how this one got left out, because as far as I remember, I had checked the move talk button. I would certainly make sure to double check that everything is properly moved going ahead. Thanks again! —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 09:11, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
