The Book of Dreams

edit

I must have dreamt the Gaean Reach. It's been fixed. Clarityfiend 23:29, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I found this in the Jack Vance article: "While Vance's stories have a wide variety of temporal settings, a majority of them belong to a period long after humanity has colonized other stars, culminating in the development of the "Gaean Reach." In its early phases (the Oikumene of the Demon Princes series), this expanding, loose and peaceable agglomerate has an aura of colonial adventure, commerce and exoticism." So it seems that the two phrases are interchangeable. Clarityfiend 08:17, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Billy the Cat and Katie

edit

You need to read WP:OR if you haven't already. I had to delete your Spidey reference yesterday on those grounds. Sorry. Digifiend (talk) 09:19, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you say so. Can't let just anyone, even someone who remembers Billy from the 1960s, go around offering comments on the conversational habits of a cartoon character from a pre-teens' comic, or where would our scholarship be?Captain Pedant (talk) 22:59, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This doesn't belong on the article page, because I'm completely unable to substantiate it, but I heard the Germans once built a wooden town and factory complex as a decoy for RAF bombing raids. Unfortunately for the Germans, British Intelligence became aware of it, and when the town was finished a single Mosquito flew over and dropped a wooden bomb on it. :D Captain Pedant (talk) 14:46, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

I have removed that because WP is not a place to share urban myths. I (German, * 1965, widely read) have made almost 30.000 edits in WP in the last three years (many about WK I and II) and would bet that such a 'Potemkin village' did not exist. --Neun-x (talk) 08:49, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

One Face

edit

You made a comment on the talk page of Inconstant Moon about the section on the short story "One Face" not being quite accurate. I've made some small changes, have a look at it and see if reads truer to you now. -- PaulxSA (talk) 20:18, 2 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

thanks for your detailed answer! I have taken it as a motive to translate the article

[1] and to [2]

I have also writen an email to http://www.remembrancetrails-northernfrance.com/ and made the proposal to add this church to that site.

btw: the english WOP article says " Land was given by the town".

http://www.stgeorgesmemorialchurchypres.com/history.html says "The land was duly purchased of the widow of Arthur Merghelynck, town archivist and founder of the Merghelynck museum." Is there a contradiction ? Did the town buy the land - or the association ? (perhaps a good question for a pedant ?)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited J. T. Edson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Friends with benefits.
