Question from my talk page

edit

I'm not sure what you're asking about. Could you provide a link to show me? Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 01:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

As to your question about Rockville, MD, I don't think I said anything to you regarding it (you can look at the history of this page and see). If I'm wrong, you'll have to point me to which page I made the comment on. If you're referring to the message box above, it is just a general welcome message and doesn't refer to any edits in particular. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 02:12, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry about it. That's an honest mistake. Welcome messages aren't automatic, so it is possible to make a number of edits before someone notices that your account is actively editing and welcomes you. Feel free to place welcome messages on others' pages if you wish. The templates can be found at Wikipedia:Welcome templates. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 02:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: reversion

edit

Hi there - I think you're referring to a reversion I made to List of jazz musicians. I removed a vandalism edit (someone inserted "i hate jazz" into the article), reverting back to the last legitimate edit, which was yours. So it says "revert to revision...by Carlaclaws". I didn't revert your edits, I reverted back to your last edit. Let me know if this clears things up, or if I'm mistaken. - Special-T 16:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Relentless7

edit

Notability for bands is defined at WP:BAND. No wonder I could not remember the article. It was deleted back in November 2008. I have userfied it to User:Carlaclaws/Relentless7 for you to work on and add all this info. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 12:07, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Freebo

edit

A tag has been placed on Freebo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. magnius (talk) 12:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

moving pages

edit

Hi, I see that you moved Zephyranthes atamasco to Zephyranthes atamasca via copy and paste. Although I agree that the latter is the right name for this article, in the future if you need to move pages please follow the instructions at WP:MOVE. In particular, use the "move" button, not copy-paste. Thanks. Kingdon (talk) 02:43, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Question about Roscoe Lee Browne

edit

Hi Carlaclaws - in the talk section of the Roscoe Lee Browne article you mention your father saying Browne had been his track coach. I've been trying to verify references I've seen to Browne supposedly having been a track star, that he won the 800 yards at the 1951 World Track and Field Championships. However I can find nothing to back this up other than essentially the same claim copy/pasted in various places on the internet. No photos or film of Browne in a track uniform or running a race, nothing substantiating him winning anything. Do you know any additional details? Thanks!
