Our conflict of interest policy
editHello, Carrieruggieri. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:46, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Aedp chart.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Aedp chart.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:06, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
Problems with upload of File:Aedp chart.png
editThanks for uploading File:Aedp chart.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Carrieruggieri, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:25, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
ok. I have deleted the sections I am actively working on. I will work on them in a word document. The sections completed should not have any copyrighted information. If you detected something could you please let me know what that is so that I can correct it? thank youCarrieruggieri (talk) 17:34, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
If something is copyrighted on the page it is crossed out - that is my cue . the draft is a work in progress. If you found something that is copywriter please let me know what that is. I have been extremely careful. please do not deleteCarrieruggieri (talk) 17:30, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Dear Dianna, I reviewed the information you deleted. I have a few questions and comments about the copyright issue while writing a draft.
1. I first encountered this issue in Feb. and I received this message:" Please remove ALL copyrighted content before submitting for review. Theroadislong (talk) 14:13, 7 February 2016 (UTC)". The point here is BEFORE submitting for review. I was working on a draft.
2. a few of the selections you deleted,were selections had copied pasted to my workspace for my personal reference to work on later. These selections were referenced and some had quotes and referenced and had a strikethrough line - so there is no chance anyone would think those excerpts were written by me. Also, a few phrases were tagged as copyrighted.. I see only one of them as sentences that could likely be from another source.
3. some of what was selected to be deleted is technical language: i.e., moment-to-moment tracking... how can these issues be dealt with without deleting a persons page?
4. nowhere in the section about writing in the draft space, does it say to not use copyrighted material while you are creating your draft. Of course, one doesn't submit a draft for review with copyrighted material.
5. New writers should be told that copyrighted material from drafts in progress will be deleted. And, a draft space is therefore a misleading term.
6. Isn't it just as easy to ask me to correct the problem with my draft rather than deleting it? When I saw "all or part of my article is deleted" I practically had a heart attack.Carrieruggieri (talk) 14:17, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Please help me with... I would like to annotate a few references on my page AEDP... I do see a way to do that using the template provided. Or, I could use footnotes, but, I don't see a template provided for footnotes. Thank you. Carrieruggieri (talk) 10:26, 3 July 2016 (UTC) Thank you Huon Carrieruggieri (talk) 10:26, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
- See Help:Footnotes for an introduction to footnotes. On a more general note, annotating references seems like a kind of original research to me. We should summarize what the references report, not comment on them. Huon (talk) 10:57, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

editHello again Carrie. As you'll have seen above I've just accepted your submission to AfC. I understand it's been a bit of long slog, so thank you for sticking with the process and contributing such a wealth of information.
However, the work doesn't stop when the draft is published! Wikipedia articles are never finished and I hope you'll continue to improve accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy. In particular, I find the article quite hard to follow as a non-expert, and it would be good if you could add more context and explanation, maybe cut down on theory and jargon, so it's more accessible to the general reader (Wikipedia's audience). For example, the first part of the article (the lead) should provide a very high-level, concise summary of the topic suitable for someone who has no idea what it is. At the moment your lead goes into considerably more detail than that, so I would suggest moving it to a section of the article and writing a more accessible one.
Happy editing! Joe Roe (talk) 16:48, 19 August 2016 (UTC) Thank you Joe Roe, I will definitely work on your suggestions. I appreciate your feedback. Carrie Carrieruggieri (talk) 17:10, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Diana Fosha2.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Diana Fosha2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —teb728 t c 21:07, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Carrieruggieri. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Draft:Diana Fosha, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Missvain (talk) 07:22, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi Missvain, I am in the process of re-writing the draft: diana fosha. I do not believe I have a conflict of interest based on what wikipedia defines as COI. Though Dr. Fosha acknowledged me in a footnote to her transcript in her 2009 book, we are not professional associates. The acknowledgement was for a statement I made in a writeup to the aedp listserve on her seminar which featured a video-tape of the session she transcribed in the book. She was very generous to acknowledge me. I am a student of AEDP and not a peer affiliate by any means. I am not being paid, or advanced by writing these articles on aedp, and now diana fosha. I suppose the closest analogy would be an undergraduate student's relationship to a department chair in a graduate program. carrieruggieri Carrieruggieri (talk) 22:34, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Carrieruggieri. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:43, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

5. A comparison of this draft and the deleted article shows that they are substantially different, but this draft appears to be a reworking of the deleted article, or based on the same sources as the deleted article. It therefore does not address the concerns of the deletion discussion.
6. There probably should be an article on Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy. It should be separate from the article on Diana Fosha, but shorter than either this draft or the deleted article. This draft is not that article that we should have. Neither is the deleted article. (That is, I concur with the deletion.)
7. There is no reason to think that this submitter is going to provide a suitable draft for review. This draft should be blown up and started over.

editPlease be very careful to stand away from it, lest you be criticised for COI editing. I am aware that your actual COI is trivial here, but it is well to be circumspect. You may obviously participate in any possible future deletion discussion. If that happens still stand back and do not plunge in at once, however hard that might feel. If you need to argue there do it based purely upon policy.
If you feel it needs an edit, please deploy {{Request edit}} on its talk page, with details of your edit. An example might be "Replace [these words] with [these new words] because (citation)"
The most important thing you can do is to be a spectator, to watch with interest what happens to it, but to choose not to be concerned at all. Be its father and let it graze its knees and fall into the river. Do not be its mother and wrap it in warm towels and prevent it form coming to harm. Remember that your words are not sacrosanct however much hard work you put into crafting them. Others may use poorer language, better language, different language, mayaffectf the meaning, but your very mild COI status means you need to stand clear. Fiddle Faddle 06:54, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi I hope you are still on wikipedia. the aedp article was deleted completely - there is no trace of it. There was no notification. there is not even a talk page. Can you help? Carrieruggieri (talk) 02:16, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
Timtrent, Thank you for your wise guidance. I love the idea of being it’s after not it’s mother. I am happy to be a spectator and to let it be a Wikipedia article and no longer my project. I look forward to other Wikipedia projects that interest along the way. I’ve learned so much in the last 4 years and I am grateful for all of it. Carrieruggieri (talk) 11:28, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

COI (again)
editHere you wrote the following sentences:
- I use AEDP as one of my methods of practice as a psychotherapist.
- There is no potential for me to receive financial benefit, direct or indirect, from the publication of an article on AEDP in wikipedia
The first sentence appears to be true, so the second cannot be true. Especially considering the fact that the AEDP article used to contain promotional language.
If your customers look up AEDP online, and they see an article on Wikipedia praising it, you receive financial benefit from that. That is a conflict of interest. Polygnotus (talk) 05:17, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
