There are no wikilinks to articles in userspace. Wikilinks are to link other articles. In order to have a name in a list, the person must have an article first. It is a conflict of interest to add oneself like this. Bgwhite (talk) 21:32, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

If an article was created with similar content and references, would it then be ok to link the name in the list? Cela Yildiz (talk) 22:20, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Cela yildiz

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cela yildiz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2553510/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Largo Plazo (talk) 23:49, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site, and content that is in any way promotional is not permitted here. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 23:52, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Cela yildiz‎‎, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 00:16, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think I now understand the notification why the article Cela Yildiz should be deleted. I can't find how I can delete the article. Now I notice that my User page also has a warning. Can I go on keeping my user page? Cela Yildiz (talk) 00:24, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Deleting the article isn't something you do: because I placed the tag there, an administrator will come along and take care of it.
I'm afraid a user page can't be used in that way either. See WP:User pages for information on proper uses of a user page. For the most part it should be a profile of you as a contributor to Wikipedia, and you can use it as a test environment for your Wikipedia work. It isn't meant to serve as a medium for publicity, like a Facebook page, because Wikipedia isn't a web host. —Largo Plazo (talk) 00:33, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Most of the information was there for years now. Recently I discovered how to make some changes, like placing a photo and links. Only today I noticed, there is a difference between an article and user page My intention was not to use it a medium for publicity, all this info is already on social media, just wanted to provide more information. Maybe I got a little to creative with it, I am an artist after all. ;-) What exactly should I change to keep it? Cela Yildiz (talk) 00:44, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I just looked at the version of your user page that you had in place since 2009. Probably no one ever noticed it before—I don't know that anybody patrols new user pages the way we patrol new articles—but it wasn't a proper use of the page. Other social media is for that sort of use, but Wikipedia isn't. A little leeway is sometimes given to people who are for the most part here to contribute to this website, but I see that your use of Wikipedia has only been to post material about yourself. Sorry, I'm afraid you let the cat out of the bag today! —Largo Plazo (talk) 00:50, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

This was exactly my intention too, contribute to this website , providing info first hand. I would like to contribute in the future. How can I keep my user page and what should I change for now? Cela Yildiz (talk) 01:21, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
