Speedy deletion nomination of Charles Weinblatt
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Charles Weinblatt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Rittmeester (talk) 06:46, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
Your user page
editI have deleted User:Charles Weinblatt as a result of a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Somchet Isarankura, which covered two other similar user pages. The point is that Wikipedia is not a site like LinkedIn or Myspace for people to post their CVs or career details: it is a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia, "users" are the volunteers who are here to help with the encyclopedia, and user pages are intended for them to say something about themselves, if they choose, to help communication within the project. User pages are not intended for substantial content... that is unrelated to Wikipedia such as detailed biographies or CVs, particularly if the users are not here to make any other contribution.
When I came to this talk page to tell you, I saw that you have recently put updated material here. I have moved that to a "user sub-page" at User:Charles Weinblatt/Charles Weinblatt, where you can work on it if you wish. As I have explained, it is not appropriate material for your user page; if you want to consider making it an encyclopedia article, you should be warned that, for reasons explained at Wikipedia:Autobiography, people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves. If you want to proceed, read:
- WP:Your first article
- WP:Notability
- WP:Notability (people)
- WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest
and when your draft is ready, submit it at WP:Articles for creation, declaring your interest. One thing it is important for you to understand: unlike LinkedIn, you will not own any article about yourself: other users can and will edit it, you will not be able to insist on you preferred version, and you may encounter Wikipedia's Law of Unintended Consequences.

Your accounts
editYou seem to have three accounts on the go:
- CWeinbl, created 1 Dec 2008, renamed 6 Feb 2010 to Charles S. Weinblatt (talk · contribs), last edited 6 Feb 2010
- Cweinbl (talk · contribs) created again 9 Feb 2010, last edited 4 Sep 2011
- this one, Charles Weinblatt (talk · contribs) created 6 June 2010, last edited 6 Jun 2010
Since Charles S. Weinblatt and Charles Weinblatt each edited only on a single day, and only to their own user pages, I guess that you were under the misapprehension that this was a site like Myspace, and that you were creating articles about yourself. As I have explained above, that is not so, and use of multiple accounts is discouraged for reasons explained at WP:Sockpuppetry. Please choose one account and use only that one. Advertisement deleted
editUnder the Cweinbl account was a page User:Cweinbl/Charles Weinblatt which I have deleted because it was a blatant advertisement for your book Jacob's Courage, complete with glowing reviews and links to booksellers and to a Youtube video trailer. Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion of any kind, even in user pages, and anything like that is deleted at sight. JohnCD (talk) 19:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
