Hi. I noticed you erased the whole Walter Russell talk page. Please do not do that without moving the discussion to an archive page (I did it for you). Drmab (talk) 20:35, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Isn't it about time the Walter Russell article was newly rated? Those of us who worked on it have met all the criteria.Chazhardy (talk) 02:52, 26 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I suggest you request an assessment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drmab (talkcontribs) 21:34, 26 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Evaluation

edit

I read the Walter Russell page with interest, and I upgraded it from 'Start' to 'C'. I would have gone for a 'B' if it had been illustrated with some of Russell's works. Surely there's something out of copyright, or a person's own photo of one or more of the works. It's hard to evaluate an artist without seeing his art. --Vicedomino (talk) 12:40, 28 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

DS Alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

How can you be so arrogant? Walter Russell conceived of a new Periodic Chart of the Elements in 1926 and you think it is pseudoscience and should not be shown for that reason? You are the arbitors of knowledge?Talk about the evils of the establishment!Chazhardy (talk) 02:01, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia doesn't censor pseudoscience. We do however cover it with WP:DUE due weight, which usually means that pseudoscience is due very little weight. Walter Russell's article has already been to the fringe theories noticeboard (see this thread) where it was resoundingly established as pseudoscience. That doesn't mean we don't cover Russell, it just means we don't give credence to his more out there ideas. I suggest you take the above warning seriously, as you would not be the first person to be sanctioned because of Walter Russell or pseudoscience. But if you are willing to follow policy (i.e. be WP:CIVIL and use reliable sources, among others) I would be happy to work with you to improve Russell's article, as it is in bad shape. Managing a conflict of interest on Wikipedia

edit

I only looked briefly but I don't think you have received this standard message yet. Considering this declaration it may be relevant so I'll post it. That's from about a year ago, but I'm not up to date yet with that talk page.

  Hello, Chazhardy. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —PaleoNeonate10:44, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
