Mongolian script

edit

Hi, you made the interwiki link from Mongolian script to mn:Уйгаржин бичиг. Is that the official Mongolian term? How do you distuinguish the "real" old Uyghur script? Uyghur alphabet currently is a disambig page in English, but what is called old Uyghur alphabet there might eventually turn into a seperate article. What would the Mongolian interwiki target be when that happens? --Latebird 17:21, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

It has been moved to "mn:Уйгаржин монгол бичиг", (Uighur mongol script), which is a more appropriate and commonly used term. --Chinneeb 13:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Makes sense, thanks! --Latebird 14:44, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mongolia work group

edit

Hi, I'd like to invite you to the Mongolia work group of the WikiProject Central Asia. You're welcome to add that page to your watchlist and participate in discussions there. So far, many general discussions about topics related to Mongolia have been discussed on individual user's talk pages, away from the attention of a wider audience. I hope that a centralized talk page will make communication between all of us easier. If a question doesn't primarily concern just one specific user, then the work group is probably the right place to ask it. See you there! --Latebird (talk) 06:23, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TV8 Mongolia.GIF)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TV8 Mongolia.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion nomination of Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences

edit

A tag has been placed on Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 08:35, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Chinneeb,

I only deleted Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences because there was an AFD for it before. Normally I would not delete articles for future shows or films as a speedy delete, but since the AFD was closed as delete, it qualifies for speedy delete until the episode is aired. If you really want to delete all the other episodes you can nominate them too! But I will likely decline them. You can have the article in User:Chinneeb/Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences if you request. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:14, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, it's possible that it could become notable before it airs. But not yet. I haven't seen the new version before it was deleted, but if it contains the same information that Futurama Wiki and the Infosphere currently, that's just not going to cut it. I do not oppose creation later when there is significant coverage. Just not now. Reach Out to the Truth 13:18, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:MongoliaBasketball.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:MongoliaBasketball.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:07, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thank you for uploading File:MongoliaBasketball.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Melesse (talk) 20:09, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Chinneeb. I saw you listed at Category:User mn-N and I was hoping you could help me with the traditional Mongolian language.

My second son is going to be born soon and I'd like to tattoo his name on my arm. My first son's name is tattooed in traditional Chinese around my wrist, but I'd like my second son's name to be tattooed vertically down my arm to "balance" it with my left arm which also has a large pictorial tattoo. Mongolian is the only vertical language I can think of, and I think it's quite pretty, too.

Because you are familiar with the Mongolian language and alphabet, would you be willing to write my son's name and upload it somewhere like Commons, Flickr or Image Bucket for me? Hand written is fine, as is a computer generated image from a Font. His name will be McKenzie Hunter, Hunter being his middle name, not his surname.

Please feel free to say no if you're uncomfortable or unwilling. Thank you in advance, Matthewedwards :  Chat  07:50, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello - I was hoping you may be able to help me translate a few words of Mongolian. I'm looking at the election results for the 2009 presidential elections in Mongolia and there are around 1,700 "mystery" votes. On the Electoral Commission website, these are listed in two columns as "Тэмдэглээгүй" and "Бүх нэр дарсан". I understand from a rough translator machine that the second may be write-ins, but any confirmation would be great. Thanks! Number 57 10:08, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Тэмдэглээгүй means "nothing written", and Бүх нэр дарсан means "picked all". Basically the voting sheet had 3 names, of which you had to pick just one. I guess the two are protest votes. --chinneeb-talk 08:57, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fantastic - much appreciated. Strange that they don't just include them under invalid votes as is usual in other countries. Number 57 09:26, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ulaanbaatar Broadcasting System.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Ulaanbaatar Broadcasting System.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:19, 30 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Vanja Milinković

edit

The article Vanja Milinković has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFOOTBALL ... WP:TOOSOON at the moment.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mongolian wrestler

edit

Hi, I from Russian Wikipedia. There is one problem, I hope you can help me.

There is Mongolian wrestler Chimedbazaryn Damdinsharav, he won the bronze medal in the men's Freestyle Flyweight at Olympic-1968. This name, for example: here. But in official report of Olympic-1968 he is named like Sukhbaatar, Surenjav, in data at unitedworldwrestling.com Suchebator, Surenjav. It seems like some mistake. Who is Sukhbaatar, Surenjav (Suchebator, Surenjav)? Why this error had been happened? Someone who has name S.Surenjav is noted in this article, but I do not understand what link is between Chimedbazaryn Damdinsharav with S.Surenjav. And something is here. ESEAP Conference 2018

edit

Hello Chinneeb,

I’m Irvin from PhilWiki Community, a member of the Communication Committee of the ESEAP Conference. ESEAP Conference 2018 is a regional conference for Wikimedia communities throughout the ESEAP region: ESEAP stands for East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific. Taking place in Bali, Indonesia on 5–6 May 2018, this is the first regional conference for these Wikimedia communities.

East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific are the most under-represented regions within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors in our regions, yet we continue to struggle in establishing a well-managed community. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together in order to better understand the issues and to look for solutions. It also aims to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within ESEAP regions, to share ideas, and to build regional collaborations that are impossible to achieve through online communication.

We’ve got a lot of participation from several countries, but we’re lacking from your country. As we need more participants from your country, we believe that your contribution and participation would be a valuable asset to the success of this event. If you would like to participate in the conference, please do fill the form as soon as possible (by April 5, 2018) and we’ll inform you if you get selected for the conference.

Thank you and we hope to see you soon. --Filipinayzd 16:19, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:14, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MongolianAirlines.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:MongolianAirlines.png.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:04, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

An article you recently created, Sodnomzunduin Erdene, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Tumur-Ochir Tserendovdon moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Tumur-Ochir Tserendovdon, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).   Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Chinggis Khaan International Airport, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Johnj1995 (talk) 22:30, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Lmao. Ok. I started, and have been maintaining, that article since 2012, before you created your account on Wikipedia. Due to various changes to Mongolia's air traffic policy, the destinations of flights out of UBN have been changing week-by-week. This was simply an effort to make the table more maintainable, as a jumble of ref tags in one line don't make for easy editing, and I added that info in the edit tags.
I'll give you some feedback. Your revert may be needed, as it may break accessibility. Then give me a link to a rule about not allowing line breaks within tables in airport articles, not just a link to the MoS. And don't message legacy users in a snarky way like this, you're simply driving people away.
Also, due to various things going on in my life, sometimes that article gets outdated, sometimes it gets vandalised. How about you start looking at useful things like that, instead of harassing users trying to actually make sure the information presented is correct? chinneeb-talk 23:21, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Custom signature fix needed

edit

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:19, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
