Edits on Space Shuttle page

edit

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I reverted your edits on the Space Shuttle page regarding the Lego models of the Space Shuttle. In particular, it looks like there were two issues with the changes you made. First, you replaced a fully fleshed out reference with just a bare URL reference. Per WP:CITEWEB, references should have more information than just a link to the page. Second, the article stated that there was a Lego model of the Space Shuttle, while your changes stated that there were multiple Lego models. The reference you provided still only pointed to a single Lego model, so there needs to be a source pointing to multiple Lego models before that can be in the article. Let me know if you have any questions! It looks like you're relatively new to Wikipedia (at least editing with this username) so welcome! Balon Greyjoy (talk) 09:17, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's okay! I would've added more URLs on Lego sets like set numbers 1682 (Legoland) 3367 (City, which I actually have), 6339 (System), 7470 (STS-31 Discovery), 10213 (Adventure), 10231 (Expedition, another set I have), 31066 (Explorer, the reverted URL), and 60080 (Spaceport, the URL I replaced it with); but unfortunately, there aren't any yet and I could only find articles from https://brickipedia.fandom.com (a Fandom website dedicated to Lego sets0 and other shops like Amazon and EBay. Can you help me?
Yes, I'm relatively new to Wikipedia.
-Chris25689 (talk) 06:41, 14 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately Brickpedia, Ebay, and Amazon are not categorized as a WP:RELIABLE SOURCE, so we cannot use them in an article. Not sure about finding other sources. While I commend your efforts in finding more information, I'm not too concerned about its inclusion in the page (personal opinion only; I'm just one person on the internet) as I don't think the change from one Lego set to multiple Lego sets changes much about the overall information about the Space Shuttle (would be a different case if the page is about Space Shuttle Lego sets). On a side note, it looks like you are manually entering in your signature to posts. You can auto-sign it with your info and date/time by adding (don't include the quotes) "~~~~" at the end of your post. There's even a button to the right of where it says "Sign your posts on talk pages" that you can press to auto insert that. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 07:39, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Chris25689, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Oratio Imperata have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:42, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Diannaa, thanks for giving me clarifications on edits. This is a benefit when Wikipedia is edited by many Wikipedians. I was just bumped out by the fact that there are many Oratio Imperata prayers used by Catholics like me in different conflicts, but none haven't been featured yet, especially the first one I put (the one against COVID-19).

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Leo the Lion (MGM), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MGM Grand. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, @Chris25689:! I would like to thank you for starting a Wikipedia draft on Draft:St. Joseph Shrine (Cubao, Quezon City), I added some information and sources that could help in drafting this page. You may take a look at the changes. You may reply to my message if you may have some clarifications. I am happy to help. Maraming salamat po.

Hello again, @Chris25689:! I recently saw your conversation with Ca in her Talk page. Regarding the draft's rejection. Yup, it is really hard to find some independent or reliable sources aside from the Facebook page. I would like to let you know that I am happy to know that you are somehow related to the subject because I am also related to the shrine. Also, although I created my user account long time ago, I am still not familiar with the process of Wikipedia Article creation unlike you. I appreciate your effort. Keep it up. God bless you.
Thank you so much, @LPH3RD:! As of now though, I'm not dedicating that much time to edit the draft, yet it's very cool to know that you're also related to the shrine!
