Hi ChrisTheDude,

Hi mate, Sorry about your club's relegation. I hope you bounce back next year. My local side Bournemouth will hopefully stay in League One next season. 03md 22:52, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

It looks like I was beaten to the punch! I would like to add my commiserations after what happened today. Not that it will help at all, but I know exactly how you feel. Its never a nice feeling being relegated but its part and parcel of being a real supporter, and it makes success that much sweeter when its achieved.

We'll both be celebrating again before long I'm sure. Regards. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 23:58, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Commiserations from here as well. And doubtless my lot's best finish since 1959 will be fast forgotten once second season syndrome kicks in next season to prove the pundits right after all... Nottingham United FC

edit

I just got the message that you are deleting the page for Nottingham United FC, for playing at a level of non-notable football. I disagree with that, as we have a team in the Premier Division of the Midland Amateur Alliance which is one of the oldest amateur leagues in the world and the team we run in there(Monty Hind Old Boys) is almost 40 years old. There are other amateur clubs on wiki like Greenwood Meadows FC, so why not Nottingham United? The club has a meeting at the end of May to get the Saturday 1st team pushed up into the Central Midlands League and there are several clubs from that league on Wiki. Is there anyway I can appeal this decision? Kind regards! --Nottsutd (talk) 09:12, 10 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think I've done all the necessary bits for the return of Hess (I'm cautiously in favour, unlike most of the message boards): I've done personal pages of Hess and Robson, infobox and team management at Gillingham F.C., made a row for him at list of managers, and added a single sentence in History of GFC. Anything I've missed? How current do you intend the managers section ion the main GFC section to remain: landmarks only? Kevin McE (talk) 18:34, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

M.I.A.

edit

Hi. I saw you asked a question on the talk page concerning the title of M.I.A.'s new album. I'd like to ask for your help in copyediting and making relevant the "Politics" section on the article, as it is violating WP:BLP and WP:UNDUE among other policies. I don't think it's particularly well cited, or related to her politics. Alot of it seems to be redundant quotes with the word politics in, repeats from what's in the main section, adds nothing to the bio, or is violating WP:Original research by assuming a political connect (free speech demands, bridges connecting first and third world) etc. It doesn't seem encyclopaedic at all. I've had a go at it. But whilst assuming good faith, the User:Exander2009 who I assume created the section seems highly possessive of the section, and reverts most changes immediately. Would like a third opinion on the matter. I feel more editors involved would be helpful. Thank you. Lifebonzza (talk) 13:53, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

UK charts

edit

Hi mate, I have noted that the 1970s and 1980s number-one singles articles have changed their table format, so I have moved the 1990s (which you worked on) and 2000s (which I worked on) FLs in line with these. I hope this is ok - feel free to revert if you do not like it. I have also added a table for million-selling and platinum singles which is included in the other articles. Perhaps you could add some prose and fill in the table for the 1990s. Thanks. 03md 17:09, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I really brought some fake informations that i translated from the Wikipedia in portuguese. I'm checking out about all the references to the charts. About Nightwish in the UK charts, in the following link you can see that their album Dark Passion Play charted as 25º. You also can read about the most of the other charts.Nightwish.com; To be sure about Nightwish performances on the charts from Germany, Greece, Spain, USA you need to search for Nightwish in the oficial sites of the phonographic industries from each of those countries. You can to get the links on Nightwish discography. Read it by yourself.DreamNight (talk) 17:43, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, Made in Hong Kong really didn't chart in UK, but End of an era was 7 on the Rock charts, as you can see here: Nightwish.com. This link also is now the reference to UK in the live albums chart. DreamNight (talk) 12:55, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just wondering if you could let me know what of your initial comments you consider outstanding and, if you are still unhappy with the Tainted Love response and discrepancy, do you have any suggestions. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 15:47, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'd just thought I'd also let you know that I plan on and have started making changes to List of number-one singles from the 1990s (UK). I know you have already taken this through an FLC but I'm sure you agree that nothing is ever WP:PERFECT. I've colour coded the decade's best-sellers and am starting to add in platinum singles. Also, sortability (i.e. using {{sortname}} and excluding "The" from sorting) needs implementing in the main table. If you have any objections to these changes feel free to let me know or, alternatively, you can assist me in making them (time permitting). Finally, with 50s ready for a candidacy (after 80s), 60s started on, 70s an FL, 80s an FLC, and 90s / 00s being existing FLs I'll update. I was thinking about trying to make a featured topic out of them. The question then would be what to have as the lead article. Either List of number-one singles (UK) would need reformatting away from a disambiguation article or UK Singles Chart would need ripping apart. I was wondered if you had any suggestions or interest in collaborating on this. It would be fairly intermittent work (when time permits) and it might not be something that interests you (but as you did the 90s list I thought I'd ask). Best wishes, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 15:03, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Can I ask you a favour. I'm with no or very little internet (not sure which) for the next few weeks (for a job) and so won't be around to address issues to the FLC above. Any chance you could just keep an eye on it and address any really basic things that come up, prose, stray commas etc. It should be in fairly good condition as it is modelled on the 70s one but I thought it might have been closed by the time I went away (my mistake). If anything big comes up that you can't fix, you can withdraw it on my behalf if I haven't been online since today. If you can't do this, that is fine but I just thought I'd just ask someone who might be able to assist to watch over instead of just neglecting it while I'm gone. Thanks, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 10:10, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lists of footballers by national team

edit

Hi Chris, I understand you're an admin. See post at [1]. I didn't get that much feedback, but I would like to proceed and rename the 'unqualified' articles e.g. move List of England international footballers to List of England international footballers (with 25 or more caps), and same for Scotland/Wales pages. Before that, I would like the page history for the Welsh articles copied across i.e. List of Wales international footballers (alphabetical) should have page history before 24/6/10, and this should be as the page history at List of Wales international footballers, which should be moved. A similar process should be done for the talk pages. Not sure if history moves are also first required for the Scotland/England pages. Hope you can help with this. Let me know if you have any queries. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 15:43, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see you're on a break at the moment, but further to the above the post in question has now been moved to the Footy archives at [2]. I have also checked the England/Scotland pages and in both cases the 'qualified' article was made before the full article, so the only page/talk page history that needs moving is for Wales. However, I did notice that List of Scotland international footballers is in a different format to the other 2, as it has a 20 cap cut-off, and includes all players who have made a Euro/WC squad. I'm not sure therefore if for Scotland the qualified article should change its name to List of notable Scotland international footballers, or indeed whether this naming format should apply to England/Wales as well. I'd be grateful if you have chance to look at this when you're back. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 17:18, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, a copy-edit would be nice if you have time (and get back to me on any name ideas you have). Looking at WP:LISTNAME, Lists of UK number-one singles from 1952–1969 is the closest I get (not sure of "Lists of" vs "List of" though).
