2010–11 Elitserien season

edit

Hi! Could you try and rewrite this section? I am bad at English. HeyMid (contributions) 15:06, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, I've done some copyedits, but I have a couple of things I'm not sure about; see Talk:2010–11 Elitserien season. –Schmloof (talk · contribs) 00:41, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:NHL Slapshot stick.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:NHL Slapshot stick.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 00:36, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes, the game has been released, and I was just waiting for a free replacement before I requested deletion. Speedy delete. –Schmloof (talk · contribs) 00:40, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the Barnstar

edit

I appreciate the Barnstar you added to my page. As for my signature, yeah it's nothing like my user-name, lol. I originally wanted a name closer to my signature but when I signed up it was too close to some other user-name. I suppose it is a bit ridicules. Re: LO:LA edit summaries

edit

Thank you so much, that means a lot! And thank you for directing me to WP:Twinkle as well. IPs are a pain. Reason I'm so 'gung-ho' about keeping Law & Order: Los Angeles (and its subpages, past/present/future, i.e. Episodes, characters) credibly referenced because Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: CI and also Law & Order: TBJ and Law & Order: UK (at times) have info added/deleted uncredibly and it get to be a pain.

I remember reading on the SVU page; one time it read that SVU was being canceled after season 11 and Chris Meloni's character (Elliot Stabler) was being killed off. No sources to that of course. I don't want misinformation and future (unsourced credibly) information on the LOLA page... I want it to be fresh, understandable, and trustworthy. Like I'm sure the DA's name may as well be Jerry Hardin, but I'd rather wait until NBC, TV Guide, EW or some of them say that it is. And Alfred Molina's character's name is indeed "Peter Morales" not "Ricardo Morales"... it stayed Ricardo for the longest, I checked most recent sources with LOLA news, and they call the character "Peter".

I know I was a tad on the snappy side but these IP addresses lately on the LOLA page have been adding all kinds of stuff from Twitter and other social/blog sites (like SpoilerTV/Blogspot) which link back to Twitter. I'll try to cool it down in the future.

But again thank you so much, that meant a lot!--SVU4671 (talk) 04:50, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your kindness

Bonjour Schmloof, thank you for wanting to help me. It is not always easy for me as new member on the wikipedia.

As you want practise the writing of the French language, I will make a bilingual message on your page of discussion: one part in English language and another part in French language. Please excuse my errors of English language, I am not bilingual perfect, I try only to improve my 2 languages.

I read your profile.Waow Vancouver. Vancouver is a biggest city for the Canadian soccer. I know very well Vancouver Whitecaps Womens, a great women's team of soccer. A team champion of whom all the supporters are proud. The team of the men of club Vancouver Whitecaps is also a great team. The team is now in semi-finale in the USSF D2 Pro League and next year, the club will be in the Major League Soccer (MLS). Bravo.

To return to wikipedia: I am attentively going to read the text that to recommend for me. I would like to learn how to put photos in pages wikipedia. So I shall like changing the logo of a club of soccer in the page Quebec City Amiral SC because it is the former logo Arsenal which appears. The new logo Amiral is in the french page here: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiral_SC_de_Qu%C3%A9bec I have to try repeatedly to make the transfer of the image on english page of wikipedia but something does not work.

Thank you for your help, merci beaucoup de votre aide --Charlesquebec (talk) 12:11, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation

edit

Hi. I see you've recently been disambiguating links, using popups. How do you do that? I have the gadget activated in my preferences, and it's actually a pretty effective tool. Thanks in advance. HeyMid (contributions) 09:39, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Apparently I have to be logged in at the non-secure Wikipedia, in order to use it, otherwise I would be editing logged-out. HeyMid (contributions) 13:37, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

NHL 11 ready for GA?

edit

Hi. Is NHL 11 ready for GA? Or have you planned to do some more work before requesting a review for GA? Also, please answer here. Thanks in advance! HeyMid (contributions) 10:31, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Once I finish changing the gameplay to prose it should be good to go. I'll try to get it done soon; there's not much to do. –Schmloof (talk · contribs) 20:12, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I did it as good as I could. Also, in the same diff I also made some minor copyedits. If you think you can improve the article further, go for it! HeyMid (contributions) 15:35, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Also, I don't know what "RFA" in the "Be a GM additions" section means. Also, the "Leagues and teams" section needs to be betterly sourced. HeyMid (contributions) 16:03, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Annulus (zoology)

edit

The article Annulus (zoology) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Dictionary definition with no hope of growing from a stub. Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onthegogo (talk) 04:48, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

May 2014 disambig contest: let's do it again!

edit

Greetings fellow disambiguator! Remember back in February when we made history by clearing the board for the first time ever, for the monthly disambiguation contest? Let's do it again in May! I personally will be aiming to lead the board next month, but for anyone who thinks they can put in a better effort, I will give a $10 Amazon gift card to any editor who scores more disambiguation points in May. Also, I will be setting up a one-day contest later in the month, and will try to set up more prizes and other ways to make this a fun and productive month. Cheers! bd2412 T 18:50, 28 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
