Hi Christian Ferrer,

This is to let you know that File:Fire dartfish (Nemateleotris magnifica) (43372442502).jpg, a featured picture you uploaded, has been selected as the English Wikipedia's picture of the day (POTD) for September 26, 2022. A preview of the POTD is displayed below and can be edited at Template:POTD/2022-09-26. If you have any concerns, please place a message at Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day. Thank you! Nemateleotris magnifica, known by common names including the fire goby, the magnificent fire fish, the fire dartfish, or the red fire goby, is a species of dartfish native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans, from the eastern coast of Africa to the Hawaiian Islands and from the Austral Islands north to the Ryukyu Islands. It inhabits coral reefs, where it can be found at depths of 6 to 70 metres (20 to 230 ft). It is usually found just above the bottom, facing into the current, where it awaits its prey of small invertebrates. This N. magnifica fish was photographed near the island of Morotai in the Indonesian Maluku Islands.

Possible duplicate of file you deleted at Commons

edit

Hello, earlier you deleted commons:File:Zara Yacob.jpg. I am wondering if :en:File:Zara Yacob.jpg (if it is still here by the time you read this) is the same image (I can't see the deleted version at Commons). I suspect this is the case, but didn't immediately delete it because I wasn't certain. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 01:16, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Gyrofrog: Thanks, PD or not it can not be re-uploaded that way, I re-deleted it, note that the uploader currently active here is maybe a sock of the first uploader User:DrNiko giannispolous blocked here. Christian Ferrer (talk) 16:55, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Did both accounts upload at Commons? I don't have visibility into deleted edits there, and unsure if/how I could point to that as evidence where :en is concerned (I'm not otherwise seeing clear overlap here at :en.). Thanks for pointing that out in any case. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:00, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Gyrofrog: yes they uploaded at Commons:
commons:Special:Contributions/JUMPp1harm Special:CentralAuth/JUMPp1harm account created here the 12 February 23 and blocked 5 July 2023
commons:Special:Contributions/DrNiko_giannispolous Special:CentralAuth/DrNiko_giannispolous account created here the 27 November 2023.
As regard to the timelaps quoted above and to the fact that the same day the first file is deleted it is recreated by the second account it is highly suspicious. I will not be surprised that there are also other account(s). Christian Ferrer (talk) 17:18, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again. I guess it will be mainly for the sake of documentation, but I reopened WP:SPI/BasedHistorian PHD. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:30, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
