Speedy deletion of Black Star Co-op
editA tag has been placed on Black Star Co-op requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Blowdart | talk 18:19, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Black Star Co-op
editI have nominated Black Star Co-op, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Black Star Co-op. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mh29255 (talk) 18:33, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I have speedily deleted this article because it failed Wikipedia's notability criteria for businesses and organizations and therefore appeared as advertising. Please read WP:STUB as well to see what qualifies as acceptable topics for inclusion. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:45, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Creating an article about Black Star Co-op that won't be deleted
editHi there! I noticed that your article on Black Star Co-op was speedily deleted, despite your request for a bit more time to work on it. I'd prefer to give you a bit more time to improve it or establish its notability, so I've requested that the article be restored in a user-space sandbox (that is, it doesn't appear as a regular article, but is still available for people to work on, and if it turns out well enough, then it can be considered for moving back to the main article space). If you'd like to work on that copy, and then propose moving it back to the normal article space, feel free to do so. In order to avoid it being deleted again, though, you're going to have to establish the WP:notability of the subject of the article. That can generally be done by providing WP:references to multiple, independent, reliable sources that discuss in detail the subject in question. As of now, I have only found one article that would count as an independent source that discusses the subject in any detail; everything else I've found is promotional materials by the Black Star Co-op itself (like its official website and MySpace), or references in passing that aren't from articles primarily about it, like this article. But there may be references that are not available online that would establish notability; perhaps a guide to brew pubs that has an entire article (not just a small entry or rating) on Black Star, or a book on the history of brewpubs or cooperatives that mentions Black Star as being the first brewpub coop, or something along those lines.
Let me know if you need any help with the editing, or want me to check over your work, and good luck! — λ (talk) 20:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
an article that won't be deleted
editLambda, thanks for the encouraging words. I'm thinking that this coop has social significance in being a grassroots organization that is creating a commercial product, being open to all comers, members or not, and potentially becoming a template for or starting a small wave of other cooperative arrangements. I haven't yet read up on WP:notability but will very soon. I appreciate the opportunity to put this in a sandbox for now to shape it into something acceptable to WP, because I really had no intention of using this as advertising or spam, but rather as an example for generic entrepreneurial invention. I can readily agree that its stub is not in any shape to serve this purpose, but dang, give a guy a chance! :-) Thanks again, I'll go back to the drawing board. chupacerveza 21:15, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Bauer -> Bower in Euchre
editHello, regarding your changing Bower to Bauer in Euchre, please note that I have reverted your change. The spelling of this word has been discussed in the talk page of the article before. Bower is the English spelling, and Bauer is the German spelling. This is an article written in English, hence the English spelling is used.
There are two mentions of the alternative spelling elsewhere in the document. If you are not happy with this, please discuss on the article talk page before changing. Nzseries1 (talk) 08:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Talk pages
editHello. If you have a question about an article, the best place to raise it is on the article's talk page - other editors will probably miss an minor edit summary (some editors choosing not to review minor edits at all). --McGeddon (talk) 17:37, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
