Welcome!

Hello, Cjarvey, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Welcome to Wikipedia!

edit

There were a couple of style issues with your recent edit, so I thought you would benefit from one of the standard welcome messages. I will explain the issues in another message. This is a standard Wikipedia thing, and not related to WikiEd — I have nothing to do with the education program.

Manual of Style

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Murph9000 (talk) 01:42, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ok, here are the issues I spotted in your edit to Restorative justice (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views).
Synthetic formatting instead of wiki formatting
Don't use '''<big>In schools</big>''' (or similar)
Always use ===In schools=== (for section headings)
Using the standard formatting is essential for a number of reasons, including adhering to the official house style, and accessibility for people with visual impairment (or other disabilities).
MOS:REF
Spaces before references
Don't use … classroom. <ref …
Always use … classroom.<ref …
I.e. don't put a space before a reference in normal usage.
Hopefully that's clear. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks

A cup of coffee for you!

edit
Here's a coffee to keep you awake while reading the Manual of Style.

Don't worry about learning and understanding all of it at once. We know it's a quite massive collection of information, and that it takes time to get familiar with it. Honest mistakes are both expected and fine, all we look for is that you take note of friendly advice.

Happy editing. Thanks. Murph9000 (talk) 02:10, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on restorative justice

edit

Hi, I'm the content expert for your class and your professor asked me to give you some feedback. All in all, there really isn't much to say - you did a very good job at summarizing things and finding sources. The only things I changed was a little bit of the word flow and I also found html links to your sources. Other than that, good job! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 04:53, 3 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
