Your CSD
Hi there, I just saw your CSD on Asian Institute of Supply Chains & Logistics, an article that was recreated by another user following copyvio and coi concerns of the previous authors. It seems WP:G4 is not appropriate here as the article was deleted via CSD and the AfD that was started never came to consensus about the article as that was also deleted in the process. I have removed G4, but left A7. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 08:14, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Jake Brockman: Totally understand. I only placed G4 because the previous version of the article was deleted via CSD here. Seems like a sockpuppet account by the way. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me) 08:18, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Hello,
You added the Notability tag to the Gracie Carvalho article. Could you please explain ? There are plenty of sources, the model is notable in the modeling industry and before recreating the article I talked about it with the person who deleted the former article who was ok with a recreation due to the amount of sources available.
Thank you, MirandaKeurr (talk) 14:42, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- @MirandaKeurr: Just removed the tag. I wanted another pair of eyes on it, and it seems like you did just that with the other editor. It read like an advertisement to me. Apologies for the inconvenience. Happy editing! Classicwiki (talk) (ping me) 17:28, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hello Classicwiki. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 22:09, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Issuing level 1 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Paul Barbato. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 05:23, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hey cyberpower678 apologies for removing the Template. I posted the AfD, because the creator of the article removed the PROD template. In between that time another user posted a CSD, so I removed my AfD and forgot that it was already posted on the debates page. Soudabeh's page
Hi. Please specify the signs of boosterism in that page. Everything there is just some facts about her career and based on the links and references mentioned. Thanks for your time.Wikiphili (talk) 16:45, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, Wikiphili! Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for your recent contributions. The reason I put the BOOSTER tag on the article for a few reasons. I would invite you to read WP:BOOSTER and WP:PEACOCK. I think there is a bit of puffery in Soudabeh Fazaeli's article, which could easily make another editor nominate the article for deletion. Saying she is "prominent" or "the most referenced works in scholarly articles, writings and academic journals" needs to be backed up by multiple credible sources. On a quick search, I haven't found that claim to be entirely accurate. I understand language difference is an issue, but if she was so prominent then she should be able to transcend these barriers, especially in academia. I would recommend that you consider adding concise, but important information that highlights her notability credibly. Please let me know if you want me to expand further. Best, Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please, I don't watch pages) 17:11, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
ٰHow could I ping you?Wikiphili (talk) 17:58, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

When you comment on my user talk page you automatically ping me. How can I help? Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please, I don't watch pages) 18:12, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
ٰWell, everything claimed in that page is actually backed by multiple credible sources; but in Persian. I just collected some few English and Persian sources to give a brief introduction. You may want to take a look at her Persian page and see how her page could look like. I see no puffery here. Please consider that the main sources are in Persian. You may want to revise putting the tag on her English page. Thank you. Wikiphili (talk) 17:06, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
- Wikiphili, I hear you. But if she is as prominent as you say she is then she should at least show up in some searches and have news coverage in English or other languages. Keep adding to the page and making credible claims. I am worried that it may be tagged for deletion. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please, I don't watch pages) 17:19, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Bevell, Becerra, Pelosi, Mix-Up.
Sir or Madam:
It is with great consternation that I write this message. On what grounds was Xavier Becerra’s page changed back to its incorrect state? We feel that Darrell Bevell exhibits the same leadership traits needed to lead the National Democratic Caucus. His years of service and leadership to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are proof of this. For more information, please contact Joseph Martin McAllister in Provo, UT or Flagstaff, AZ or Aurora, CO.
With Kind Regards,

- Hello 71.87.114.237! Wikipedia relies on verifiable facts and reliable sources. I can't tell if you are trolling, but unequivocally, Pelosi was the leader at the time Becerra was the Chair of the House Democratic Conference. If you have information proving otherwise, please cite it. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please) 22:03, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Giving users an only warning after they got a final warning
Hi Classicwiki. I noticed in this edit that you gave a user an only warning (4im) after they had already received a final warning (4) and were at AIV waiting to be blocked. Please refrain from doing this, since it generally makes no sense to the user. If they have been given a final warning and are already at AIV, please just keep reverting their edits without issuing any more warnings until they are blocked. Thanks, —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 22:43, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Will do, K6ka. I know it is a little outside of the norm. I use it because a second final warning usually gets them to stop. But I'll conform to the standard. Thanks, Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please) 22:48, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

On Sinhalese New Year
Hi , I just Got this warning https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:115.114.36.2&redirect=no If you review my change , Which says that Sinhalese new year is a Solar year , not Lunar and read the bottom part of the article (Which is not done by me) You will get a clear undestanding this is really a Solar year , because it celebrates the transit of sun from Meena Rashi (Sanskrit word for Pices) to Mesha Rashi(Sanskrit word to Aeris. And Have you gone through the citation already there those also indicate this is Solar year. The one who edited before has done it even without going through his/her own reference. I don't see a need to add additional reference as mine edition was just to remove the contradict which says it's lunar year and then goes on describing how it's centered on Sun. Please carefully read all references given in the article and review it before removing /accepting any changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.114.36.2 (talk) 08:17, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
Rollback granted
Hi Classicwiki. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. If you want to make it more clear, feel free to add prose with reliable sources. Same goes for the TFC. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
Workers' council
Hello. Why did you undo the last revision of the article? 77.126.97.196 (talk) 21:26, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- Having checked the Commune (socialism) article, I now see your reasoning behind undoing one of the changes. How, if I may ask, are you sure that the concepts are distinct? Both refer to a form of administration inspired by the Paris Commune. 77.126.97.196 (talk) 21:35, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, 77.126.97.196. I undid your edits mostly to follow WP:BOLDTITLE and WP:LEDE. But it is my understanding based on your edits that you were inferring an equivalency between Workers' council and Commune (socialism). This is shown by your edit here and here. While these two topics are related, they aren't exactly the same, hence the separate pages. Feel free to elaborate on their relationship or request a merge with reliable sources. I'm not an expert in Communism or Socialism, so I can't really debate individual merits. Also, no need to link section titles. Best, Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please) 21:45, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks for replying. So you have no objection to me reviving the other changes to the Workers' council article? (If you'd like me to remind you, those included me designating the International Socialist Tendency as Trotskyist rather than simply classical Leninist, listing the Paris Commune insurrection among the instances of the establishment of a workers' council system, and adding the Commune (socialism) and The Civil War in France articles to the "See also" list.) 77.126.97.196 (talk) 23:12, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hey, since you haven't replied in over a week, I'll assume you don't mind. Hope that's okay. 77.126.97.196 (talk) 01:03, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- Apologies, 77.126.97.196. I somehow didn't notice the reply. I don't mind any changes to an article as long as they cited by reliable sources and are not entirely original research. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please) 15:57, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- No worries, Classicwiki. I've taken care of it. 77.126.97.196 (talk) 00:35, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

DYK for 2017 Lebanon–Saudi Arabia dispute
On 19 December 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2017 Lebanon–Saudi Arabia dispute, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited German East Africa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hermann von Wissmann (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion contested: Benjamin Nagengast
Hello Classicwiki, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Benjamin Nagengast, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Being a full professor is a sufficient claim to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 20:08, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- Eastmain, I reviewed Wikipedia:Notability (academics) critera #5 prior to placing the CSD tag. It says, "The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon)." The article didn't mention named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment, so I thats why I nominated it for deletion. I don't read the criteria as being just a professor is enough for notability. Maybe I am wrong, and don't mind being corrected. I am considering placing XfD, let me know if that is unwise. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me please) 20:17, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- Classicwiki This page https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=qpWKIdEAAAAJ&hl=en lists a lot of citations for his work and an h-index of 30 and an i10-index of 52, probably enough for notability. The threshold for speedy deletion is not the same as for notability; the existence of a claim of notability is enough to pass speedy. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 20:49, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Articles for deletion/Kishore Jayaraman
Hi Classicwiki, thanks for evaluating Kishore Jayaraman's page. I am trying to read up as much as I can on why certain articles are recommended for deletion. From what I have gathered, I believe there are 3 reasons why Kishore Jayaraman's article is relevant: 1. Kishore Jayaraman is considered to be an authority on the energy sector in the south asian region with several years of experience; 2. The quoted sources are authentic Indian and global news platforms like The Economic Times, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, India Today, Business Standard etc. that have written independent articles on Kishore Jayaraman; 3. The article stays away from being promotional and tries to state facts, based on publicly available information. Since you pointed out, Linkedin did look out of place. Other than that, adding more information can make the article robust. Would be great if you could suggest how it can be improved. Thank you. Eddyconrad (talk) 09:48, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Eddyconrad. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. I think Kishore Jayaraman fails to meet Wikipedia's notability standards. He seems like any other business executive out there today. Does it really matter that he golfs, plays guitar, and travels? Is that really encyclopedic at this moment? When you say "considered to be an authority on the energy sector in the south asian region with several years of experience" Ok by whom? Has he published significant work to prove his authority? How has he demonstrated his competency? I would suggest reviewing WP:NBIO and consider if Kishore can meet the standards set out there. Finally, I would recommend making your case at the AfD page, you might be able to get a Keep vote. Let me know if you have any questions. Request about tags on Brad Smith (American lawyer)
Hi. I noticed your concerns about the article Brad Smith (American lawyer), and would love to work with you to resolve them. I admit I don't see the {{peacock}} issues you bring up, but that might be because I've been staring at the article for so long; your fresh pair of eyes could be very useful. I would be happy to propose updates to resolve your concerns. Heck, due to the COI thing, you'd probably have to be the one to put them in the article, so they'll have to meet your standards!
However, would you please be so kind as to remove the {{peacock}} and {{coi}} tags from the article in the meanwhile? Honestly, I'm pretty proud of the article, I've put quite a lot of work into it, and, well, they look ugly. I am pretty sure I've been quite careful with the COI issue, by asking User:Jarekt, an experienced and respected Wikipedian whom I had no knowledge or prior interaction with before, but who had displayed interest in the article, to review it and move it to main space if he thought it was ready. He did. And I promise I will address each specific {{peacock}} issue you bring up; if you feel I've stopped responding, you will always be able to put the tag back. You've written some articles yourself, presumably you know what it's like to be proud of an article, and have it look the best? To show good faith I've done something I hope you'll like, I've found free images for two of the articles on your user page, per your request "(please help improve them!)". (I do that occasionally.) Would you honor my request likewise? --GRuban (talk) 17:41, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hey, GRuban. Thanks for those images and helping improving Wikipedia in general. I will address your concerns over at the talk page at Talk:Brad Smith (American lawyer) shortly, so people can easily see why the COI and Peacock will eventually be removed. Angermuseum
Hi, Classicwiki, i do not understand your button This article may be expanded with text translated from the corresponding article in German as this is a translation of the german article, as is stated in the talk-site of the museum. And i did not translate it with a machine. It would be nice, if you could specify, where the translation is rough. And... as i only did translate the article, i used the references given in the german article, I of course can try to find more, but wouldn't that then be not a translation anymore, if i add references? Kind regards, --Gyanda (talk) 21:25, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Gyanda. First good job on the translation, never meant to imply that the article was machine translated. It didn't look like it. As this is a new article, I linked to the German language version in case there was more to bring over from that version; as I don't read German, I didn't know if all the information was brought over. The roughly translated part was based on the syntax of the sentences. Where it reads, "The wing of the former Packhof, situated in Bahnhofstraße, lost its double hipped roof..." I have no context to understand what Packhof or Bahnhofstraße means in this sentence. In, "In 1935 the library moved out of the Angermuseum, allowing it to dispose of the entire building." What is the entire building in this situation? The entire museum or the entire building the library was located in? Also what library? At first glance, the article just felt like it was missing context in certain situation hence the rough translation and linking to the corresponding German article. I hope that makes sense. Again, thanks for translating in English. Hope that explanation makes sense. Best, Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 05:27, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, i can so much relate to your comment that the syntax of the sentences is strange. I already thought this, when i translated it :-). Unfortunately it is in the original text, so i didn't know, whether i was allowed to change it. Strangely enough - i'm right now translating the german article on the Museum Wiesbaden - there also are sentences noone would understand, if he doesn't know the background. Here i just added text and changed sentences first in the german article and then translated. Perhaps i will rewrite the german article on the Angermuseum or at least make it more understandable in the german version too and then will translate it. Thanks that you took the time to let me know!!! Kind regards, --Gyanda (talk) 11:21, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late reply, Gyanda. No problem. As long as it is true to the source, feel free to change sentences so that they flow better in English. I can relate, I recently translated de:Gerhard Meyer-Schwickerath to Gerhard Meyer-Schwickerath and it was difficult. If you have the time, let me know what you think! Best, Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 20:13, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Dear Classicwiki, i just looked at your article. I especially loved this translation because he did not want to defend Nazism. Very elegant! And the article is very interesting as well, didn't know about Gerhard Meyer-Schwickerath before and the picture of the statue and the Legacy-part shows his importance very well. Thus, the article is really round and perfect. Will try to get my article better also - after i've done the translation on Museum Wiesbaden. Kind regards, --Gyanda (talk) 20:58, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- Gyanda, thanks! I added an infobox ({{infobox museum}}) to your articles. Best of luck, Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 22:55, 1 March 2018 (UTC)

On vandalism
Hello ClassicWiki. I have been notified by yourself that a user under my IP supposedly vandalized some page about a basketball player. I do have an account, Cupofteaguy. I have never seen this page before, and can assure it you it must have been another user with the same IP that conducted this. I apologize for any confusion.

- 69.166.116.2/Cupofteaguy, no worries thats the point of accounts (shared IPs). Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 04:43, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
Heather Nauert
Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with this edit to Heather Nauert. As I'm sure you must know by now, Wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citations. It is even more important with material that could conceivably be regarded as contentious, such as Trump administration appointments. If you intend to restore the material, please do so only if it is accompanied by citations. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 19:32, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
