It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

CFD: proposed mergers of categories for Tornadoes in the United States by state by date
Hi Colonies Chris
At Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2018 November 28#Tornadoes_in_the_United_States_by_state_by_date, I have proposed upmerging 36 categories. At a quick glance, I think you created most of them (or maybe even or all of them), so you may want to join in the discussion. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:02, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Association football link
Hi there. :-) You've been changing [[Association football|football to [[association football|football. Could you explain why? Robby.is.on (talk) 09:47, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Robby - I never make this change on its own, only as an extra when in the process of making more significant changes. It's just a cosmetic thing, to make reading the markup easier for an editor by matching the case of the piped link to the case of the visible link. It has no significance beyond that, and doesn't affect the link in any way. Colonies Chris (talk) 10:12, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. Sorry for the delay in my response. Is there a general consensus for the matching you mention? Robby.is.on (talk) 12:45, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- As far as I know, it's never been discussed one way or the other. No-one has welcomed it, no-one has objected. Colonies Chris (talk) 13:15, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Barneville-Carteret fixes thanks
Thank you for the several minor fixes you made on Barneville-Carteret using wp:JWB, including some typographical fixes. Tell me, will I need permission to run wp:AWB for permission to also run wp:JWB?--Dthomsen8 (talk) 03:51, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Dthomsen8: actually I was using AWB. It was User:DePiep who was using JWB; you'll need to contact him to answer your question. Colonies Chris (talk) 09:47, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- I think that is the same permision indeed. I've never been able to check otherwise (I was always with AWB permission, so never met a negative). JWB is maintained by User:Joeytje50/JWB. -DePiep (talk) 11:04, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Well, I noticed that practically all of the changes to that article were to remove the "website" parameter altogether and change the "publisher" parameter from "Union of European Football Associations" to "UEFA". Not sure why you're doing that, but it doesn't make sense to delete all that info. – PeeJay 12:01, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
