editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Double Tables has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tweTGHNDehA. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. 1972 Michigan vs. Navy football game
editComedian1018, hello. Thanks for you recent contributions. I've nominated 1972 Michigan vs. Navy football game, which you created, for deletion. I don't think this game is significant enough to warrant its own article. I encourage you to participate in the deletion discussion for the article here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1972 Michigan vs. Navy football game. You might also want to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject College football, which contains a lot information about college football coverage on Wikipedia. I've done a lot of editing on college football topics with a lot of focus on Michigan football, and I'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Keep up the editing. Thanks. College football season articles
editComedian1018, I see you've been busy creating a lot of college football season articles. Nice work. Just wanted to call to your attention a few style points.
- In section headings, proper nouns aside, only the first word should be capitalized. I'd also avoid symbols like ampersands there; i.e. write "Awards and honors", not "Awards & Honors".
- Scores and won-lost records should always be punctured with an en dash, not a hyphen; see Dash.
- Many of the other regular college football editors and I have made a habit of putting the season schedule toward the top of the article, often right below the lead. It should definitely appear before other tables like ones for rosters or lists of coaching staffs. The schedule summarizes what the team did nicely and is an element that strikes at the core of the topic at hand. Its utility and relevance warrants high placement.
Thank and keep up the good work. Jweiss11 (talk) 00:28, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Box Removal
editSorry for the confusion, I should have clarified this when I removed them the first time. I actually don't have any problem with them, I'd just like to keep seasons using one format. If you could change them all at once, that would be great. Thanks, and my apologies again. SCS100 (talk) 05:15, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Merger proposal
editI have started a discussion proposing that your additions to 1984 Utah Utes football team be merged back into Utah Utes football under Chuck Stobart. You are encouraged to comment on the discussion. See Talk:Utah Utes football under Chuck Stobart#Merger proposal. —Ute in DC (talk) 04:45, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Depth chart templates, some basics re: new team season articles
editComedian1018, were you talking about this depth chart template, Template:CFB Team Depth Chart? I'm not sure if there is one dedicated for NFL teams, but I don't see why this one couldn't be generalized for any level of football.
Also, I wanted to drop you a note about the new team season articles you've been creating. Thanks for churning out so many out of late. Just a few small, but important items:
- Be sure to add categories to any new articles you create. For D-I FBS team season articles, there always going to be a category for that football season and one for all the season articles for that team, e.g. for 1978 Purdue Boilermakers football team, we have Category:1978 NCAA Division I-A football season and Category:Purdue Boilermakers football seasons. There may also be relevant categories for that year's conference season, e.g. Category:1978 Big Ten Conference football season, and conference and bowl champion seasons, e.g. Category:Chick-fil-A Bowl champion seasons and Category:Big Ten Conference football champion seasons.
- Upon creating new articles, you should also create the talk page for that article and tag it with relevant project tags. For, college football articles, tag the talk page with {{WikiProject College football}}. For new articles, the class parameter in that tag should usually be set to Stub unless the article has well-developed prose and citations, in which case it could be Start class or better.
- All game scores and won-loss records should be punctuated with an endash, not a hyphen. Type
–
, not -. See Dash for more on this.
The first two items above will help other editors know that your new article has been created and properly integrate it into other articles they are working on. For example, I'm working on a big project to standardize a lot of the elements in coaching biographies. In head coaching record tables, we always want to link to team season articles if they exist. I've already done a lot of editing and standardization on most of the Big Ten Conference guys, but when you create an article such as 1978 Purdue Boilermakers football team, we want to go back and link to it from Jim Young (American football coach).
Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 00:37, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Empty roster templates
editWill you please stop adding empty roster templates to college football pages. The ones that you have added to 2010 pages so far have only included coaching staffs and key players and nothing else but a big bulky template that is completly unneeded and out of place. I have gone through and deleted them from the 2010 pages because they don't add enough relevant information to be warrented. Please add the entire roster or none at at all or come up with a way to add the coaches that dosen't include that big template. Thank you.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 04:17, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
1990 Florida Gators football team
editGreetings, Comedian1018. I have reverted your most recent change to the date formatting on the "Florida Gators football, 1990–1999" article. Please do not change it back again. The 1990 season records table is one of 85 identically formatted season records tables covering the years 1906 to 1999. The complete numeric date format (e.g. 9–19–1990) used in these tables provides the complete date in easily legible format that also minimizes the space required to present the date and thereby avoid internal line-wrapping within the tables. If you are viewing these pages on a standard monitor, you will note that these Florida Gators tables maximize the information presented while minimizing the line-wrapping, random white space and other anomalies that are endemic to many of the other college football tables for other teams. A lot of thought and careful planning went into the layout of the these tables, and I would be grateful if you did not futz with the existing table formatting. It took over two months of work to upgrade these 85 seasons of Florida Gators records tables to the existing consistently formatted and compact layout. It goes without saying that other members of the Florida Gators project who worked on these tables are not excited about seeing someone attempt to impose their own formatting preferences willy-nilly on these tables and disrupt our internal Gators project consensus. Thank you for your consideration. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 06:16, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Joe Paterno's final season
editI've noticed your recent editing in the 2011 Penn State football season article. Twice in the past 6 months, I've noted that it was Joe Paterno's "46th and final season." In my opinion, a person's 46 years at the same job is very significant to be noted on the page. On 29 May 2012, you deleted these significant words and final season. I'm adding them back. We can discuss further. Bob305 (talk) 20:39, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

College football season articles
editComedian1018, thanks for all your contributions. When creating new stub articles for college football team seasons, be sure to do the folllowing:
- Add team wikilinks in the schedule table, making use of Template:Cfb link where needed.
- Include the appropriate season category, e.g. Category:1998 NCAA Division I-A football season or Category:1998 Pacific-10 Conference football season if the conference category exists.
- Tag the talk page of the new article with the WikiProject College football banner and rate as a Stub by paste this code: {{WikiProject College football|class=Stub}}

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 1995 Purdue Boilermakers football team, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 1984 Purdue Boilermakers football team. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 23:43, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

1975 Pittsburgh Steelers season changes
editYou recently made some changes to the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers season article. While I don't necessarily think the changes you made using the AFB game box template were bad, I'm curious as to why you made the change for only a single game in the article. I've reverted the change in order to maintain the consistency within the article. If you'd like to extend the changes to the entire article, that would be fine. — DeeJayK (talk) 14:02, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here
editHey Comedian1018
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:10, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

College football rosters
editHelp me understand your goals wrt these football rosters you're adding to college season pages. Most of them are just the coach and one or two players. Some of these players don't even have a wiki page. What is your source that you're using? What is your motivation? I just don't underhand the rhyme or reason to adding a "roster" section that lists no one but the second string linebacker... Ostealthy (talk) 05:03, 14 December 2018 (UTC)

1971–72 Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, 1971–72 Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

- Dear Cerebellum,
- While I appreciate the feedback and understand the standards you/the community is trying to uphold, there are certain sports team pages (especially college sports pages) that have the same amount of information or less on active pages with the same or fewer number of sources. But I shall endeavor to produce a better page for publication when time permits.
- Sincerely,
- Comedian1018 (talk) Comedian1018 (talk) 17:52, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
